Epicrin - The Blooming Tower

**Amidst the myriad spires that span the Epicrin skyline, one tower stands with a natural beauty that others can reflect only in their cold, metallic gloss. Towards the western portion of town, in the Grand Quarter, the Blooming Tower sprouts with magnificent rises of green and olive and falls of turquoise and aqua. Balconies hang from the tower walls in multitudes, lavish gardens flowing from their wide brims, trees of pine, oak, and even palm sprouting from their holds. Vines rich with blossoming flowers cascade over rims and stretch from balcony to balcony, looping and curving with the structure's architecture. The grandeur of the Blooming Tower climaxes at the roof, crowned by a ring of wild shrubbery, with aquatic fountains shooting upwards into the sky. The jets gush into shallow pools, from which they descend in spirals around the tower through aqueducts, irrigating the gardens that bloom along its walls. Flocks of pigeons and other avian species often congregate in the tower gardens, their chirps carried in the city's winds alongside falling petals.**

**The Blooming Tower is home to the Epicrin chapter of Sentinels, a sanctuary of nature in a city that often forgets itself in artifice.**

Sokai found himself in an open hall made of limestone bricks, the ceiling twenty some feet high. In the center of the room there was a circular pool, fifteen feet across, with a limestone tube, ten feet in diameter, rising from its depths and continuing upwards into the heights of the tower. The dark echoes of the water suggested the well ran deep. Very deep.

There was no reception desk, but an elderly man with receding gray hair and a gaunt face welcomed him. "You may find our herbalism trainers on the second floor. The stairway is in that corner. If you'd like to learn more of the mind, the body and the soul... Are you referring to the Wisdoms, or those aspects of life they represent?"

Arl enters the tower with Cee on her head as she continues her quest to find someone that knows how to track Rasa Chimeras.

She uses her psionic paper to help guide her through the place as she tries to find someone to talk to.

**Before too long she found herself talking to a young elf woman tending to a flock pigeons.**

Elf - "May I help you?"

Arl - I hope so! I've been trying to find someone that knows how to track a Rasa Chimera. There is one lost outside the city that we're trying to find before it gets hurt.

Cee - But we don't actually know how to find it.

Elf - "Oh! Well that is important! Only very rarely do a Rasa's mixed origins create a being that can defend itself in any way, so whenever they can be taken out of the wild we make a point to do so."

**She threw a handful of seeds to the birds, who cooed appreciatively.**

Elf - "The trick is to understand that, as amalgam animals, any individual Rasa will want something entirely different from what another wants. Did you receive a description of this particular Rasa?"

Arl - It was described as 'An adorable foxy-squirrely ball of fluff and love'?

Elf - "Hrm....that's not the most I've ever had to go on but it should do. Find something a fox and a squirrel would both like, and use it as bait?"

Arl - Hrm.. I think both foxes and squirrels eat fruit so maybe I should use that.. thanks for your help! I.. oh, wait, I'm Arl Lotreab.

Arl makes a short, polite bow as she introduces herself.

Elf - "Ah! It's a pleasure dear."

Arl makes some more smalltalk with the nice elf lady who totally has a name (that shall remain a mystery to the reader) before setting off to find the Rasa

Laelaps and Omni entered the Blooming Tower. A few hours later, Laelaps and Omni exited the Bloomin Tower followed by a coatl. The coatl happened to be Laelaps's new Guiding Bondmate named Streep.

**Binxy entered the tower, looking to find someone who might be able to give him some information on Crelefts. Like, for example, what a honey kissin' Creleft was.**

**He was directed to a rather small, round man in a long brown coat, his cleanly shaven, his face bespectacled and bookish, his fight hand a missing half its fingers. He was in an indoor arboretum, bend over next to an oak with his face half stuffed in a bush.**

**Binxy didn't overreact, but if this was a Chakosan Maneater Bush, he was completely ready to vivisect the honey kisser.**

Binxy - "Hey."

**The man looked up.**

Alfis - Sorry, studying some little ones. Can I help you?

Binxy - "Crelefts. Don't know much about them. Know less about bringin' them in alive. Figured I might remedy that."

Alfis - Name rings a bell, let he check my books...

**Alfis awkwardly extricated himself from the plantlife and headed down a hallway, signally Binxy to follow him. **

**He followed, though he did give the bush a final suspicious glare.**

Binxy - "They're some sort of bug-mammal thing. Have a queen; not sure if they're a hive mind though."

**Binxy was led to polish cherry office door, which Alfis unlocked and stepped into. Following him, Binxy found himself in a room stuff in equal parts with books and taxidermy, including a full stuffed windreaver, staring Binxy dead in the eye from across the room.**

**Binxy grunted at the dead windreaver.**

Binxy - "One of those honey kissers was loose in Elexia a few days ago. Nasty bastards. Make good boots though."

**Alfis was already pouring through a book, responding without looking up.**

Alfis - I wouldn't know, I needed it whole. Had a dickens of a time killing it without ruining the hide.

**Binxy leaned up against the wall, watching him search.**

Binxy - "Took off the tongue first, myself. After that you can just bleed them; honey kissers'll run themselves dead at that point, if you let'm."

Aflis - Precisely. Thats what I ended up having to do. The tongue would have just rotted anyway. The one in there now is sculpted putty studded with carved stone teeth. Ah, here we go. Crelefts...ewwww....not good. Very rare, very dangerous. Best way to describe them would be, well, Gorilla-Locusts.
