Olo and Damek, sure that Mr. Gonnadiefersure had things covered and could look after himself, had felt no need to follow him down his ally. They turned to the girl who appeared behind them. Olo spoke, using Charisma, "Greetings there. Do you know where the peacekeepers that were supposed to be watching this alley went?" He seemed completely at ease, but had Flight active as he stood on the ground just in case.
Arl - "There were supposed to be peacekeepers watching this alley? Wait, I should introduce myself. My name is Arl Lotreab. I'm trying to find a woman that went missing recently. The trail led to here..."
Olo then noticed the sigil of hers and figured either she stole it, or is an impressive peacekeeper. Either way he could at least trust that the badge was probably still recording. He then describes the woman they were here to check on, keeping up both spells. "If that is who you are looking for, she is supposed to be here and sort of alive still...but the guards are missing...or maybe they were in the other alley. We should go check on our associate who went to check the other side in case something terrible is happening. We can talk as we move that way." Towards the end he sort of started talking to himself more than expecting responses. He did begin to move onwards towards the other ally.
When the group made their way into the alley they saw the silhouette of a man leaned up against a wall a bit down. When they got closer they could see that it was in fact Bob. The man was clearly dead and had a dark bruise across his neck. His wrists were slit and a message was written on the wall in his blood: "Pretenders are less than the creatures of the earth, barely deserving of the perfect light."
Olo shook his head. "Bob seemed like he was going to be fine. Oh well. That's the price you pay for being overconfident in yourself I guess. But in better new it seems our killer was just here. You're a peacekeeper, got anything to help us find the guy? Or are we resorting go other says of finding the serial killer?" He said addressing Arl
**Arl's eyes widened as she saw the body. The killer was near- wait,**
Arl - "The woman! She should be in the other alley, right?!"
**The peacekeeper didn't wait for a response (nor, in fact, for her own mouth to finish up her sentence) before swiftly heading towards the other alley. She casts 'succor' as she does so. Gah, that's the first thing she should have done!**
Unfortunately there was no effect from succor... When she reached the alley she was greeted with a grizzly scene. The two peacekeepers were both decapitated on either end of the alley. A pale and frail woman lay crumpled against the wall. A message was written in blood". NONE ESCAPE THE PERFECT LIGHT."
**Arl steps back and motions to the roof and to the sky. Somewhere high above Cee notes the signal and moves low enough to have a good view of the rooftops.
Arl herself uses a combination of light platforms and high jumps to reach the roof of whatever building the woman is slumped against, a shield appearing in the peacekeeper's hand as she scales the edge (whether or not Cee notes seeing a visible attacker).**
**Arl's shield and blade fold together into a long spear as the warrior slides down the wall towards the pale woman. Arl balances on the spear itself when the weapon strikes the ground near the victim (she obviously avoids striking the woman herself). The strike causes a ring of identical spears to shoot up around both Arl and the woman; hopefully any invisible attackers in the area find themselves impaled. Arl then carefully slides down the spear, kicking the air as she does so. If none of that reveals an attacker, she checks to see if the woman is still alive.**
After what likely seemed like a rather silly display to her comrades, Arl found that the woman did not in fact have a pulse. The body was losing its warmth so it had likely been dead for almost an hour before she got there. Whether Arl had the skills to determine it or not.
Bartender -"Beats me on where he'll be tonight. As far as a bounty goes, he's a really big drunk fool. He's gotten a bit worse lately. Something about his father dying or some such. Anyway he sometimes breaks things... Actually he might show up tonight we do have mead on special, he loves that stuff."
Olo seeing the little girl run off, turned to Damek. "Check for any scent trails you can find that don't seem to fit. I'm going to check up and try to see that the little one is safe. Oh and don't be like Bob and not ask for help if you get attacked." He the flies upwards to get an aerial view of the area.
