I'm not sure where to put this but I suppose this has as good a chance as any.
a while ago, Landil and I went on a quest in search of a land. the thread went stagnant due to lack of drive on all our parts, but now the players would like it revived, and Gigaguess (the WPL running the thread) has since stepped down.
can we get someone to pick this back up?

My apologies to those who are waiting for responses, both PMs and posts. Work has been hectic this week, and I have found myself working 12+ hours a day. Come this weekend I plan on getting things caught back up.
FYI players I will be over the next few days/weeks/whatever cleaning up all of the house threads, shop threads, etc. and starting them anew. Due to this I suggest that if you have posted something in one of the threads before I close them and create the new one that you carry your post over to the new thread solely for consistency. Secondly as I go though remodeling I will be creating an house member listing and if you find that I do not include your name please PM me so that I may add your name to the house member list.
Ah and also I am indeed a WPL once more. For those of you that remember me you know what that entails for those of you that don't know I suggest you look into the projects history a bit. Might give a little bit of a view of things I tend to do.
EDIT:
I've updated all of the Houses including adding a members list. If you feel that your name has either been erroneously included or excluded please let me know via a pm so that i may add/remove it as necessary.

Why a 6 month heads up? Well, we're not doing the time sync up shenanigans this time. The Festival tournament will occur in real time (City of Estark time). That means if you are on a quest then you cannot participate. We're working on a new prize distribution this year.
This advance notice also gives everyone plenty of time to ask questions and make suggestions. If you're wanting to participate in the Festival then you should probably stop taking quests after October. Remember quests tend to run in the range of 1-3/4 months on average depending on the objective. Some quests have been known to run as long as a year and a half (trust me I know from personal experience. >.< ).
Look forward to seeing plenty of participants this year since we were unable to run a Festival tournament last December!
Before I do something that could potentially be terribly embarrassing, I have question. In the Rules and Announcements thread, all the listed WPLs to send info for character approval to are current WPLs, yes?

Yes, that list is up to date. Currently RedDwarfian is getting caught up from his leave of absence and is acting as an adviser to the storyline that we've been working on. So the PM you sent was both correct on WPLs and on spell choices. Go ahead and post in the road to Estark where one of us, a WPL that is, will role play your character entering into the city. Once you clear through there you'll be able to add your character to the active characters thread.
I had an idea that I just wanted to share. I was looking through the Masteries and Path section of the rules and I was thinking to myself that that would be a really cool way to incorporate some of WOTC's cool summer multiplayer products. For example, I think it would be cool if there was some path you could go on that allow you to access a planechase planar deck and as you travel to new places you get more plane cards and as you go up in tiers, rolling chaos gets more likely and choosing the next plane is less random. Also, there could be a very flavorful path that allows you to use archenemy schemes if you are in a battle that is 2v1 or worse. Or, you could bond with some legendary creature and they could become the commander of your satchel allow you to cast them in every battle (for 2 more each time in a battle) and you could get various other commander benefits.
I just feel like it'd be really cool to access planes and schemes and commanders and it would add a whole new dimension to high level battles. (And it could be separate from paths, as you are limited to only one). Anyway, that's just my quick two cents. Feel free to consider or ignore it as you please
We've already set a few precedents where we use the plane cards in the actual terrain of locations. I suppose the planeswalkers would be able to benefit from creating anchors to those locations should they get into combat with another walker.
Schemes would be interesting to incorporate for players. Though I imagine they would have to be earned through role playing and would have a one time use before needing to be earned again. I say that because thematically a scheme is supposed to be a motion that one sets into play in advance. So there could be room for allowing characters the chance to earn schemes for specific encounters on a quest. We'll have to look into that.
The commander aspect is interesting, especially with the new set coming out. Traditionally legendary creatures have been off limits to satchels, so I'm not sure how the rest of the WPLs would like to handle potentially including them. I do imagine that including them would be for special events and not something that can be used every day. Perhaps we could develop a commander 'mode' when planar events, like invasions, occur where a legendary would team up a player.
The development of these ideas will be on the back burner though until one of the other WPLs can take a look at it as development takes a lot of time. Time which I don't always have a lot of due to all the quests I am running along with real life events.
My Grandmother is in severe condition and may be dying within the next few days. As such I may be forced to go to a funeral for her in another state. As such I may be inconvenienced and unable to get to the computer during said time period. If this happens I will attempt to try to post that I am leaving in the inactivity thread so that you know that I have indeed left and will be unable to post.

Hi; I've got a quick question concerning the Spirit Guides. Is there any reason a R/X mage couldn't exile 8 spirit guides, cast some ramp spells (like Seething Song) and Blaze FTW in Arena matches? Even in PvE, there's a spell that costs the same as Blaze but lets you distribute damage as you would between any number of targets (can't remember the name offhand, but it was in one of the Archenemy decks). Are Spirit Guides only usable once each turn or something? Or would a 5-color mage have access to 20+ colored mana on their first turn (the mage in question would be level 12+, but still)?

If I recall correctly, you can only use one spirit guide a turn. Plus, you're only allowed to have cards in your colors in your satchel, so you can't even have off-color spirit guides to exile. I think we don't have more than two-color mages around yet.
What people frequently do is simply refuse to play against mages who build stupidly OP arena satchels, or the mods will refuse to let you have the satchel. I figured out a build a while back that basically lets you take infinite turns starting on turn two or three, with so many Orim's Chants and cheap counterspells that it'd be a miracle if your opponent could resolve any spell at all, much less win. But who would play against that?
Apologies to all for my recent inactivity. My multi-variable calculus professor loves assigning tons of homework that is due every day. That along with trying to prepare for the next semester that I am dubbing hell semester, my time has been severely limited.
My final exam for the summer course is this Friday. I'll get some updates out then.
I have about a week after that to do some real updates with minimum commitments to eat up my time. I'll get those updates rolling during that week and try to finish as many quests that progress quickly enough to end within that time period.
After that time my activity will likely drop down to posting maybe once or twice a week during the fall. For that reason I will not be an active WPL during the Fall semester. The other WPLs have known this for some time. I'll be around more as an infrequent player. They may allow me to keep my WPL title during the fall semester to help out with WPL matters/discussions when I can. If not then I'll see about getting the title back when I have the time to actually help out the project on a regular basis again.
Again: Apologies for those waiting on me and thank you for your substantial patience.
EDIT:
I'm back to being active again, just finished my last exam. Currently working on updating my quests. If I miss your quest please let me know.

Getting tired of taking a year to do one quest, and getting equally tired of being polite about it. I've sat through one too many month-long waits.
I know I shouldn't expect any quest to move fast. But everyone else in the whole RPG moves faster than I do. And I'm sick of it.
