The two walked for what felt like a few hours, the steps becoming damp and slippery the father they descended. A green, glowing moss clung to the walls allowing for a scant amount of illumination in the deep stairwell.
Eventually, the pair reached the bottom, where the gigantic shrubbery was enthralled with digging at the mud.
Xen simply smiled saying, "I imagine I should try and get used to bad or strange smells as I plan on learning about the swamps. So I don't mind the potential assault on my nose."
Before Anna could respond, Sprout took off like a rocket. he bounded between large pipes and underground foliage as he flew through the underground area.
Before a long, a large structure illuminated by a large collection of the moss Xen saw before began to appear in Xen's vision.
"He hasn't had a student in years. His methods, as I have said before, are questionable at best. I don't think you'll have much resistance form him, but you may not be as enthusiastic as you are now for long."
Sprout began to slow as the massive cathedral grew in size. Finally, the ragtag group arrived at the base of the cathedral and Xen could see just how huge the structure truly was.
The moment they arrive, Sprout started to dissolve as piles of him fell off and turned into little clumps of moss and leaves.
Xen smiled as Sprout began to resemble his old self. Then looking to Anna he bowed saying, "By all means, ladies first."
Xen couldn't help but grin as he had a feeling he wouldn't be smiling for the next few days or even weeks with this new master he was about to take on. Anna's comments concerning Ravgthos definitely left Xen worried at just what exactly the master's practices were.
Holding his grin Xen said, "That and I have no idea where I would be going."
Xen finished that with a laugh as he fell into step by Anna.
Xen continued his march down thinking, So that's the feeling of black mana...
He had already experienced the side effects of black mana in combat. But there are differences between what is felt in combat and what is felt in peace.
Eventually, the staircase ended in a deep crypt with walls lined with urns and sarcophagi. The area was completely devoid of torches, and the air was unnaturally cold.
Xen breathed in the cold air and exhaled. Drawing on a single forest, he concentrated the power into his fist to create a dull illumination so he could be sure he was still stepping on solid stone. Satisfied with the little lighting he could get, Xen pressed forward into the darkness...

"Come Sprout, those enchantments on you aren't going to last forever, and I don't want to have to summon things to do your job for you."
The saproling stood upright and appeared to give its master its full attention.
"Now, Xen, it is still a great distance to Svogthos. We can get there quite a bit quicker if you don't mind being near a bad smell."
Shaking the mirth off his face, Xen quickly climbed up behind Anna saying, "This ought to be..." fun?
"...interesting."

Sprout was quickly back to his normal size and he scampered up and onto Anna's shoulder.
A shuffling zombie in red armor almost ran Xen over as it stumbled around the main entrance.
Several better made zombies moved at a much better pace inside the building as they seemed to be performing menial tasks for necromancers.
Xen could get a sense of a large heartbeat on the edge of his consciousness as he followed Anna.
Eventually, Anna stood before a large stone staircase with walls lined with torches that seemed to lead beneath the main building.
"This is where my journey ends. Head down there and the moment you encounter something sentient, ask for Ravgthos. They will lead you to him."
Then patting sprout on the head he said, "See you later little guy."
Turning around, he made his way down the stair case letting his senses flow into the land around him...
He had already experienced the side effects of black mana in combat. But there are differences between what is felt in combat and what is felt in peace.
"Who on earth is trying to grow a plant down here?"
