**Off one of the eastern sidestreets of The Throughfare, near The Artisan's Quarter, lies a quaint little shop that looks for all the world like a patchwork of various woods and stone, banded here and there with not-quite ornamental wrought iron. Above the door is a sign baring the the mark of a silver pen. This is The Scrivener's Nib.
Inside the shop one will find the shopkeep, a harried looking man named Horace Pince. Usually dressed in singed red smoking jacket and black slacks, he has tiny silver rimmed spectacles, a squarish head, a well-lined face and short mussed brown hair shot through with white.
All around the shop are countless books and tomes, piled on every surface and spilling off shelves. Horace ever seems to be cleaning the place, but makes little headway as a number of magical volumes have been lost amongst the jumble and keep reacting to the proximity of the others, triggering random magical events in the shop that at the least undo all Horace's tidying efforts and at most blow the occasion hole through a wall.**

Arl, getting tired from all this dashing, slows down for a bit as she buys the 5th and 6th level spirit tomes for a total of 330gold. This leaves her with only 8 gold to her name. She then happily walks off towards Veny's.
Will allow this since people were being told the wrong base cost for tome from other WMs and MK was planning everything by that, but from now on the base cost is 40 gold, not 30, same as spells.

Christov
He walked in behind the large Ogofta and they approached the counter. "Greetings sir, I am Christov, the Hunter, and this is Yoko the fox. We are currently on a bounty and I was wondering if you could tell me anything about this book, and more specifically the symbol on the front." He handed over the book.
Horace - Hrmmm....green cover, 7-pointed star....seems familiar. Let me check.
**He went to one corner of the shop and pulled out a massive leather ledger which he preceded to peruse through.**
Horace - Ah, no wonder I recognized it. It appears to be part of the cover of a series of antique books written by the founder of modern magic on magical history, theory and such. A bit of a hot ticket lately...where did you find this?

Horace - Tenchlas Boon has been collecting any volumes in this series I have been able to get my hands on for years, Voracious reader and magical history buff. But lately another party has been asking around about it, trying to outrace or outbid him on any volume I get. Never got a name, just an address to send a runner to when I find a new one. You said crime scene, is anyone hurt?

"That has yet to be determined, however the same Tenchlas Boon has gone mysteriously missing, we found one of these volumes burned on the hearth, and the information that you gave us is the closest thing we have been able to find to motive yet. Would you be willing to provide the address you were given?"
Horace - Ah, yes. One sec....oh, there is a room number here. It must be a inn. Its in the Artisans quarter. I think its the one run by that jakari woman who comes in every now and then.

"Your assistance is much appreciated hopefully you will have your customer back in no time." Says Christov as he takes back the book and presumably the room number?
**Makeda browsed for a while, picking up a Force Tome. Her last quest had been a nightmare, and all she could think of the whole time was how much she would have rather been reading a book. So, if the problem ever arose again, she'd be covered.**
