[Epicrin] Newleaf Park

**Located in Epicrin's Artisan District, Newleaf is the city's most unique and utterly dangerous park.

The home of the city's builders, technicians and magical skilled workers, the Artisan's quarter is where the city rulers do their trial runs of cutting edge technologies and magics they are thinking of implementing on a citywide level, reasoning its best to keep these things nearby the people that can best appraise and, if need be, fix them.

Newleaf is the hotbed of the quarter's experiments, where nature has been modified and augmented bizarre ends and you never know if the tree shading you will water itself, burst into flames, or try to eat you.

Managing this mess is the parks fulltime groundkeeper and wrangler, Coltran Dayle, a harried man trying to preserve beauty amid madness.**

After properly grooming her new-found creature, getting it ready, a matter of "local flora" caught her eye in the newspaper. She rolled her eyes, thinking aloud, "How hard could it really be?" Walking alongside her new pet, she headed to the park in question, inquiring about the "flora job."

**She found a frazzled looking man in leathers, bespectacled and covered in assorted burns and scars, sitting outside guard gate, talking an enthusiastic greel.**

Shalin had never seen such a puzzled, frustrated, and perturbed look all on the same face before. "You said you had some kind of problem with floral arrangements?" she asked the man. "And you were looking for people to help with it?"

Coltran - Ah yes, some, well, er, particularly aggressive, flora. You are the second to arrive.

Greel - Hi, I'm Pheegrl.

"Pheegrl is your name? Mine is Shalin," she introduced herself to her ally on the job. "Not quite sure how flora could be aggressive, but I'll take your word for it."

Pheegrl - I am not even sure what flora is, but I'm a Sentinel, and if its dangerous I am here to help my brothers.

**Behind the greel, a kitten ran by, chased by a peacock.**

Shalin's eyes followed the running cat and bird, chuckling as it looked like they were playing a game of some sort. "Did I miss something important?" she asked, turning her head toward Coltran, acting like she felt guilty about being distracted.

Coltran - No, just hoping we get a few more volunteers before we get started. Not exactly the sort of thing we should attempt short handed.

Sokai wondered into the park. "I see i'm not the first to arrive."

He glanced at his soon to be companions, "Ascetics? The both of you right? Nice to meet you, the names Sokai."

Pheegrl - I'm Pheegrl, I will be tending to the injured.

"nice to meet you! Do you know much about what we are here for? Flora doesn't seem to dangerous from my experience."

Standing next to her hunting cat, Shalin saw Sokai wandering into the park. She couldn't help but approach the visitor. "Are you part of the flora cleanup crew?" she asked.

Coltran - This is Newleaf Park, home to the city's botanical experiments. Ones gotten out of hand.

To Shalin "I would like to be! What a (handsome or pretty) cat you have with you."

To Coltran "In what way? If you don't mind me asking."

Shalin turned toward Coltran, giving him her full attention at the mention of the mission. "What's so bad about these things? They're plants--what kind of harm could they really do to a city this size?"

Coltran - They are large, they rend apart anything animate or inanimate that gets in their growth path, and they are spreading.

"I wonder if the plant would be of any use in herbalism." Sokai found a seat nearby and waited for either it to start or more people to come.

"Its a nice day out at least. Maybe doing this will help get through the walkabout. I heard people who complete it gets some special understanding or something." Sokai neglected to mention that he wanted to do the walkabout to find some inner peace, which he desperately wanted.

After a little while waiting Sokai figured he had time to go do some chores before more help arrived.

"Ill be back soon!" He shouted while running off

Sokai returned!

"Well that was fun, did i miss anything?" He asked

Coltran - No....hopefully someone else shows up soon.

Streep - No, I was prepared to take on the beast. But when the rocks gave out under my feet, it left me wide open.

Laelaps - That must have been horrible Streep, but I'm glad to have a you as my Bondmate because of it though.

Laelaps walked over toward the gathering group of Sentinels.

Laelaps - I'm here to help out on the Sentinel job that was in the paper, are you the person I need to talk to?

Coltran - Oh thank goodness. This should be enough, I hope. Follow me, please...
