I noticed that the discussion went from here to the starting 'meet and greet' innistrad thread. I would like to remedy that. So, Question to those in the BETA: Does everyone want to simply start in Ravnica, so things are a bit easier, and maybe getting training(possibly for the second colors that people may be wanting) and exp for the BETA Run?
Whatever happens, I don't think we should stick everyone in one big thread. Small groups are less cluttered and move more smoothly.
Everything scares me... kitties scare me... squirrels scare me... corpses....corpses bring forth a pletora of confusing feeling which i prefer not to dwell on...:p
I agree with the both of you. We should split ourselves up in whatever parts we want to be and if our storylines intersect we just combine the threads and work from there. The Kessig Forest would probably have worked well if it wasn't for the timing (which just happens unfortunately).
So far from what I've seen we have: Ravnica
Me
Caex
Raikou
Lor/Sha
Fluffy
Arkantos
Unkown
Everyone Else (sorry this is due to laziness on my part)
Also how many WPL's do we have exactly so that we don't stretch Thorn and Burst too thin. It's easy to control one Thread but several between just two WPL's (one of whom is also a player) seems like something will go wrong.

Still trying to get people's opinions on us all starting in Ravnica, just consider it the Blind Eternities way of pushing the massive amount of Planeswalkers whose Sparks just activated together.
I think most of us are willing to start off in Ravnica so I would say yes, starting us off at Ravnica would be wise. However after BETA, I recommend that you put in the Character Creation thread these kind of options:
1. You know the Planeswalker Guild
2. You are a Walker that Stumbled onto Ravnica
However specifically make it so that their aren't any actual bonuses for either option.
I don't mind starting on Ravnica (Though I don't know the story or the plane well, so I'll be lost until then.), but if we start in different places, I'm starting on Bant.

Actually I think Eron would be more comfortable in his homeland of Bant. I was going to get him sent to Ravnica to let him explore a bit but I think this makes more sense for him storywise.

A mere ten days after the Mending, a young knight of Valeron and a young ranger of Eos made a discovery that would change Alara forever.

I'd sugggest letting the players choose how their character's spark activates and what plane they end up on after their first planeswalk (which would be included in their bio). It can make for interesting scenarios for beginning characters. Are they still on their home plane but with amazing and unfamiliar new powers to play with? Are they tossed into an unfamiliar world with no idea how they got there? It gives players more control over their characters, which is always a good thing.
It makes for more interesting backstory than "Bam, your character is a 'Walker and he's now on Bant." My character, for example, has a really good backstory-related reason for why his spark flared up which ties directly into what his current motivations and goals are, and why he's still on Ravnica instead of running to another plane to escape the Dimir.
I'd certainly rather have control over that than being randomly Blind Eternity'd.
In fact, I'd go as far as making it manditory in all bios to describe how a character's spark first ignited and where they ended up. The PCs are supposed to be 'Walkers from the beginning, so making every new player RP a spark scene would get tedious and redundant fast.

It is required. It says right in the rules, "All we really need is how your spark ignited."
Bio: What has your character's life been like before this? This section can be as in-depth or as thin as you want. The only information that is required is the circumstances in which his or her spark ignited making your character a true planeswalker.
I agree that every character should already have a spark in them.
What should vary, though, is their knowledge degree of that spark.
In my character's case, he's aware of his planeswalking but has not known how to do it by himself.
Are we going to put Innistrad and Mirrodin as official planes? Especially since we already have one character from Innistrad and we started off in Kessig Forest?

OH YES PLEASE!
I would probably change my character if that happens lol.
And btw, Zendikar has the least of sets available among other planes.
Why not allow Rise of Eldrazi? Is it still being reviewed?

I think it'd work better if we had everyone start on the plane of their choice, like how things will be once the beta ends.

Innistrad for sure, I'm just waiting for Innistrad to create the sub-forum for it. We'll probably have Mirrodin, too, but I'm not sure when we'll add it.

All sets in the Zendikar block are allowed. I'm pretty sure the only reason they aren't listed as legal is because they may have not been released when KoolKoal made the rules.
Well. Perhaps if there is a reason why it would be complicated is that currently the official story around New Phyrexian is still developing.
It's in the web comics.
By the by, do we (the players) have a chance to meet current canonical planeswalkers (As NPCs)?
I would prefer we didn't. Meeting "Canonical" characters almost never ends well: you either want to kill them, work with them and create trouble, or down right show much better you are then them.

Nicey, thanks again Burst!
What's the problem?
No problem.

Nvm, I was trying to come up with a good reason why it might be a problem but all I can think of is "Phyrexians exist". I'll quietly shut up now. >_>

As for the Canon PW, thats being kept a secret.
Yes to the questions about available sets, minus Mirrodin(see above), just take a look at the Revamped Rules thread.
For the BETA, lets try to keep it to Alara, Lor/Sha, and Ravnica, if we can.
Opinions are like new ideas: Everyone has them, and they should be heard.(At least constructive opinions that help what we are trying to do.)
