"I can use my spells to defeat it, but I'll need assistance!" Zalara calls out as she weaves another fiery orb into being.
OOC: Can teammates block for each other? If so, I might have an additional play.
Zalara then whips her staff around, swirling the two mana orbs around each other until they combine, then split, into three. She points her staff at the ground, driving the mana orbs into a cone, and from the resulting surge of flame emerges a beast that is in many ways the smaller cousin of the cerodon: two stubby tusks instead of great, sweeping ones, four legs that scrape restlessly at the earth, and a ridge of spines along its back - though the elemental's are hissing and crackling with fire.
The arrival of the spirit releases a surge of energy that the twin sages use to further empower Tai.
The huge beast roars in deafening challenge as the three mages summon creatures to defend against its charge.
The creature is about to charge, when it stops for a moment. From the trees around the beast, a whirl of green mana around the creature. Its eyes go wild, and an ominous rumbling sound comes from the area where the monster's enormous stomach might be.
It roars with renewed fury, and once again charges at the black mage.
The beast tears through the boar creature without so much as pausing, though the summoned creature does rip open a wound in the monster's side. Its claw smashes into Tai. A stroke of Tai's sword and the fiery farewell from the slain summoned creature take their toll on the creature, and it backs up, roaring in pain.
The beast's roars quiet to wimpers of confusion and agony. Then, after several moments, the gargantuan creature finally falls sideways. Several trees are crushed beneath its bulk as it dies. One of its huge eyes stares at the group as the hunger and light in them is extinguished.
The jungle has gone as quiet and still as the recently slain beast.
Tai placed a hand on the beast's head. A part of him wished it hadn't come to this...but another reminded him he had little choice, because while he felt remorse for his actions, the beast surely would not.
"Let's proceed, then," Zalara says, pointing down the trail of broken trees. "Maybe we can find someone along the way who knows why the beast was in such a violent state...and whether there are others we need to worry about."
Although she wonders whether it might not be enough. The beast went directly for Xen. His black mana is foreign here, and frightening, too. The creatures all around us...can they sense this energy? Are they all as driven to rid the jungle of this intruder? If so...we're going to be in for a very long day.
"I am the guardian of this jungle," the figure shouts back. The voice is feminine. "You have defiled this valley, and your corrupted magic will bring disaster to the world if I allow it to fester."
Without warning, the woman points her left palm at the ground and red mana whirls around her. She points her right palm at the forest, and a pulse of green mana gathers to her. She draws in the mana faster than any standard mage could. Perhaps her connection to this plane is stronger than normal.
It appears she's getting ready for a fight.

1x Forest (:symtap:)
"Gods?!" Zalara calls to the incensed woman. "Did you mean the beast that attacked us? Please believe us, we mean you no harm if you are peaceful. We are just trying to find the dark entity that attacked our home!"
All the same, she whirls her staff, and a man-sized obelisk materializes on the forest floor. Its energy lays dormant, yet like the forest itself, it seems oddly...alive.
1x Living Obelisk (tapped)
OOC: Do our graveyards empty out at the start of each battle?
1x Rite of Flame
1x Bogardan Firefiend
Tai stood ready. "Please, we do not wish to fight. I urge you to reconsider." He said, as his tattoos flared green. From a shimmer in the aether near him, a rugged, savvy looking elf stood at his side. He readied his shield, but still holds his hand above his sword,
