This quest is for Tezzeret the Seeker (Lelouch), Kozilek butcher of truth (Deth), and silverthorn2009 (Evan). They and WPLs are the only ones who have permission to post here. All else caught posting here will be thrown to the depths of hell where Lucifer awaits.
The crew of the Voyager work like ants crawling about their ship in preparation for their latest expedition. The buzz of business in Estark's docks made thinking near impossible, a problem for people other than the workers themselves who are used to such distractions...
Deth, spying all the activity, sneaks over to stand near the gangplank, in the shadow of the ship. He then draws a dark aura around himself, attempting to further blend in with the shadows. He stands perfectly still, trying to observe, without being observed, ready to board the ship when his companions arrive.
Field:
1x swamp
OOC: checking in. If I wanted to, could I summon feldon's cane, and just hold it? or would I need to be in a battle? And if I could, would I have any ill effects, besides the possibility of it being destroyed?
Headed to where other people in the city said where the docks were, Evan smells an aura of black magic, shadows that are darker than they should be. Walking to where the aura was, Evan smells one of his companions that has already arrived. Deth.
Cloaking himself in a similar aura, Evan sneaks up on the spot where Deth is hiding, observiing the dock workers going about their business.
Keeping his voice down low so as not to be overheard, Evan says to the darker than dark area, "Glad you could make it. Are we still waiting on Lelouch?"
Lelouch blends in with the shadows in his dark cloak and sneaks up behind Evan and says
Where is the vessel that we will be taking to the Terisiare
ooc: checking in
OOC: I had no idea that a simple RP of checking in could cause so much action. This is going to be awesome.
Deth, having noticed another presence, signals to Evans and dispels the majority of the aura, leaving just enough to make a impression, but not enough to be noticeable to one who isn't looking for it. he then strides out of the shadows, up the gang-plank, and over to the one who appears to be the captain. He looks then man in the eye, and says, "if I may inquire, are you the captain of this vessel, and where it is headed?"

Lelouch seeing that Deth is talking to someone stride over to him and reveals himself.
So when do we head out. I imagine this is going to be a long journey.

Still staying in his shadow, Evan stalks up the plank onto the ship, making sure to keep himself noticed only by Lelouch and Deth. Passing by them, he says, low enough so that only they can hear him, "I'll be checking the ship. If the captain knows how many are coming, just tell him that I am already on board."
With that said, Evan stalks off, and awaits for them to depart.
The man Deth had spoken to was about to respond when Lelouch interrupted the man with his comment. Frowning in frustration the man Deth had address let out an agitated sigh saying, "I'm not the captain! I'm the first mate and she is in her cabin reviewing the chartered course we are to take."
The first mate looked past Deth's left shoulder at a few members of the crew handling supplies and squinted his eyes clearly upset with how they were handling the supplies. Barely glancing back at Deth he said, "Now you'll excuse me while I correct the buffoons handling our rations!"
Before Deth could really interject the first mate had already left his side and was busy chewing the few crew members handling the rations out.
-----
Near the rear of the ship where Evan was checking out the ship he heard a soft lullaby playing just below him, clearly coming from a music box. The sound seemed like a classic fast paced song played for children...
Deth sighs at his companions brashness, and lack of subtlety before moving swiftly to what he thinks is the captains cabin. He then on her door, and waits for a reply.

Time flys like an arrow. Fruit flys like a banana.
Evan, hearing the song, looks for a shadow to hide in, and, finding one, cautiously makes his way there so that he can rest a bit, listening to the lullaby....
Lelouch walks over to the edge of the boat and leans on the side. As a big gust of wind comes passing through Lelouch loses his balance and falls into the water. Lelouch then swims to shore and gets back on the boat wet and cold with a angry look on his face.

