OOC: I think we should leave it. The was only a reminder, and I agree that having the ability to disappear, and to talk over long distances without yelling, or making noise, or an enemy intercepting the message would be a big advantage.
But what do you think about speaking in a code?

OOC: I can agree on the code, but I still believe that i'm justified. We could only do the thing with our voices so easily because we were in such close proximity to each other. And I still stand by the 'Shadow Weaving' thing we did. It only amplifies the natural darkness around us, and only hides our physical bodies.
OOC1: go Airports with free wifi!
OOC2: Can you really not think of the advantage being able o be unseen, or nearly so, and silent while talking? Also, the "shadow-weave" is a huge advantage for a black mage, over the other colors. We could include something like this in darklands?

And, its simply a manipulation of mana in the slightest sense.
OOC: True. But we aren't Mods, and we don't run this. We play by MTG salvation rules, and it's no use arguing it in a quest thread. Put it up in new ideas?

Enhancing shadows as a black mage is fine for roleplaying. Just don't expect such shrouds to immediately grant a form of invisibility to keep you hidden. That's the point I was trying to impress upon all of you. Things done in roleplaying are usually fine as long as they are within reason. Actual character abilities are the only sure fire insurance for something working though. Black mana enhancing the concentration of shadows is believable and would grant a hide bonus in shadowy areas. The voice thing is straight up character level ability, on the same level as telepathy which must be developed in character, not automatically assumed.
On summoning feldon's cane as a walking stick, I'm fine with that but after a certain amount of time the magic would leave the cane making it a simple cane that does nothing. So if you had already summoned it and I deemed enough time had passed since summoning it then the artifact would be useless and spent for any combat after that point. Though there is also the chance of starting combat with the artifact in play should combat occur within the time frame that the cane was still useful.
"Don't skulk and I wont call you a skulking rat!" snarled the captain as she sheathed her blade. Then sighing she told Lelouch, "Go below deck and tell the crew to show you to your cabin. If they question who you are simply tell them you are one of the clients."
Then looking back to Evan she said, "Apologies but I do not trust anyone who attempts to sneak around my ship, client or not. I know you mages think you're above the law and act in the ways that best suit you. That's fine with me as long as you don't try to pull anything on me."
She narrowed her eyes saying, "Like sneaking around my ship..."
Knowing she had driven the point home she relaxed a fraction and turned to Deth saying, "I'm not a seer. I cannot foretell what may happen during our trip. We could very well be attacked, but you three are mages so you can probably handle anything that is thrown at this ship. On the same token though we could just as easily end up having a safe and uneventful trip, the Light willing..."
Are we allowed to make a code system with PMing, and use it?
seeing that there was no point to arguing the point further, Deth let it lie. You do not appear to be a new piolet, so you have likely sailed these waters before. have you heard, or seen of any dangers that have bin plaguing ships recently? Is there a guard rotation already posted, and if so, would you prefer if we joined it? Or would you like us to have a separate rotation, so there is one mage, and one crewman on guard at all times? Finally, how long will the trip last?

"Right, sorry 'bout the sneaking. Just making sure of things, that's all. I won't be sneaking around anymore. And I agree, I think that we should help out in the duty roster you may have, and if not, I suppose Deth and myself might be able to handle standing watch for a while. And when can we get underway?"
OOC: How do you make a link by using a word as with the sea monster thing.
Thank you captain. Fellow mages I shall be off.
Lelouch then walks out of the cabin and goes below the deck. He then approaches a deckhand and says,Where may I find my quarters.

The captain sniffs the air in disdain at the comments made saying, "I run a tight ship here, we always have a watch in look for dangers both on and in the waters. If you feel more comfortable keeping your own watch then by all means do so. We can set sail within the hour, the loading should be done by then."
-----
The deck hand looked at Lelouch and appeared ready to curse at the man before thinking twice. Sighing the hand waved absently toward a corner door. Apparently Lelouch's quarters lay either beyond that door in that general direction. The hand didn't appear all to thrilled to be held up from loading supplies and looked expectantly for Lelouch to walk off to the indicated quarters so he could return to his work.
"That's good. Since our companion seems to have the right idea, are our quarters in the same place as his? If so, I would suggest the Deth and I get back to the deck, get our bearings on this fine vessel, and figure out where the best vantage points will be for our own lookouts."
Without waiting for a response, Evan says to the captain, "Thank you Captain for your hospitality, and your hostility. It will remind me to be on my toes for this journey. I bid you farewell till we have need to meet again."
Evan heads out of the Captain's cabin, onto the deck, looking for a crow's nest, or some other high point on the rigging where he could set up 'shop' for his watch.
The captain flicked her left ear in irritation and looked to Deth prepared to bore a piercing gaze into his forehead if he did not leave her quarters quickly. Clearly the captain had issues with mages as well as being surprised. First introductions had gone poorly.
-----
Evan quickly found the nest he sought at the top of the center mast, at the moment the nest appeared to be unoccupied as they had not left the docks yet...
Evan saw a view that reminded him of a day in his youth when he had observed ants crawling about their home trying to repair the damage a fallen rock had done. All about the docks were men bringing supplies to be loaded, men loading the supplies, soldiers patrolling, urchins running about, everyone seemed busy doing something.
OOC: sorry for not posting before now. The Internet at the hotel ran out, then I had a 25 hour trip back home.
IC: Deth seighs. The introdutions had gone poorly, and first impressions made a difrence. Deth quickly scaled the mast up to the crows nest,
Well, that went great. On the subject of keeping watch, how should we do it? Should one of us keep watch at all times, or two in the day, and one at night?
After a moment of silence How do you think we should gain the captains trust, assuming it would prove worthwhile?

Seemingly unsuprised at Deth's sudden appearence, Evan simply states, "One eye open and one eye closed is better than none at all."
After pondering for a moment, Evan says to his comrade, "She is a charter. Her ship and her directions all all that I see we have need of. Trust is not needed, as she has most likely been paid for this trip. If we do require her trust in the future, and I highly doubt that, then any extra help we can perform on this voyage, other than us keeping our own watch, might help us to that goal."
A few minutes of silence followed Evan's words. Below, the two mages could see the crew bringing the last of the supplies aboard. The ship would likely be setting sail in a few moments...
OOC: @ Tez: you let us know before hand, didn't you? and it's not like your contributing much to the current PoV, your down in your quarters.
IC: "Like I said, 'One eye open and one eye closed', or was that meaning lost on you my friend?" Evan said in a slightly sarcastic tone, laying down and curling up in what might have been deemed a 'corner' if the Nest were square. "I'll take the next one if you don't mind."
But what do you think about speaking in a code?
