Tai looked around for alleys that may lead him to the portal as well, without losing as much pace...He didn't like the prospect of a two front battle...
Tai summoned a swirling green aura to himself, and from the Aether beside himself. He looked to his new friend. "That mechanism you're holding looks familiar, you know."
The necromancer and his troops loom closer. The necromancer makes a few gestures, and two more zombies step forward to join the ranks. Tai recognizes the zombies as some he's seen before.

The gun glows blue, and the marking of the Izzet on the gun's body glows.
The two illusions leap forward to block the whip-wielding zombies, pinning them down for a bit.
"No problem," says the Izzet, his gun glowing red.
The weirds launch bolts of electricity at one of the regal zombies, joined soon afterwards by a bolt of lightning from the Izzet's gun that fells the zombie. The weirds regaining energy, they work to take out another of the zombies as a blast of lightning takes down a third.
So, 2 damage from the Gelectrodes, followed by a Lightning Bolt to kill a Death Baron.
Gelectrodes untap, deal 2 damage to another. Lightning Bolt to a third. Gelectrodes untap again, dealing 2 damage to the one they damaged before, killing it. The buffs gone, the third Death Baron is now dead.
Result: Three Death Barons dead, one of which is part of the troops.
The faeries, empowered by the spells cast, leap forward to strike at the necromancer.
Tai's aura flared green once more. Watching the faerie zoom toward their foe, Tai sent a bolt of verdant force, causing the Fae two dramatically increase in size.
Tai's slowly getting closer to the portal's aura...
