As for me i was going for Flagstones of Tolkanar as well as maybe the Tabernacle at Pendle Vale Also I figured i might as well visit the Dark Depths and other frosty locals.
Also the challange post has been deleted due to the fact that the challange was accepted by the moderators.
Would it be possible to have characters who are currently on quests battle with us in the arena? They would have all of their current spells for the arena fight.
It would have to make sense time wise, but I think it could be done.
Just throwing it out there.
(I really would like to do a 2 on 2)
I wouldn't mind if it wasn't for the fact that Arguas himself is finishing a quest I would invite my quest companion Alissi as well. I have a feeling I'm almost done though. However, that is up to qfx. Just for the integrity of the time line, I would say that it might not be the best idea to have us fight while on the quest, on account that you guys have a bit of a wider spell selection now. You will still both be beating myself and Alissi after this quest is finished, but I still have some confidence in my satchel and what I intend to get out of this quest.
It is quite possible that Erol could take both of you? jk, but seriously, Erol with someone, maybe Wynn, would make an interesting fight.
Thats true, (even though you know all our cards...) or perhaps the mods could create an NPC pair for us to fight.
I'm sure Roger and Falnir wouldn't mind a duel against Wynn. (they don't really like her anymore)
If you guys want a fight then I'll give you one, but the giant bold text and a double post is not necessary. The next time such is done I will be giving out warnings.

Proposal: Each of us, the mods, can make up a character, and play them against you two? Maybe?
I'm fine with that, just make them level two characters (like us) with a total of like 7 spell slots (1 for common 2 for uncommon 3 for rare).
I'm sure you already know this though.
So yeah, its OK with me.
Geese you know I did apologize for the large print just to let you know. I olny used it because last time i posted it seemed to be ignored. And i stand with Grappler on people to fight. I will really fight anyone just as he is willing to do so.

I will be checking in every hour starting at 10. I am at work, but I should have enough time unless it gets out of hand.
As a correlary to this point, I will not be around until something like 11 pm EST tonight after I get home from work. Therefore there will be a 6 hour span this evening in which I will not be modding in the evening, as I leave at 5 pm EST.
OOC: Now how will posting mana in this combat work? Should I wait for both moderators to post or what?
Out of fair play, each player will have a turn each round. Please do wait for qfx to reply.
@Wuffles: Where did you go? You were quite enthusiastic and then just disappeared
@ The Other Tower goers: All I have to say is wow.
EDIT: The time here now is 3:16. I will likely be posting one more time this evening, so if you do not post within the next hour to an hour and a half, it's likely that I will not be able to do any more until 6 hours after that.
Double posting as I need to bring forth a notice for you all.
My apologies people, I have work to do at the office today, so I won't be able to post up new quests. It will take me some time finalize some of the new quests, and it looks like I'll have an opening tonight to do it. So, those of you without quests, please hang tight. I'm going to do my best. Anyone who is without quest and would like me to PM then when their quests are ready, please shoot me one as a reminder. I should have at least a couple of planned out this evening.
Just a question: how will the rotation of Ravnica out of standard be handled? I'm asking because I noticed you can join the guilds at some point, but since the quest rewards are from standard, I would hate to be part of Izzet for example and not be able to get any cool izzet cards. How will that work in the future?
I have very little time right now, but I'd like to respond to Dre2Dee2 here, as well as officially note something:
1) The Standard Rotation will not affect us for a while. We will continue to use Ravnica and Time Spiral for the "current standard", as these are the sets with the spells featured upon this plane. Remember, these are mages and not planeswalkers, even if they appear to be similar in power level. If the demand is high enough such that Lorwyn will be wanted to be in this plane, we'll find ways to bring it to you.
2) I have finished enough of the quest design such that very soon, everyone without a quest at the moment who is still expressively active will get on one. I need to find enough time today to post them, but please be patient with me as I've got a new project to work on at the office today Thank you!
So qfx, you said you had something else for me and Kord...where is it? I see you've been on- sorry if you're too busy

@Kandar: Please look at first the rules of the game on the first post of this discussion thread, and then read the rules for character creation on the next sticky (The Road to Estark: Character Creation)
EDIT: Time is 9:38 EST. Having been on here responding for an hour, I hope this is enough for you guys I will be disappearing for most of the rest of the day, until I get back from work. I need to get stuff done I really hope that most of you are having as much fun with this as I am.
Just saw this and had to say something about it. Arguas you have to understand that Magic players don't sleep or at the very least run on very little of it. lol.:D

