Actually, I think they're saying that all lands put into play with Summer Bloom should count against spells/turn.

Ummmmmm now that I have to say no to. We don't count spells like rampent growth so we won't be counting all the lands from summer bloom.
The difference is, Rampant Growth puts the land directly into play, whereas Summer Bloom gives you the opportunity to play extra lands yourself. The fact that the land comes in tapped with Rampant prevents you from making immediate use of it, whereas the Bloom merely allows you to play more lands untapped. Having said that, I still think that the difference should only be where the land comes from. Spells that bring the land from the library shouldn't count toward spell count, but those that bring them from hand should. It basically fits with the idea of "hand size" vs. your entire library.

They love and hate to see me walk through the door. I'm the man with the box, one to carry all his Standard cards with him. I've got the commons and uncommons they need. But I've also got my decks. If I walk into FNM, I came to play. And they never know what I'm gonna pull out of my hat next. I may lose more than I win, but it just might be THIS deck that has all the answers that they don't have answers for. They fear the unknown. They fear me. And they never see me coming!
treefrog makes a good point. I'd agree with that assessment.

now are we, if we do limit ppt or castings, going to limit it to Summer bloom? or are cards like journey of Discovery going to be affected too? i'm probably the only one that has access to journey, but it's the same kind of card so,..... what do you think?
I think the argument is being made for any spells that enable lands from the hand instead of the library to count those lands for spells.

Yes, my original argument was for anything that let you play extra lands from the hand. You bring up a good point, GM, with Journey. I had completely forgotten about that card. Thinking about it, I would have to say that my opinion is: playing Journey at 2G should be like playing Summer Bloom. However, the Entwined version is effectively playing lands from your library, so maybe an exception could be made for that.

Ok, a little off topic...how does Tel-Jilad Stylus work? Can you choose any card that you could normally cast and is part of your chosen expansion, or what?

...Something tells me that even should all arcane casters in the world unite, that the Grease spell would NOT be sufficient.
Also, they usually cost a lot to cast or have a drawback so you probably wouldn't be doing a lot other than streching out turns. But they could have a restriction like 2 casts max per gem or no land drop during extra turn.
And the scepter is banned I believe. Fenris said I couldn't choose it as a reward for my Saffi quest.
That's exactly what I'm talking about. Play temporal extortion, and your opponent either loses half his life, or watches you get 3 turns tempo advantage.

Sure, but that tempo advantage comes at cost. They're nearly prohibitively expensive for their colors (they are usually black or blue, after all and the cheapest has a CMC of 4, preventing a truly early cast). If they were green, then I'd call them nasty, because of the mana acceleration available.
Oh, and Isochron Scepter is not banned. Instead, we made it legendary!
There's only 1 in existence, and if Fenris doesn't handle the quest that marks the retrieval of it, I probably will.

I guess you can blame me (or possibly Landil) for this statement, as I outlined a completely legal way to win turn 3 swinging for upwards of 20 damage.
It can be stopped, though- if your timing is right.

And that would mean you have to ban all demigods, because they are all powerfull, I would say no, because if I played a white mage I would certainly play Oversoul of Dusk.
Also, no one can yet obtain any shadowmoor spells until they have finished a shadowmoor quest.
At least restrict to 2 cast. Maybe the same for the other avatars. But SHA is coming to Estark and I am scared of it. Except for Midnight Banshee
