"Greetings, I am Mayzern and this is Amynd", referring to the polar bear cub peaking around his robes. "We are looking for the brigand that attacked you and the Bard from Smythe's. I was hoping that you might be able to give some indigenous on why you weren't tacked?"
Asaylyn - I don't know, I was just playing my drums and singing and all of a sudden this giant lunatic had his arm across my throat and trying to choke me.

**Antoninus stopped by long enough to recount the entirety of the Field Trip to an (increasingly bewildered) bard, then paid the hundred gold necessary to increase his reputation.**

Sing lustily and with good courage.
Be aware of singing as if you were half dead,
or half asleep:
but lift your voice with strength.
Be no more afraid of your voice now,
nor more ashamed of its being heard,
than when you sang the songs of Satan.
Odd and Dracanis entered the Maison Diapason and flagged down any Bard that didn't seem to preoccupied. He wrote on some parchment and then held it up to the bard.

Alacritas began regaining his composure. How long has he been here for? 'Too long', he decided, trying to remember what's been keeping him. The bottle of elvish whiskey at his feet was emptier than he remembered leaving it, but he didn't remember falling asleep either. The night must have ended long after his memory gave in. He rolled over to find a woman sitting at the edge of the bed, undressed, and lightly strumming the strings of her harp. There was something magical about it, about her. She stirred a memory in him, something painful, but he could never remember what, not with her around to distract him. Something was nagging him in the back of his head; wasn't he here to do something?
"I made you breakfast."
Whatever it was, it can wait until after breakfast. He dined on the meal while the girl played her tunes. He couldn't remember her name, oddly. Two months, he determined. He's been here two months. And he doesn't know her name. That's wrong. There's something very wrong happening. He began to stir and turn towards her.
"Shhh.... Sh... Calm down. Sit back, relax, listen... We don't want to ruin your pretty aura..." Alacritas felt compelled to obey. The woman continued singing, her voice quaint and soft and tingling and- *snap* A string of her harp split under the pressure, and a wave of thoughts flooded into Alacritas's mind.
"What. The ****." There was something unfamiliar about his voice, as if he hadn't heard it in months. In fact, he hadn't heard it in months.
The girl looked away in shame, knowing the gig was up. "I'm sorry... I... I've been so lonely, and you're...." She licked her lips. "All it took was the right song. And some booze. I didn't think it would work so well. It usually doesn't."
Alacritas wasted no time bringing a flush to her face. He donned his clothes and quickly left, amazed and ashamed at the whole ordeal. How the hell did he spend the last two months boozed and boning? In the midst of a hunt for a wanted criminal, and suddenly he was put out cold by a spellsong.
And then it clicked.
The man hurried up to the room of Asaylyn and pounded on the door with his fist.
Sly walks in and finds another bard looking for work. He told them the horrible tale of a mine and terrible chest exploding creatures, and terrible magic imbued zombies, and the freeing of the god of disorder. After 100 gold changed hands the bard was off and telling his tale. And Sly left with a smile on his face.

Alacritas stepped in without so much as waiting for an invitation. "You were named as one of the victimized bards. What song were you playing when the man assaulted you?"

The frustration that his theory is turning up short brought the man to clench his hand. "Is that definite? There is no way in which the song could have drove the man to attack you?"
Asaylyn - If it did, it because of the man, not the song. Sang it a dozen times before with nothing like that. And I know Pater didn't know it, wasn't his style.

"That is all for now. I will return if I need more information." The warrior promptly turned and exited, leaving the Maison and heading for the Brewpub.
