Elexia was a place known for many business of ill repute, each with its own distinct reputation. Some of the bars are known for hosting a variety of voluptuous harlots, some for being a thief's paradise and some for having bloody bar fights almost every night. The one distinction The Hound had was that it was a rather boring place, a small hole in the wall that was virtually empty most nights and that most people didn't even know existed. On a particularly foggy eve the bar seemed more dead than usual, a tall oscaran bartender polished some glasses, seemingly unconcerned by the utter lack of business. There was one client sitting at a table all his own, a small jakari dressed in an exquisite robe of black and gold, sipping on a blood red cocktail with a seemingly perpetual smile across his face. He was the one who had posted an ad in the local crier, a simple and benign request that read "adventurers needed to serve as cargo escorts for a delivery to the southern lands, the pay will be high and the risk minimal."
A lone drunkard entered the establishment, club strapped against his back and a polar cub at his side. He took a seat at the bar, seemingly ignorant to the jakari merchant adjacent to him. Although the barkeep kept his back to the man and made no notice of his arrival, he immediately barked up in an abrasive tone.
Bobby– Barkeep, glass o' the strongest whiskey ya got, and something to munch on for the boy!
At the mention of the word boy, Bobby's faithful ally Fred seemed to perk up and sniff the air, trying to get a waft of whatever tasty treat was about to come his way.
Golan burst into the bar, eyes wide, and waited for a few seconds to see who got startled. Usually when Golan burst into a bar, between his glowing red eyes and peacekeeper sigil, someone got extremely nervous, or else decided they'd had too much to drink and made a hasty exit. But there was almost no one in this bar. Might as well give it up and sit down at the table with the Jakari.

**Atropos cautiously entered the bar. He'd only recently come to the mainland, and all he'd really had time to do so far was stop by the local branches of the guilds he'd chosen to join, wanting to make sure he had a place to stay and tools to survive first and foremost.
He was already regretting that decision.**
Bob - Move it!
**Atropos stumbled to the side and into the door as a large, pudgy badger badgered his way into Atropos's leg and past him into the bar. **
Atropos - Aren't you supposed guide and help me?
Bob - I'm helping you to get your ass moving. Now take a seat and order me some bread.
**Atropos sighed and followed the badger towards the table where the man and the...the cat-man? Really? Okay...thats new to him...where they were talking.**

Sling was clutching an edition of the paper that contained that advertisement when he walked into the bar. He made a habit of both frequenting as many different establishments as possible, and reading every edition of every Elexian paper. Today he was presented with a perfect opportunity to hit two birds with one bullet.
He finished reading the last article in the paper as he headed over to the Jakaria, the Peacekeeper and the Ananke. Sling tucked the paper under his arm as he stepped next to Golan, waiting to hear the Jakari's reply.

**A very interesting looking jakari pair walk in with a barrage of loud noises. Some laughter many more the jangle of bells.**
"So who's paying something for next to nothing? Because we will gladly take that, and anything else you got" he said with a crooked grin.
**A robed figure falls from a hole in the ceiling, landing on the table with a loud "THUMP". The table doesn't break, apparently made of tougher stuff. The figure, an odd looking dryad, turns to the barkeep and gives him a thumbs up.**
"Insect problem solved. Payment will cover hole in ceiling. Was going collapse soon regardless, but will not press issue."
**Eldareon followed in shortly after the pair of Jakari, and the clumsy Dryad . . . he quickly scanned the rest of the bar and it's occupants, making note of each of them in turn. Then striding over to the gathering party, spear in hand, he joined the queue forming behind Sling.**

