If I actually stuck to a character I'm sure I'd be pretty far ahead too. But I'd settle with just letting my goblin finish his first quest. Pretty soon I might take my gruul out of storage if this keeps up.

No matter how hard you try, you can't stop us now!
You know what? When my computer crapped out on me last Saturday because of a brown out, I knew I would see some complaints. That's understandable. I'm sorry that players are having to wait on me. It sucks.
But coming back to see pissed off players making statements that basically read as my time belonging just to them, no requests necessary, stirs up an ugly feeling inside of me.
I do not like it one bit that it is assumed my time is your right. This is a game that is played on the side. For fun. Very rarely do any of the players ever ask politely for quests any more. All of you demand them as if they are your god given right. I guess that's our fault for accommodating all of you this past year.
Well, I'm tired of no longer seeing the simple exchange of civilities like please and thank you. Surprisingly, letting someone know that you're grateful when the other person is giving you their time, goes a very long way for said person.
Not too long ago I was juggling about 10 active quests, handling the crappy updates of character sheets, accounts, rewards, and all of the other WPL ***** work without a single thank you. I've been planning out the central story lines, personal character stories, and the next Festival event. All of this I did without a thank you and while I was balancing my real life commitments.
At any point during a wait any one of you could have submitted a request to the other WPLs for one of them to step in if you felt you could wait no longer. I'm not sure any of you have done that. I see in one thread the players talked about it in the thread, but it appears they never sent a PM.
Well I'm sorry to say this, but enough is enough.
I simply do not have the spare time to be doing all of these updates. I have far too much on my plate for the next four months to try and squeeze out what little spare time I have for what appears to be ungrateful players.
Being a WPL is not fun. It's tiring and thankless work. Seek out a new wpl, they can send me a pm for any story information they need for the quests. For the time being I'm done being a WPL as I simply do not have the time for it.
Again, I'm sorry but this is the way it has to be.
And now I do feel terrible. Computer crapouts are a horrible thing.
I was feeling rather abandoned after a month with nothing, and then....more nothing. I didn't even consider that you wouldn't have computer access. I should have looked more into it. And I'm really sorry I have been no fun to mod. I was a mod once, a long time ago, on another forums. And it was work, and it wasn't easy, but I always had some fun with it. Apparently I have not been delivering as a player.
I wish you the best of luck getting your data back from your machine, and I hope you have good luck with all your projects in the coming months.
But I can't ask for someone else to mod my quest. If Aggron's no fun to mod, then I cannot ask someone else to run his quests. It's been fun, but apparently it's only been fun for me.
Nev, your character was one of the few I was having fun developing a story with. The big issue was a combination of new players and their quests. Sometimes it simply was a lack of trying in their posts. Aggron's a good character stick with him.
Murphy, I would love to continue playing, but I was just a tremendous jerk to you, so much so it made you quit prematurely. I can't just turn around and say 'jk jk can someone mod me plz?' The WPLs have enough work on their collective plate as it is, especially with you out.
And I was very serious about what I said earlier. I don't want to be in a quest that isn't also fun for the person running it. This whole project is supposed to be fun for everyone involved, not some kind of burden.
So you're going to make me feel guilty for stepping down as it caused you to give up your character through some perceived guilt trip? Damn, it's like I'm now facing the guilt trip. >.<
Seriously, don't give up your character. It'd be a slap in my face if you stopped playing Aggron after the development we did at the Golgari with Naba and the fleshing out of your backstory that's going on in Alara right now.
I'm still going to play in the project, I'm just going to be a fairly inactive player due to my schedule. I was right at the edge of burning out because of all of my commitments. It just so happened that your post happened to be the one that broke the camels back. I was a bit cranky when I made that post because I had just come from a meeting and had finally got my computer back up.
Keep your character and see if anyone else will pick up the quest. If no one else does then I will continue to update it when I can.
I'm glad you got your machine back. Did you lose any data?
Awright. Sorry for all the drama. I really didn't mean for any of this to happen. When it started, I just wanted to go on with my quest.
If people are willing to forgive me, I would like to be back in and have someone moderate my quest. Just....don't mod me unless you're also having fun. That is really important to me.
...also I kind of deleted my character post, although I have it saved...
Frikking drama. I thought I got away from this years ago.
My frustration with Tik-Tik has nothing to do with the WPLs. You guys are all terrific, I know updates from WPLs can be erratic and there is no issue with that at all. However what does bother me is when a player signs up for a quest and disappears. I feel signing up to a quest is an optional commitment. If as a player I were to feel burned out or bored, I'd post that I was leaving. The WPLs putting up quests are not requirements, it is out of their generosity. I appreciate it, and I'm sorry that this sentiment is not expressed enough. So to all the WPLs, Thank you.

Getting tired of taking a year to do one quest, and getting equally tired of being polite about it. I've sat through one too many month-long waits.
I know I shouldn't expect any quest to move fast. But everyone else in the whole RPG moves faster than I do. And I'm sick of it.
Good sir, you're saying that to one of the two people to sat through the longest-running quests with the longest lulls in the history of this project.
I realize that most of the bruhaha has passed, but I really wish people would understand that forever long droughts of posts happen to all of us. It's nothing personal, it just happens.
So, I don't mean to be a bother, but with Murphy stepping down it means that the [Bounty] questlines will be getting new directors, correct? So, do we know who, or is it still undetermined, or am I gravely misinformed?
I am sure that some people have noticed that my posting has become lacking. I currently have a 40+ hour a week job plus 9 credit hours of classes that I am taking. Because of this I don't have the time for this game right now and I am stepping down as a WPL. I would rather walk away now, before it is weeks upon weeks between updates from me. For those of you on my Quests and my fellow WPLs you have my apologies, but I just cannot do this right now.
was fun having you as a WPL while it lasted QFX. Hope someone comes along to take your place in those quests you had been running sometime soon though.

"As the size of an explosion increases, the number of social situations it is incapable of solving approaches zero." -- Varsuvius, Order of the Stick
I've only had one WPL tell me they couldn't pick up the quest I was in and that sadly was a month ago. I really didn't want my character to be offline just because of something simple as waiting for someone to pick up the thread. =/
I really like this idea for an mtg rpg like this and would love to bring it to my table top group who love to play magic though regardless of what's happened.
Dead not quite, but I'll not lie i'm a bit lost as to whats open and whats up with the other WPL's. And thats saying something. Also for those quests that are stagnant i'm not sure whats going on because of well the sudden loss of communication. Guys whose quests have gone stagnant should PM me so I can see what else I can do to keep things moving. Granted lifes been busier than hell so just keep that in mind.

Unfortunately I'm one of the quests that Murphy was running, and sadly since he had to step down for personal reasons (which I completely understand because I'm also a student and know what it's like when classes start piling up). I'll gladly pm you if your willing to help me out (even if you don't gm it). =3
It's a shame to see Qfx go. I was really looking forward to him running one of my quests. Best of luck in your endeavors, Qfx.

If I had more experience at doing this sort of thing, I would be willing to help out.
This was a really interesting concept, and would probably be quite popular if people were more active, we had more people in general.
If there are still people left, would it be possible for someone to either take over for our quest, or could we "withdraw" and go on another?