Sweeping generalizations and stereotypes never solve anything
I am well aware that this composes a good part of the population here, and it's not that I'm downplaying that. It's just a matter of a few of the newer entrants were getting clearly impatient at a couple of points, and if a mod isn't online, I feel it is a clear indication that it should be taken into account that they simply are not present at the time.
This also leads me to another point: While this is indeed a Magic Role Playing Game, it is also a forum game, and therefore MAY have the tendency to be slow at times. Take Erol and Wynn for example: They haven't been able to play for a few days simply because there wasn't a quest available for them to play. Pushing quest designs before they're finished can result in unsatisfying or unfun quests. I, for one, want to make sure that what I produce is high quality, in both my posts and my quests. Considering the other things I have in mind (I am trying to write a rulebook for a role playing system, and am an entire chapter behind, as well as having it be expected to be delivered right after thanksgiving.), as well as the fact that I have a programming job that should be a greater focus for me, means all together just by this criteria alone that sometimes I can't be here all the time.
Believe me, I understand people, and, being a player of this game as well, I understand how several have felt. But updates come as they come, and I would like people here to take note of that. Qfx and I are doing pretty well at making sure that everyone is at least officially listed for a quest, and are actively participating, just with the obvious mass surge, with new players coming shortly after other quests have departed, this in itself can be quite a task.
I know many of you are understanding about this, and I can't express greater gratitude. We all have lives, and the mods by default put more of theirs into this game Just remember that the people running all of this are in fact people too
EDIT: We happen to be nice people for the most part too
This also leads me to another point: While this is indeed a Magic Role Playing Game, it is also a forum game, and therefore MAY have the tendency to be slow at times.
Yeah that's def. an important point to remember. Forum games always take an extremely long time to play out. Think of it as a game you check maybe twice in one day, instead of every few minutes. I've been playing a zombie rpg game on another forum for over a year (:o!) and we're not even close to done. These are very slow, casual games.

Story circle problems
I don't know... Story Circle doesn't seem to powerful to me at the moment. We are monocolored now, but later on we can get more colors if we choose. Naturalize, Cancel, Aven Cloudchaser, and everyone's favorite Pithing Needle do a good job with dealing with them. Red and black stink with enchantments but then again... what else is new? I just think this early on it seems really strong, but later levels I think people will have good ways to fight it. Working with other players in groups could also help. I could see maybe making Story Circle 2 spell casts per gem if it got out of hand. Just my opinion though.
You have to remember that the two mana only for pre-first land usage. What this means is that you can start out with casting a cmc 2 spell and then lay a land. You can't use both the land and the drawn mana therefore makeing the opeining fine.

Quick question on story telling circle. At the moment as we are all mono coloured (and will be for a while) in duels this card can basicly stop everything short of a green mass overrun (which I was planning on till I saw a certainn someones deck, man it's nice) and can only be stopped if the player is white, blue or green and have the relevent "situational" cards on hand (and blue will have a hard time keeping it off the table at basic levels). Now this isn't just a red mage (a colour I hardly ever actully play in MtG, yay RP) crying unfair but if that's put down turn 1 (2 mana in hand, land drop) the best we can hope for is a stupid player or a draw (same with black). It's not a problem once we can run dual colour as then it's plain your fault for going B/R but can it please be controlled otherwise it will get to be a pain, more so as in this format we have a land drop every turn and as the mana manipulator (rite o' flame) is controlled and it seems you guys want to make sure we can't goldfish every game (which is logical due to format) we have no way to win against anyone who takes it. Oh and if the rare thing gets to be a problem I was thinking that if each spell had a base value of 1 on start but in common you got 4, uncommon you got 2 and rare you got 1 it would lead to more varied decks, just a thought.
Considering the format is pretty quick at dealing out solutions, since every satchel can really play a VERY strong game of tempo, I actually find that Story Circle isn't as much of a threat as one may think. At this time, it does shut down my satchel, but honestly that's because I built my satchel in an anticipation for a) a metagame in this format, and b) it's a great quest satchel, which means I can get the answers I need for this sort of thing later I kind of didn't plan on heavy pvp early on for myself. Red can actually out aggro Story Circle in time. However, I must personally say that I agree with you that 4 of each card isn't the best way to do things. However, this is the rule that qfx has had in place, and so far the field has been quite balanced. However, this is a reason that I have introduced Scrolls and Lesser Gems. The quests that I have posted now are designed to keep everyone on a relatively level playing field for the beginning of the game.
Also, if you don't want the aggro route to take out White, in addition to simply overwhelming with threats, red STILL has the artifice route. Black has alternative spells that cause loss of life, and can still punch through for the little damage that is left. The largest problem with Story Circle is that it still has a mana commitment, and both decks can actually pump out threats faster than the Story Circle can keep up with.

It is true that as the game progresses, people will be able to go multicolor with their satchels. One of the biggest complaints I think I heard in the early stages of this game was that we needed to go in this direction, but it set up color identities and made it so people could experiment with the RP system fairly effectively, and I really appreciated that.
Also, Dre2Dee2, thank you for backing me up on the whole RP thing. I won't be on for very long tonight, and I hope you people will forgive me for that I was on here for a total of 4 hours almost straight yesterday, and someone kind of pointed out that I need to make sure that this whole thing doesn't entirely consume me, especially with another large and mandatory task looming over my head.