Bobby received a tall drink of whiskey which he swigged down in one gulp before releasing a loud belch. A red meat sandwich was brought out for Fred which Bobby promptly took a large bite out of. The bear began to growl.
Bobby– Damn Freddy, just makin' sure twas good for ya! I swear ya risk your ass for me on a regular basis and act like yur about ta maul me every time I take a taste o somethin'!
As the bear finished the sandwich in no more than a few bites, Bobby got a refill and shambled over to the table with the jakari and the other adventurers.
`````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````` The barkeep sighed as the dryad damaged his bar and went back to polishing glasses as though nothing had happened, the apathy he had towards his job was palpable.
As the crowd gathered around the jakari he took a sip of his cocktail before staring up to acknowledge the crew. He had deep, seemingly crystalline eyes, well manicured whiskers and a soft lush black fur which ensconced his body. Up close his wealthy aura was even more noticeable, the man seemed to drape himself in gold chains, ruby earnings and jade wristlets to the point of garishness, seemingly just because he could. He spoke in a tone that was upbeat almost to the point of being annoying, as though he had just been startled.
Jabril– Ah yes you've come to the right man, glad to see such a hearty turnout! My name is Jabril and it is an absolute pleasure to see such a diverse crew full of youthful exuberance! Please take a seat all, can I buy any of you a drink? This bar is certainly not the finest in the land but free from prying ears who may wish to cause problems for us and a few of the house cocktails are surprisingly sumptuous. As always I am happy to make recommendations.
Bobby slurged down his second glass of whiskey.
Bobby– I'll take another one o' these!
Jabril– Of course my good man.
Jabril signaled to the barkeep and a third glass of whiskey was brought over, Bobby smiled.
**Eldaréon eyed the Jakari man with distaste; after a memorable return voyage on an Elexian Galley in which some Nadrask mercenaries didn't quite make it to port, his patience was wearing a bit thin. Before taking a seat he motioned for the same as Bobby, but made it a double. Skye-piercer he propped next to him casually. To the practiced eye it was clear he could draw it in the blink of an eye.**
Daréon - Which begs the question, why the need for so many of us?
Sling ordered a water, preferring to stay sharp and focused given his past experience with waking up without memories. He took a seat next to Atropos and began running a coin over his knuckles as he waited for the jakari's answer.
Golan had an iron sword lashed to his back, and it was pretty clear that it would take a second or two to draw it. Compared to this lot, he was woefully unprepared.
"What is the unrealistically worse case scenario? If the job is too easy I must suspect it is suicide. Please detail the exact form of suicide we will be tasked with overcoming so that I am properly prepared. Also, cup of water please."
**The dryad gets off the table and takes a seat.**
The jakari had a downturn expression and Bobby made audible "psh" sound at the two orders, regardless, the jakari got up and left without a word, promptly returning with a water and a lemonade after leaving a pouch of gold at that bar that was certainly well more than the price of three drinks.
Jabril– Why you deny yourself one of lives few great pleasures is truly beyond me but your questions are on point. The risk truly is minimal, the vast majority of these dealings go without incident, however, a wise merchant who can afford protection is always in his best interest to supply it, we will be dealing with the possibility of highway men and native raiding parties.
The jakari smirked at Darion.
Jabril– As for the quantity, I will not mince words, I am an arms dealer with a prominent market amongst a particular tribe of garr, the Tok-leen, known colloquially as the brotherhood life. I sell them weapons for discounted whiskey which is in turn sold to a local bottler right here in Elexia, we all churn a profit. It may not be the most glamorous work in the world but it is more honest than most. While we have a thriving working relationship many outsiders fail to develop, I expect no problems whatsoever from them, the garr have an odd admiration for showings of might. Arriving with a coterie of adventurers unloading crates of weapons helps with my reputation and brings me a certain advantage at the bargaining table as experience has taught me well.
Just then, a rather bubbly and hiccuping woman burst out of the bathroom
Sorry cutie that mead goes right through me, now back to that bet of if I can make you pur..."
The woman stopped her sentence just after she wished that she had, at the sight of all the people who had appeared in the bar during the short time she was in the bathroom.. She immediately began to blush..
"On second thought I guess I'll have to take a rain check"
A rather drunk unkempt man with a polar bear cub resting on his lap gave her a prompt pat on the ass from his seat at the jakari's table, feeling it was the appropriate way to greet an attractive stranger.
Bobby– Aye mead! now that's the kinda lass I wish I was travelin' with!
Her blushing face quickly turned straight at the feeling of her bottom being touched. She quickly drew a kris in her right hand and held it at the man's hand.
If you wish me not to take you're fingers, I suggest you keep them to yourself"
**Atropos, having already been expecting violence, jumped to his feet backed away from the confrontation, hand going to the hilt of his sword and head looking every which way waiting for blood to be spilled.**
Fred perked up and stared at the scenario which was about to occur, worried for his owner but not wanting to escalate the scenario he merely gazed, praying Bobby wouldn't say something dumb enough to cost him a finger. Bobby raised his free hand in the air, palm open, to show a lack of aggression.
Bobby– Easy there girlie, just trying to pay a fine woman like yerself a compliment twas all!
