**In the Artisans Quarter one can never been sure what one will find around the next corner, an out of control machinist device, an enchantment gone awry, a cloud of potion mists that will do gods only know what to you, or a resident of the quarter just as nervous as you are.
The Artisans quarter is home to the city's skilled workforce and the primary testing grounds for the city's experimental public works programs, which tend to run amok as often as not.
This makes the back alleys of this quarter good hiding place for those daring enough to try it, no one is likely to wander about and just happen upon them, and those actively seeking them tend to quickly find themselves facing far more pressing matters.**

Christov
The three unlikely companions entered the artisan's quarter and made directly for the house indicated on the paper. Christov took a moment to take in the appearance of the house and see if there were any obvious clues from the exterior.
**It was a small, well kept, singe-story house with a wooden white exterior. The door was open, blue rope hanging in front of it to cordon off the scene. Scorch marks were visible on the door frame. (though there were scorch marks somewhere on most houses in this district, so that may or may not be relevant.) A slight, older peacekeeper with silver hair and a stern expression exited the house as they arrived, nodding to them. **

**They entered a dimly lit living room. The walls and carpet had smears of mud and bits were littered with sand. A spike of stone was imbedded in the wall beside the door, the floorboards near the door to another room were broken upwards. The coach was cleaves clean in twain.**

He looks closely at the stone spike, examining it and the impact area for clues, and smelling it using his enhanced senses to try to detect anything unusual.

**The doorway with the upturned floorboards led into a library/study. There was an overturned shair and dozens of books knocked off the shelves. Soot and ash from the fireplace were all over the floor, as were the halfburnt log that presumably had once fueled it.**

In the first room was the mud boot prints, boot smudges, hand prints, hand smudges, looked like someone was dragged, was the sand in piles or just skittered about like someone was trowing handfuls of it? Is the couch a clean cut does it look like someone took more than one swing at it. or is it splintered like something heavy hit it?
**The sand is evenly scattered across the floor, as if thrown or sprayed. The mud on the walls is mostly small clumps, as if thrown against something and splattered, though there is a bit smear about 6' up on one side of the doorway, as if something muddy had rubbed against it. On the floor there are a few muddy footprints, larger than a normal human's, but they faded by the time they reached the door. The couch is cleanly sliced in half, and it looks as if by a single blow.**

**There was no sign, visual or olfactory that anyone had been in the chimney, though there was a faint smell of singed skin and hair coming from the burned remnant still laying the hearth.**

**The paper scraps only had bits and pieces of edges of words or letters, nothing decipherable. They were very old though. The leather had a small 7 pointed star in gold ink.**

Dean: "Who lived here before? i suppose we cant truly start looking until we know who it is that we lost. Also did they know any kind of magic?"
Sam: "That's take a great deal of strength to cut through a couch, hey Christov do you think of you had a sword, a large one like mine could you cut through this couch like this in one swing?"
Dean: "by the look of the boot print, possibly the couch, and by the mark on the door, im guessing, just guessing here but i would say the person we are looking for is, 7 to 8 feet tall, probably 200 to 300 pounds. But how did he get in."
Dean walks to the door and inspects it more closely. he inspects everything. the door the door jam the lock he looks for cracks if anything is broken.
Christov
"I'm not convinced anyone actually entered... This appears to be some sort of arcane book.. Perhaps our missing person, got himself into trouble without the assistance of an intruder... Possibly some sort of transformation. and to answer your question... No I could not."
**The open door's knob and its locking mechanism had been melted, more heavily on the outside side of the door than the inside side. The wood around these areas was scorched but unburned. There was an indent on the outside of the door as well, and a broken chain hanging from the inside.**

Dean: "ok so from looking at the door who ever kidnapped our person tried to do it with some from of stealth but found the door like so they broke the chain holding it closed."
Christov
"So it was an intruder after all." He walks over and takes a closer look at the smudge on the door frame to see if anything could be ascertained from it, and smells it to make sure that it is in fact mud.
