Erin pulls the map out of her satchel and nods, pointing at the land itself. She looks eager, almost unable to contain her excitement at this trip. Kitsune! Other kitsune!
A smile breaks across Saffi's face at Erin's excitement. "Follow me."
Leading the way to the basement, she pauses at the bottom and speaks a single word under her breath. The portal on the far wall flashes bright blue for a single, blinding second, before it settles into a dimmer hue.
Saffi turns to Erin. "There's the portal." She hands Erin a tile. "Don't lose that, and break it when you're ready to come back."
Erin grins and follows Safi, almost jumping up and down with that excitement. Looking all around, eyes following everything. Seeing whatever she can, then cringing back with a hand over her eyes at the blinding blue light that settles into the portal.
Erin peers at the tile curiously, then looks up at Saffi and nods. Slipping it into her satchel. It's not going anywhere.
The portal deposits Erin into a forest clearing. The forest is filled with vibrant colours, and the power of life, of green mana, sits heavy in the air.
Erin looks around this forest curiously. Odd place for her to end up. She spends some time investigating the local flora before looking around for a likely direction to leave through.
Erin's expert (read; nonexistent) tracking skills lead her to that path. She peers at it, looks from one end of the clearing to the other, then starts following that path. Eyes mostly staying on the flora. The place is pretty.
The kitsune shies back, moving to hide behind a tree. She doesn't know who these people are, or why they are fighting, so she has no intention of getting involved.
The battle ends fairly quickly. Working together, the snakes only manage to slay one of the humanoids and injure another before they are taken down, the injured one faltering and falling to the forest floor. The remaining humanoids gather up both the fallen one and their injured comrade and retreat into the woods, leaving the forest quiet again. The bodies of the four-armed snakes remain on the path.
Erin winces as she watches the carnage. Sure she's fought, but... She's been the one fighting, not others. And the ones that got hurt attacked her to boot. Seeing the snakes die is almost painful for her.
The kitsune steps out onto the battlefield, then casts her gaze around for something to dig with.
The closest possibility would be a broken branch near the base of one of the trees. It's larger than Erin can handle easily, and has a fork at one end.
The boomerang strikes the earth and sends earth churning up back at Erin, partially burying her in dirt as it burrows through the ground. When the pit's at about a depth of two metres, the boomerang stops rotating and returns to Erin. The pit's about half a metre wide.
