Rochev- As you should all be aware, Sylvan is a city cloaked in a veil of eternal night. The enchantment, or more accurately, enchantments that maintain this effect are supposed to be centered on the city and end at the perimeter. Stepping through those gates should be the first moment darkness falls on you.
Rochev- Your task will be to set the enchantments back to their normal levels to fix the perimeter of the veil. The most likely reason its not working is that someone has managed to get in and upset the balance of the magics in there.
**The feyling mage was a little annoyed she had been in too much of a hurry to notice night falling sooner than the bounds of the normal perimeter.**
Levana - . . . Someone getting in to upset the balance, is that a common occurrence? Because this just doesn't smell like some two-bit hedge-mage out of Epicrin in for some fresh adventure. Any ideas on who or what we're really dealing with here?
Rochev- If I knew I would tell you. Our hope is that some bandit or thug group has set up inside and one of them is experienced enough with magic to be tweaking things without knowing what they're doing.
Maren - "Well if I had to guess I'd say they were more likely to have a curious machinist with them... Mage types tend to be more cautious about such things. Unfortunately that's the reason that machinists have a shorter life expectancy than most."
**Levana folded her arms beneath her breasts, having been about to interject further when Maren spoke, but deciding against it, changed tact.**
Levana - [Sighs deeply]. . . Have you two dullards listened to anything she's said so far? Anyways, I say the sooner we begin, the best shot we'll have at this. The facility, it's not very far from Sylvan I'd wager?
Maren - "Now now, squabbling amongst ourselves won't help us accomplish our goal and I'm sure we can all agree that both the controlling of magic and machine take a sharp mind. Madame Rochev, would you consider a group this size acceptable for the task at hand or should we await further interested parties?"
**Meanwhile, a burly nadrask with an even burlier hammer had come, and was listening on the sidelines.**

Sing lustily and with good courage.
Be aware of singing as if you were half dead,
or half asleep:
but lift your voice with strength.
Be no more afraid of your voice now,
nor more ashamed of its being heard,
than when you sang the songs of Satan.
Rochev- I have little other information I can give you, I'm afraid. Your heading a little south of Sylvan, tucked into the ground long before the mountains start.
She looked over the group when asked about their numbers.
Rochev- With two machinists I'd prefer a fifth for extra protection, but if you prefer not to wai- ah, fortunate timing.
**The dusky mage ignored the beasts curring growls, instead choosing to sweep the two proffered scrolls into her spindly hands and into her open Void spell.**
Levana - [Aside: This is going to be tedious...] - Well, pleasantries over, I can carry these without fear of losing them.
Maren frowned. His initial thought that someone who's skills lay in navigation should hold the map...But It seemed like a moot point at this juncture so he remained quiet.
A hair over four foot tall and almost as grey as the metal that made up the fence railing beside him, a greel made his way towards the house of lords. Hands shoved in two of the umpteen pockets that made up his jacket, Damit approached the building with a curious eye.
Rain-would you look at that! I diden't even notice until now. What caused it? Has time gone by Or is somthing causing night early?
Come on and check it out. You know you want to.
Go ahead and run, you'll only die tired.
Those who might never meet are pooled together

Rain -A Mage calling a machinist dull? that machine must really be broken, the real world is quite distorted indeed.
Levana - Pretty much. If by machinist, you mean a well-trained island monkey, then yes. Though I was not aware primates were indigenous to Nadra.
To live is to hope, and while we breathe, we hope and live.

Odd - The Artillerist is right. Besides, we can all settle our issues after we get this job done and claim our pay.

Madame Rochev leaned forward and held out two scrolls.
Rochev- One of these is the map and the other contains a guide to how the enchantments should be balanced to focus the veil.

Rain-well, let's get a move on. We're burning daylight.
