Evan tells his partner about his dream, making sure to tell him every detail, saying it loud enough for the sailor to hear, to see if he chimes in with any info.
"I dont know if it has anything to do with what we're after, but it was there, and I need to find out what that thing was. It invaded my dream, my meditations, and I want to know how and why."
The sailor spat through his teeth over the side of the nest saying, "Sounds like Marit Lage from tha tales we were just sharing. Though those same tales say her power is bound and dormant."
The sailor shrugs his shoulders commenting, "Can't always believe what ya hear though."
The sailor shrugs his shoulders in a manner that said how am I supposed to know? Looking Evan in the eyes he said, "None of tha legen's I heard were ever clear on specifics. They all said tha' they simply imprisoned her using her own power against her. As for her bonds weakenin'? You tell me, you're tha mages."
"didn't you say something about an avatar? And eternal as the stone itself? Which seems to imply that you somehow destroyed that lock on her cage." Deth thinks for a moment, then saying. "Should we try to ask everyone for information about the stone, or be descreit. It first would get us more information, but might give us a tail planning to free the demon."
The sailor looked taken back by Deth's accusation saying, "Me?! You think I somehow broke this old tale's lock? These are just old tales meant ta scare the little ones. For all we know your friend just had a nightmare."
The sailor scoffed at the idea of Marit Lage's legend being true. Muttering, "Ask all ye like, doubt many other sailors know oh her tale. Those that do would probably keep it quiet if they were responsible of breaking the lock."
"I don't believe that I severed the bonds holding her. She invaded my meditations first, before I was in the snowy dreamscape. Anyway, I think, considering what our friend here just said, we should keep it quiet. Perhaps we can find out more when we get to Teresere. I bid you two farewell once again, I must get back to meditations."
Going bacl down to the spot he was in when he was 'attacked', Evan gets back into his meditation position, and tries again, hoping to actually get some work done this time. Visualizing his forested swampland once more, Evan drifts off...
OOC: Ok, since there hasnt been much said about our travels so far, have we even set sail yet? and if so, how long till we actually get there?
Sorry I was accommodating the role-playing, letting your characters develop. When the characters all go to sleep I'll move the story along to your arrival at Terisiare. In case it wasn't clear the group had set sail awhile ago and the end of the day is closing in on the group.
The sailor nodded to Deth and then to Evan as the ratkin retired himself for the night once again. Turning back to Deth he said, "Night's fallin' and we 'ave our own watch if ya want to get some sleep. Wouldn't do tha crew much good to have a fatigued mage come morning should we run into any trouble approachin' Terisiare."
OOC: Thank god. I was wondering what was taking so long. Well, as far as i can tell, Deth is the only one not asleep.
Edit:
Lying down in his meditation postition, Evan tries to recreate the snowy landscape, focusing on and trying to remember the feeling of those great tentacles. Sending out in Dreamspeak, "Oh Great Marit Lage, if that is indeed the one who spared my life, who let me go from your current place of imprisonment, if you would be willing, I would humbly request a parley with you."
At first the dreamscape was not quite like before, the sense of reality was lacking. For a long time there was silence, until suddenly Evan's control was taken away and the dreamscape solidified into the blizzard once again.
A piercing howl of wind blew snow into his face as he stood before the stone on the lake. There was a palpable feeling of being watched by something from everywhere at once...
The ice beneath Evan's feet shook slightly as there was a cracking noise. The sound echoed for but a moment before being carried away on the wind. The stone in front of Evan appeared to have a subtle glow of mana outlining the glyphs and runes decorating the surface...
Heading closer to the Stone, thinking it may be a way to communicate with her, Evan touches the stone, and again, sends out his Dreamcall to her again, "Please, Marit Lage, take no offense to my intrusion, and please, speak with me. I wish to be of service to your greatness."
The dreamscape shattered as Evan touched the stone. The same vision from before assaulted his senses as he saw the great tentacles of Marit Lage descend upon him...
And then darkness and silence fell upon him. He was in a cold cave like area. A small sliver of light shone down from above through an ice roof painting his surroundings in a soft blue color.
"A seeker of the stone...?" came the feminine voice from just beyond the ring of blue light bathing Evan.
"Of Power. The stone is a way for me to have more power."
Concentrating, trying to make out anything in this new landscape, trying to make out where the voice is coming from.
"Please, are you the Great Marit Lage? If you are, I wish to be of service to you in the waking world. I know that this is not in the real world right now, and that you can probably take any form that you wish, especially with your awesome power. Perhaps, you could come to where I can see your greatness?"
A great beam of the blue light shone a sliver across the black canyon like landscape revealing parts of a curved being made up of what seemed like a hundred giant tentacles, all unmoving. As the last of the form was shone on the sliver of light passed away returning the canyon scape to the darkness of shadows.
The voice echoed out from where Evan had seen the massive form saying,
"Distant...
Yet drawing closer...
Always closer...
Time...
How much time has gone...?
How long have I slumbered...?
An ancient acolyte stirring...
Seeking that which preserves...
That which seals...
Come little one...
Find the stone...
Break the seal...
Release my power...
Let me consume the world once more...
Ancient is my hunger...
Great is my thirst...
Find the stone...
Break the seal...
Come to me..."
Evan could sense the connection growing fainter, as if something else was trying to push him out of the dreamscape...
"Serve you shall..." quivered the voice as a single tentacle pushed into light, as if having to force it's way through some unseen barrier. There it hovered a moment as black mana coalesced up it's length gathering at the tip before lightly tapping the center of Evan's forehead.
A shadowy presence seemed to wash over Evan filling him with the sense that something was now seeing what he saw, hearing what he hears, a second presence to observe and judge.
As the tentacle withdrew to the comfort of the shadows a final whisper reached his ears, "Prove your worth..."
A loud cracking noise sounded throughout the dreamscape as the ground beneath his feet knocked him off balance. When he looked up again, he was back in his swamps with the kin running about doing their daily chores...
Deth, seeing the sense in his companions words, falls into a light sleep, ready to awake at a moments notice. If one looks closely, they can see his weapons in his hands.

Time flys like an arrow. Fruit flys like a banana.
Two more days passed as the group rotated through their watch coming ever closer to Terisiare. Evan could sense the shadow presence solidifying around him the closer they drew to their objective. Finally about midday the sailor who had told them the tales from the first night cried out, "Land Ho!"
The ship buzzed to life as all of the sailors began moving about preparing for a landing. In the distance a tropical beach could be seen sitting in the shadow of a massive mountain...
I am close, Mistress, please, if there is anything that you can do to help me reach you faster, please, give me some direction.
Waking from his meditations from the previous night, after having explored what there was of the ship, and meditating on what his new Mistress had said, Evan clambers up to the Nest where he had spent much of his time, and looks on towards the land ahead.
OOC: If there is someone in the nest, Evan says, "I thought Teresere was an icy wasteland. If that is the case, where are we?"
