The mime gives him a cheery smile before an elaborate bow. The hand with the scepter twirling in the air as she bends at the waist, hat and mask swept off and held to the side as her leg kicks back.
"Follow me." The samurai leads the way to the area just beyond, which looks like a makeshift horse run/archery range. Erin can see two kitsune sitting on a log, one male, one female. They both rise as they spot Erin and the samurai.
Erin follows the Samurai, looking along at the archery range. Staring for a moment at the pair of kitsune there. Three. There are three kitsune here. The thought is mindblowing.
You don't know how tempted I am to go "kitsune swarm" just to see your reaction.
The samurai bows. "Lady Pearl-Ear, I present Erin. She cannot speak, and, well..." he gestures at Erin's clothes, "she doesn't appear to be from nearby."
The female kitsune nods. "Thank you, Captain. Dismissed." The samurai bows, and leaves.
Pearl-Ear folds her hands, looking at Erin. "Erin. My name is Pearl-Ear. As you may know, I used to be Michiko Konda's teacher." She gestures to the male, a smaller fox. "My brother, Sharp-Ear."
I was wondering that too. I think she may pass out in that case.
Erin follows the Samurai on over and sort of stands back. Its a big show of how nervous and excited she is to see another of her kind that she's actually going to be talking to. She stands a little behind the Samurai, as if almost shielding herself. That is, just up to the point where he leaves.
Then she stands about awkwardly for a second as the introductions begin. There's a second's hesitation before she gives a grand bow to both of them.
Erin shifts up and looks at the two of them for a moment. Then she shakes her head, waving with her hand far, far away. Then she brings out the tablet she was given to crack when she needs to return.
The kitsune nods slowly in agreement with the first statement. But at the question... She puts her hand over her eyes, as if shading them, and peers around.

Pearl-Ear reaches forward and raises Erin from the bow. "There's no need for that."
"You're not from around here, are you?"
My helpdesk should you need me.
Sharp-Ear looks Erin over. "She doesn't appear to be from Kamigawa, sister."
My helpdesk should you need me.
My helpdesk should you need me.
"I don't believe so..."
Pearl-Ear looks at Erin searchingly. "Why are you here?"
My helpdesk should you need me.
"What are you looking for?"
My helpdesk should you need me.
An expression of realization dawns across both their faces. Sharp-Ear is the one to speak. "You're looking for other kitsune?"
She nods with a smile. She does the 'far far away gesture', then points to the two of them and covers her eyes.
My helpdesk should you need me.
"...so you came to Kamigawa?"
My helpdesk should you need me.
