**A dark edifice of decadent glory, formerly a royale residence in times past; that Count Cardalu boasts the purest connection to the former line of monarchs is never far from the other noble's attention. A deep feel of power flows through the very air surrounding the building, giving off an aura of pure fear. Odd sets of ivy cozened fey, demon, and vampire faces look down on you in sad muted interest from the bas-relief carved in the stonework eaves. A magnificent stained glass window sits in a single square clock tower at the front of the property, depicting wingéd-beings feeding and ravaging a panic stricken and innocent mountain populace. A hedge maze, of all things grows on the back lawn of the property, giving off an eerily sickening glow of purple shadow nettle. If you pay close attention, there is a rushing sound of a small stream somewhere off in the distance. Entering the building you are greeted by a shivering chill that passes over you like cold death.**
It was raining when the figure approached the Chateau du Monde. Covered head to toe in a hooded leather coat, the man seemed to pay no attention to either the rain or the intimidating reliefs that sneered down at him. The figure pushed into the building shivering slightly as the chill swept over him, but nonetheless striding into the center of the room. The man's voice was hollow as he spoke, as if he were reading them from a script.
**An elegant young woman was making her way down the stairs of the grand entrance hall, she was dressed in black lace and a form-fitting red bodice. There was a wild look in her blood-red eyes as she surveyed this mysterious, unannounced figure.**
Camia - And who pray tell are you— //
Cardalu - That will be all, Cami. Please, sir. I am the Count Cardalu, at your service.
**The haughty young woman sneered, but left rather hastily as she was bid.**
The vampire's keen eyes were able to pierce through the darkness and under the leather hood to discern the soft, rounded features of an Elexian man. Young enough and well cared for enough to be a lordling. His eyes were grey and his pupils larger and fuller than fear or darkness would account for.
Figure- My master wishes to let you know of an opportunity.
**The vampires fiery eyes narrowed accusingly, but the motion was so fast it was a wonder if the boy noticed at all. 'This little lordling presumes to know of my house... hmph. We shall see.'**
Cardalu - Oh? I wasn't aware that my affairs were of note to Elexian circles.
Elexian- Ah, but the opportunity is not one to be offered, but taken. A problem that the rest of the seats think can be fixed will only get worse. Someone in your position could benefit from that.
Cardalu - The other cities are no concern of mine, boy. However, power is something I'm familiar with.
**The atmosphere within the mansion seemed to grow in visible darkness, as did Cardalu, the walls around him seemed to shrink on themselves, and the temperature become bitingly cold.**
The young lordling's eyes twitched a little as the world closed in, Cardalu became immediately aware that beneath the heavy leather coat the boy had wet himself. He didn't move an inch however, and his tone remained hollow.
Elexian- Very impressive. I trust you intend to take advantage of the growing situation, then?
Elexian- I'm actually heading south, though thank you for the offer. Enjoy your evening, Count Cardalu.
With that the lordling turned and headed out of the chateau's large front door, leaving a few drops of his fright on the count's floor as he headed out into the rain.
Cardalu - Things seem to be moving ahead rather quickly. Now, just to determine where in Nuit's name that woman is off to now!
**The little mess from earlier was no where in sight as the Count disappeared within the shadows of the manse without much warning, seeming to have melted into thin air.**
To live is to hope, and while we breathe, we hope and live.
Figure- I have a message for Cardalu.
Camia - And who pray tell are you— //

Figure- My master wishes to let you know of an opportunity.
Cardalu - You may continue, my young Elexian friend. What is this opportunity you speak of?
To live is to hope, and while we breathe, we hope and live.
Elexian- A chance for your children to have a greater inheritance.
Cardalu - Oh? I wasn't aware that my affairs were of note to Elexian circles.
To live is to hope, and while we breathe, we hope and live.
Elexian- They are of note to my master.
Cardalu - Most curious. And am I to learn of this master of yours? Or am I supposed to make a decision based on his invitation alone.
To live is to hope, and while we breathe, we hope and live.

Cardalu - Tell your master he can consider it done. Will you be needing transportation back to Elexia? Shame to be caught in a storm like this.
To live is to hope, and while we breathe, we hope and live.
