[Epicrin] Off The Thoroughfare

**The largest and perhaps most well traveled road in Epicrin, The Thoroughfare is a vast street running from the city's main gates to the city center, and is lined with dozens of shops and businesses. This is the hub of Epicrin, where locals and visitors alike shop and rub elbows.

Off the main throughfare is a labyrinth of back alleys and sidestreets leading to even more shops further off the main road, and these are the homes of the city's conmen and pickpockets, taking advantage of the hustle and bustle of the city to take advantage of the unaware and gullible.**

Sokai stumbles down the dimly lit road dressed in a very nice robe flinging around a very full looking coinpurse. Underneath is a hidden dagger, poison belt, and a trusty blow pipe. Everything is left in his room. Drank alot of bright-eye tea today.
Acting very drunk Sokai stumbles down a back alley singing a song with loud, incoherent words.

**Despite the late arrow and relatively secluded area, the street was still rather busy and Sokai got alot of concerned and/or disgusted looks. In front of a quaint looking pastry shop, he felt a tug on his purse.**

Even with the teas enhancement this guy still was able to sneak up on Sokai. He is good at his profession afterall. The purse drawstring already cut and in the theif's hands. Stunned by the unexpected weight of the purse Sokai turns with catlike reflexes and with his right hand brings a poisoned dart up and jabs it through the theifs under-chin piercing his tongue. Sokai already has a grip on his arm

Note: Your tea's effect isn't an enchantment, its a natural nonmagical effect granted to you by drinking it at the beginning of an encounter. Might want to note how many uses worth you have on you. By the time you run out the supply shop should be up and running so you can buy stuff to make more. Same for uses of your poison.

**The jakari thief was indeed caught offguard, but when Sokai reeled on him and swung for his jaw, he managed to snap his head back enough that the needle only slashed his underchin rather than impaling it.

When Sokai's grip settled on his arm, the jakari grabbed his arm his hand and arm went numb by means of some magic and the jakari managed to wrench himself free and backpedal away from Sokai, shaping his head as the poison take effect.**

Sokais left arm surely was dumb, it diddnt know left from right! He decoded quickly to not use it and started in chase.
Using his right hand he pulled out his dagger.
Both jakaris equal in speed but one being put through dizzying run, bound to fall sooner or later.

Oops, sorry, your arm is number, not dumb, sorry.

**Panicking, the jakari thief threw out both hands before him. Caltrops flew from one hand, a shroud spell from the other. The Street became pitch black.**

Sokai stopped in his tracks. Listens for the panicked man. Putting away the dagger and taking out the dart gun. Dart in hand.
Arm feeling less dumb and more numb. Obviously confused
can sokais eyes see in the darkness due to cat eyes?

Normal darkness you'd see better than normal, but his is magically created midnight, so its not much help.

**It was hard to hear anything over the voices of frightened bystanders, til a scream echoes a dozen yards ahead of Sokai to the left.**

Taking a few quick long strides to the left and then full out runs towards the noise long strides to avoid his traps.

**Sokai's footfalls fell on the caltrops, hurting him as he ran. Within seconds he burst out of the shroud spell area into the moonlight, only to find the thief waiting from him and with a pouncing tackle.**

Sokai attempted to stop instead fell due to his damaged feet, causing an awkward collision. Knocking them both into the darkness. A angry but calm. Still touching and on the spike littered ground sokai throws an elbow at the dicks face.

**It him home and illicited an pained snarl and the more beastial jakari responded by biting down on Sokai's forearm.**

Sokai, now knowing exactly where to strike, slams down with the very solid blow pipe onto the theifs head. Then starting to feel the delayed pain from adrenaline running our sokai screams "HOLY MOTHER OF F***"

**In severe pain and blind, the dazed thief released his bite and tries to get separate from Sokai and retreat.**

"No you dont!". Sokai jumps onto his back. Wrestling him to the ground.

**The cat crashes to the ground, face first, and falls still beneath Sokai.**

Sokai grabs the mans hair and shoves his face into the ground. Pinning down the man sokai says "are you done!? I'm going to take you in one way or the other."

**The jakari was unconscious.**

"Ah ha!" Sokai smirks "got ya! Aw **** I have to carry you back dont I..." He says to himself. Takes a second to pull the shards from the bottom of his feet and butt. Then begins carrying the limp body.

Sanzo still observing from the shadows jumps away into the night.

Before reaching the hall Sokai checks the unconscious mans pockets.

**He found 15 gold and a knife of unknown properties. Unfortunately touching the jakari's coat to do so made his hand go numb again.**

"god dammit hand!". Awkwardly pockets the gold and knife:

**Laroc strolled down the well-appointed street, enjoying the surroundings but watchful. This had to be where the bigger tobacconists were; the atarin wasn't certain what lesser people smoked. Cat dung? Rocks? Their imagination? That was a mystery for another time though.

The atarin glanced down the street, getting the attention of a guard.**

Laroc - "Any opinions on what the best Tobacconist's around here is?"

Guard - Hornblower's Pipe. Just head down the sidestreet next to the haberdasher, then follow your nose.
