Out of bounds to the public, the council chambers are held in a re-purposed manor in the Old City. The house doesn't stand out from those around it any obvious way, save for the wooden sign in the front garden proclaiming it to be so.
Matters of law are decided in this place, and criminals are brought to trial before the current council. All criminals are offered the chance to have a cleric present at their trial, though the right is often declined.
"Hi!" He said cheerily. "My name is Illu and this is Illium. We are here investigating the fire at the LaFleche warehouse, and had some questions to Mr. LaFleche. Is he around?" He said happily.
The woman pulled out a pair of eyeglasses, using them to check some notes in front of her.
Receptionist- He's currently in a meeting, if you'd like to have a seat he can see you shortly. I'll let him know its peacekeeper business related to his interests.
Receptionist- It seems his meeting is taking longer than anticipated... perhaps you have other avenues you'd like to pursue in the mean time? I'm sure we can arrange for you to be alerted when he is available.
The receptionist began ferreting around in a drawer.
What seemed like an age passed, and a man in a nice looking teal coloured suit approached the duo. His hair was mahogany coloured and cropped short and professional, his tie looked like it might be made of actual silver, but moved like normal fabric.
Councillor LaFleche- Good evening, Peacekeepers. I'm Councillor LaFleche, I was told you might have some news for me about the arson at one of my warehouses?
Illu shoots up, and says almost nervously "H-Hi, My name is Illu. And my companion here is Illium. At current time we don't have any good news for you, but we do have some news and some questions.
Your competitor Gord seems to have an alibi for that night and no evidence as to having been involved in the burning of your warehouse.
Do you know anything about this substance? (He pulls out the vial to show him.)
Do you have a list of the former employees who might have been upset enough to do this?
Do you have any ideas on who else may have had motive to do this?
And as a formality, I truly am sorry but I must ask, what were you doing on the night of the arson?"
He looks visible uncomfortable asking the councilman the last question. For the other questions he pauses for the councilman's responses before he asks the next one.
The councilor nodded as Illu asked his questions, not interrupting as the young peacekeeper rattled off the list of questions.
Councilor LaFleche- Right, I'm afraid I have no clue about that oil, perhaps you could seek some sort of expert. I'm sure my manager could provide you with that list if you asked. As for anyone else with motive, I don't think you have the time to investigate everyone who might want to harm me, I'd focus on those closer to the warehouse specifically. And as for my alibi, I believe I was in a meeting that night.
"I shall ask him for the list. He did not seem to think that they were as big of a deal as Gord. And I hate to ask, but do you know of an expert I could talk to about the oil? I am new to this city and don't know who all the important people are yet." He said with a smile.
**Laroc slipped into the Council Chambers, curious about the trial that was suppose to take place. It if was anything like an atarin trail this was sure to be a raucous affair, and if not he could always nap in the back.
The doors to the gallery opened to reveal a few people milling around. An empty row of seats at the far end of the room told Laroc the council was not yet ready to hear the case. Behind the gated section of the room there were only two people, one a large man with a whip at his belt, the other a scruffy looking man in manacles.
Laroc - "Well, I'm not a Cleric but I did stupid Rhetoric and Reasoning at the Eastern Academy. The finest education atarin and Elexian learning have to offer seems like it should trump some religious wackadoo."

He made his way into the gallery.**
Laroc - "Is there some sort of hold up here?"
Sgt Boros- This low-life requested cleric representation, no-one has volunteered.
Laroc - "Is that true, low-life? What's the story?"
He shrugged, seeming unconcerned with the manacles or his location.
**The atarin shrugged.**

Laroc - "Whelp! I don't know my client and have no idea what the case is about. This is going to be a breeze."
