Before the appearance of Sylvan, the land on which the city stands was used as a Sentinel cemetery. Most of the graveyard had been washed into nonexistence when the night city appeared, all but one small stretch of land. Here the cemetery was untouched, for reasons yet to be understood. The Sentinels, known for their disfavoring views of Sylvan, have fenced the area and set up a guard watch to overlook what remains of their once sacred burial place. They have since earned "Ghostguard" as a nickname, although they are none too enthusiastic of it. The guard has its quarters in a small, insipid structure.
In the constant night of Sylvan, Kherren cast a long, broad shadow. He made his way into the Sentinel cemetery, looking for whoever was in charge of organising potential hunters.
The man didn't react to the garr's presence immediately. Kherren saw he was carving a strikingly lifelike likeness of a land shark. The thin man turned a pock marked face towards him, revealing one milky eye. When he spoke his voice was low and smooth.
Karack - "Felt you coming, mountain man. Looking for work?"
He began adding minute details to the statuette. He nodded slowly but didn't respond verbally. Kherren got the impression that he was pleased with the answer.
Kherren closed his eyes and let his sense of the earth reach out, looking for Whaghren's current location under the earth. He found the land shark surprisingly close by and couldn't help but wonder if the beast knew he was being watched by the hunter.
Kherren nodded; that was true. The lutharins were nothing like the alogeans, the sekoras nothing like the southern forest, chakosa not at all like nadra.
He looked over the statuette with a practiced eye, looking for any inconsistencies or flaws. There were a few long minutes of silence before he spoke again.
Kherren- As barbarians or conquerors, certainly. We are born of the mountains and yet most of my brothers are content to tower over greel and do the occasional mercenary work. We can be more.
Karack nodded and seemed to accept that answer. a few minutes later he finished the figurine. He held it to his lips and blew through it, producing a low note that was barely loud enough to hear. Waghren surfaced before them and Karack gave the beast a nod of respect before he returned to the earth. He held the statuette out to Kherren.
Karack - "This will call your ally from any distance, as it is linked to his spirit."

Kherren- I am honoured to accept this gift, it will come in useful I'm sure.
The garr turned his attention to Iago as he approached and professed his abilities.
Kherren- You may find the cousins of dragons put up a better fight than oscarans.
"Good, I've killed too many Oscarans. Not a challenge anymore. What's your name?"