Traveling with other black mages, how typical. I hsould be diversifying the company I travel with...
Hearing a splash, Evan wakes up, just in time to setime to see one of his companions coming back onboard, sopping wet, looking like, well, "Hey friend, you look like a drowned rat!" Evan says, infusing his words with mana so that they would reach his companions ears, and only his.
Hearing a constant knocking sound, Evan notices his other cohort banging relentlessly on a door, presumably the captains quarters.
Still Hearing the sweet sound of the lullaby, Evan nods off yet again, waiting for his 'friends' to let him know when they would be underway...
Need to make myself better, learn from my weaknesses, get more powerful...
DARN RIGHT YOU DO, BROTHER! WE NEED MORE OF US TO BE BETTER! GET TO IT!
Just as Evan was about to slip into the sweet embrace of a restful nap, the lullaby stopped apparently in response to the knocking. A crisp feminine voice called out saying, "Enter!"
Lelouch found himself greeted by several of the crew smirking at his clumsiness. One of them was kind enough to throw him a smelly wool blanket that could be used to dry himself off with...
Evan, upon realizing that the lullaby was not going to continue, infused his voice with a small amount of mana, and sent it to Lelouch and Deth
"I believe that the captain is about to join us. If they know how many are in our party, and they have not yet discovered me, simply say that I am around. If they do not know however, try to keep your knowledge of me to yourselves. I'll just hide around the ship till we have reached our destination."
With that message sent to his compatriots, Evan settles down in a dark corner, raising his mana shroud to close around him completly, for a quick nap.
Deth rolls his eyes, and brings a weak aura to the visibles spectrum. It then pulses, leaving behind a bat. Deth whispers "It may be smart for you to come out after we determine it is not a trap. It wouldn't do for them to discover you for the first time in the middle of an attack, yes?" to the bat, and sends it over to evan. As the bat gives Evan his message, it and the aura fade simultaneously.
"If you say so, but i'm not just going to appear out of nowhere."
Keeping himself hidden in the shadows and in his mana cloak, Evan folows Deth into the cabin, and heads to the shadows of the room, releasing his cloak and stepping out of the darkness.
"Just some mind games from me to them."
"About time you got here Deth, I was getting bored. And that was a lovely tune, by the way." Evan says to no one in particular.
Deth smirks, small attention span you have, if you get board after only a minute.
Turning to the captain, he bows. Hello, I am deth, and the one in the shadows is named Evan. We apologize for his unannounced appearance. Am I correct in saying that you in charge of this ship, and that this is the ship that we are to take to the ice?

In an attempt to catch the wool blanket, Lelouch loses his balance again and falls over board. He walks up the gang plank a third time and walks toward the captains chamber. When he arrives his companion give him a startled look and he just replies Don't ask. Just whats the situation.

Small point that I must make clear: Using mana to create special ability effects is ok when your character has developed such abilities or is mimicking a spell they own. For this reason using black mana to form a type of telepathy or invisible shroud is a bit of a no no for your characters at this point in time. Please edit your posts to reflect similar effects (IE Evan simply hiding in the shadows and moving about. The group whispering to each other as they pass one another.).
As Lelouch comes upon the Captain's quarters he sees the female leonin unsheathe her blade and point it towards Evan's throat saying, "I'm the captain of this ship and I don't much like having rats aboard, let alone the type that skulks the shadows!"
Her feline eyes assess the three mages during the silence following her words. Then with a barely audible snarl she says, "I suppose you three are the mages I'm supposed to bring to New Argoth?"
Sorry. I saw that you hadn't said anything the first time the voice-infused thing was done, so I thought it was OK. Could we use the PM system to work out some code, so others can't understand what we're saying?
Also, was what I did in my checking in post OK? The aura is how I represent Deth's swamps/lands, and since he isn't the most trusting person, it seems reasonable to assume he would draw mana. I am, and was aware that it wouldn't have an effect on what actually goes on. It was simply for purpose of good RPing.
Finally, could I summon feldon's cane, and just hold it? Or would I need to be in a battle? And if I could, would I have any ill effects, besides the possibility of it being destroyed? Thanks for clearing this up.
Deth, appears calm, as if uncaring for the sword at the neck of his companion. 'Again, I apologize for Evan's unannounced entrance. However, you may not be in a position to blame us. You, too, are cautious, as evidenced by the sword at your clients neck. And this is your ship, one you probably know inside and out. We are on unfamiliar territory, and do not have a death wish. Therefor, we kept someone in reserve.'
After a pause, he adds 'And in case you were unable to tell, yes, we are your clients. Do you expect any danger on this voyage? Are we, for example, crossing dangerous seas? and how common are sea serpents and other monsters here?' I have heard of a mightybeast That lives in the sea around ice.
I might not be able to post for 2 weeks. I'm going with family on vacation, and I don't know when I'll be able to connect to the internet. sorry again, thanks for letting us know how this works.
OOC: I agree. We didnt know that it wasn't allowed. The cloaks were just a way of summoning the essence of black mana, to amplify the darkness around us. That seems like a very plausible thing to be able to do. As for the voice infusion, what about when the 'mana eyes' were first introduced? or, as i have seen, other people introducing very minor things that they could do with their mana? I figured that this all would be very plausible, and very possible.
IC: "Would you mind retracting that impressive blade of yours? And, if possible, could you not call me a skulking rat? I have every right to be on this ship, as we are your clients, as my partner just said."
"And Lelouch, do we need to tie you down, so you don't fall off the ship every time you are on deck?"
I'm not good with boats. Boats make me sick, queasy, vomit, nauseous, and ill. When I grew up I had ridden a boat with my father he fell of the deck and never came back to the surface of the water. I loathe boats, no I HATE them. I can calm myself enough for this trip, I have gotten over my fear. I will stay under the deck in my quarter for most of the trip and yes, if you find it necessary to tie my do ON THE BOAT go ahead. Just don't do it on land.
Lelouch turns his attention to the female captain and asks
Where are my quarters because I would like to get there quickly and I would not want to mess up the loading of supplies and anything else. Also, how long before we reach our set destination.
