Zalara nods. "Indeed, this is terrible...rogue elementals can be quite dangerous if their summoning rituals are not properly completed."
Motioning to her satchel, she adds, "These gems are the proof of my years as a shaman, learning about and communing with the elemental spirits. Please get me in contact with this master pyromancer. He will know which needs are the most pressing. While it would be helpful if we could track down his wayward student to determine exactly what went wrong with the ritual, there may not be time for that if either the town or the southern forests are in danger."
"If you're interested in the bounty then I can tell you exactly where you need to head, which would be for the southern forests. Tracking the elemental should be fairly easy as it should be traveling through the grass plains right about now. When you come back from this bounty we can talk about the bounty on the apprentice if you are still interested in seeing the matter through." spoke Jack with an air of disinterest.
"Very well," says Zalara. "Tell me where to find the elemental now, and I shall deal with the apprentice later." A newfound sense of conviction creeps into her words.
Jack nodded and handed a copy of the parchment detailing the bounty on the elemental to Zalara. Then with a smile he said, "You'll want to head out immediately through the east gates of Estark. Take the road to Sursi just past the borders of Kush. Once there you should be in the southern grasslands of Erg Mirab. The signs of the elemental's passing should be obvious. It should be roaming somewhere around the southern forests of Burbar bordering Erg Mirab."
"Off with you then! Time is money in this case!" joked Jack as he turned back to his desk.

After receiving a notice from the city guard, Jack gets up posting his newest bounty on the main board.
High Risk Bounty!
Ignian of the Flame is wanted for several known accounts of assassination. He is a merciless killer, ruthless and efficient. He is suspected to be apart of a brotherhood of assassins trained in deadly use of pyromancy. This man is wanted dead by the city of Estark. He was last seen roaming the Tonga Mountains north of Kush' borders. He may or may not be traveling with companions. He is in his late forties, has brown eyes, three facial scars, one on the lip, one on the left cheek, and one above his right eye. He has medium length raven black hair peppered with silver hair.
Seek out Jack at the Jack of all Trades shop for further information and bounty collection! Reward of 225 gold upon proof of his demise! Provide Jack with Ignian's head and saber to collect.
(OOC: This is a high risk bounty with a likely outcome of death for characters weak against fire magic. Take up the bounty at your own risk! As such there is a recommended level of 3 or higher. Up to two players may attempt this quest together.)

Zalara lets herself through the door of Jack's. "I'm here to report."
She pulls the Inferno Elemental spell gem out of her satchel with a flourish and presents it to Jack. Then she encloses the crystal in her fist and makes a pointed gesture at the bounty labeled "Foolish Pupil."
"Ah, the first to return from a bounty! Congratulations!" replied Jack as he walked over to Zalara examining the gem she presented. Then leaning back against his table he looked at her and asked, "So, will you be keeping the gem or trading it in for the gold reward?"
"The master indicated that the apprentice is probably roaming the outskirts of the town, hiding in the caves of the mountains. You'll need to head north east into the mountains just north of Estark to reach the mountain village, Falme." said Jack as he pulled out a parchment with details on the bounty, handing it to Zalara. "Any questions?"
"Well..." Zalara considers. "Is there anything that you have learned from the residents of Falme, or travelers in the mountains, that isn't written in this parchment? I'd like to narrow my search to a little smaller area than 'half of Kush', if that's possible. For instance, do they suspect he's come into town recently? And from what direction?"
"Anything I know would now be out of date. The student has been seen around the town though. Using friends to get food and supplies. Your best bet may be to check at a tavern for the latest information on him" replied Jack.
Your quest thread is up so when you are done here you can go straight there.
David entered Jack's shop looking for work after examining some of the other shops around the city of Estark. He noticed, the various posters on the board and wondered which one he should try first. The one about the Phyrexian Artifice seemed interesting but he realized he might not be at that level of strength to handle it just yet. The Wolf Pelt seemed too easy for his tastes but the Verdant Wurm seemed right up his alley. Taking the poster down he placed it on the counter. "Is this bounty still available?"
Atticus entered Jack's shop and examined the bounty board, behind David. hm... well, these seem difficult. Atticus thought, All man, that guy took the one I was going for. Oh whatever, I hate wurms. Wolves are more up my alley anyway. Atticus grabbed the Alpha Pelt bounty. "I'd like to try this for size, Jackie."
David notice Atticus and gave a friendly smile to him. "Good luck to you on your bounty, hope we both come back alive and whole from these things. What is your name?"
As David was looking at Atticus he noticed a rather long black wooden walking stick come flying down on Atticus' head as he heard Jack growl, "The name's Jack, not Jackie, not J, just Jack. Get it right the next time you try to use my name or you'll be feeling the sting of my blades!"
Jack withdrew the stick and set it down behind his side of the table. Then sizing the two of them up he looked to David saying, "So you're interested in taking down the Wurm?"
Jack then looked at Atticus saying, "And you're interested in the Wolf?"
David gave a smile at Jack's outrage at Atticus. He made a mental to never refer to Jack by the list of nicknames that was given. When Jack asked him about his interest in the Wurm bounty he nodded.
"Yes, new in this city and I figure getting a job as a bounty hunter is the fastest way to earn money and some prestige."
Atticus almost lost his fingers reaching over to pat at Jack as a blade had appeared in Jack's hand as if out of no where. Jack glared at Atticus saying, "I'm not the touchy feely type. I suggest you learn to keep your hands to yourself around me if you want to keep those digits. And you right, getting a wolf pelt for a noble is an easy bounty."
Turning to David he said, "Bounty hunting would earn you a reputation. Not sure if it's the kind you would want..."
Jack frowned looking David up in down, sizing him up saying, "Are you a good tracker?"

Jack frowned looking David up in down, sizing him up saying, "Are you a good tracker?"
"I'm a fast learner, plus I've heard these things don't leave a hard trail to find." David said looking determine. "I'll deal with whatever reputation I get. Just tell me what I need to know and where I need to go. I'll handle the rest. You'll know I succeeded when I come back alive and holding this things gem."
You don't have to quote my posts when you do a response unless there have been a lot of posts since your last one in between. Also note that not all wild creatures you encounter will automatically transform into a gem of said creature. That only happens on rare occasions unless your character happens to have the Binding Mastery which allows you to transform creatures you encounter into summons. Check out the rules under the Path and Mastery spoiler if you think your character is going to be interested in that mastery later on. So far I have only role played one creature transforming into it's own gem and that was because of the story involved in that quest. With bounties where you are hunting a target that is a desired trophy, the reward is either gold or a casting of the spell provided by the noble that issued the bounty.
Jack arcs a surprised eyebrow saying, "You're capable of binding creatures? And I only mention tracking as it's not uncommon for these creatures to have a nest together. A tracker would be able to tell the difference between markings. They'd be able to tell you how many different Wurms are in the area based off of markings in the territory."

Jack held his grin as he asked, "Any questions?"
The question of what exactly she was to do with the elemental once she located it lingered in her mind, but she could worry about that later.

"Now," she continues, "I believe we have unfinished business with a certain apprentice pyromancer?" Again she indicates the bounty.

Zalara leaves Jack's and sets off in the direction of House Hammerheim.
Some time later, she returns. "My preparations are finished. I'm all set to head north."
