"Research is what I'm doing when I don't know what I'm doing." - Wernher von Braun
Just east of the City Center, the Tomorrow Forge is one of the largest Forges in the city, particularly by height. Despite its vast size it produces a relatively small percentage of the cities actual weapon supply for merchants and Peacekeepers. Rather, many of the forges inside the Tomorrow Forge are focused on making doodads and whirlygigs that most people would consider to be of questionable value. The Machinists Guild, on the other hand, needs a wide variety of Doodads to inspire greatness, and challenge creativity.
Peter Ford, the leader of the Tomorrow Forge, is a robust man with his eyes on the horizon and his feet planted firmly in the ground. Will add more description soon,

It's not as if the woman had never been out of Elexia. After all, her principle had been out and about a number of times in the years she served him. But she had never been this close to the Tomorrow Forge before. She'd never been close enough to see just how big it is. How massive it is. How... How...
Nevermind. She squares her shoulders and starts to make her way in. Shifting the lens over her eye to more close-up vision as she does so, peering this way and that. Trying to make out... Well. Whatever it is she does to get some training in machinism.
Soon, The Woman finds the interior of the Forge, with a stunning number of people laboring away in thick garments and masks to protect them from extreme heat. No sooner had she done so than she was approached by a staunch man in thick wool and a well worn iron faceplate. In a muffled voice, he shouted (over the din)

"No, it's the room we put the paper in. It gets pretty humid in the forge proper, it's hell on paper. But look at this!"
Peter closes the door, and flips a lever on the wall, which activates a strong suction, pulling in air from a vent that goes outside. Peter is about to explain how bringing in air from outside reduces humidity in this room and it's all quite genius until a seal pops in the door window, and the vacuum starts sucking in air from inside the forge as well.
"Well, I'll put in a work order on that. Now, you want to join our fair guild? have you ever invented anything?"

"Oh, as soon as you're ready! What branch would you like to learn? I'm fond of the Steamworks myself, but that's because I invented a bathtub you can stand in and get all steamy - it's very relaxing!"

There's a moment's pause before an elongated, 'Right...' escapes her lips.
"I'm unsure. I need to be able to repair and, perhaps, upgrade my arm with my knowledge. Steamworks or clockworks would be best to start with, I think."
"Oh, I love Steamworks! Also, our best Clockworks teacher is unavailable at the moment in Greevan ... But Harvey is great at Clockworks! He invented the vacuum in this room!"

Until further notice, MrPoppins can control Machinist guild NPCs for the purpose of interacting with Nais characters. I reserve the right to undo any actions taken by said NPCs in case he goes nuts.

"So you don't have any ideas and you want to join the greatest innovators in the known world? The people who make clocks tick, make the world turn and progress us into tomorrow? You sound like a perfect fit. We do need SOME idea, you know for bookkeeping purposes, don't worry, it can be a really crappy one."
A raised eyebrow is the response from the woman before she responds, "Don't you usually get trained how to make things before you start coming up with the ideas of what to make?
I mean, I'd like to be able to steam tea with my arm, I suppose? But I'd figure that'd be an easy thing."
"Hahahaha... no. No no no. We are not some super evil organization hell bent on hoarding secrets or a group of noble crime stoppers intent on saving the world, we are CREATING tomorrow, only the best in our lot! Problem with your idea is that some guy just came in here not two days ago and came up with a more efficient way to make tea. Damn clever fellow actually, as it ends up all you need is water, a metal apparatus, a tea bag and a source of fire. Shame actually, you were so close. Do you have any other ideas? If not you can still be a contributing member towards innovating tomorrow, we always need more test dummies."
The other eyebrow goes up before Sam replies, "It's remarkably hard to come up with an idea without knowing how this stuff works yet. But maybe... Uh... Steam... Does steam compact? Maybe let out a release of steam to throw my fist at obnoxious bureaucrats?"
