Eavath grips the griffin tighter with his legs and carefully held on to a tougher handfull of feathers. He didn't particularly want to fall off in mid flight. He rubbed the griffin gently between the wings, letting it know he was ready. Eavath then nods to Talnin and Uldran, noting he was ready to go.
As the griffins launch themselves with a heave into the air, Talnin waves to the rider.
Talnin grins gleefully at the rush - it felt good to be in the air again, cold and unfamiliar as this particular sky is. He never flew very often even back home because he knew that friendly as the griffins are, they're not always in the mood for joyrides. The warmth of the creature was comforting in this foreign world.
Talnin turns to periodically check on his companions as the griffins near the crags he saw. Talnin keeps an eye out ahead and below for any signs of a settlement.
Flying was a peculiar experience for Uldran. It didn't help that the griffin didn't seem to excited to have a vampire on its back. At least Talnin was here to keep in under control.
Still, Uldran will be happy to be out of the air and on the ground again. Maybe he will try to long distance spot a group of goblins as a distraction...
As the griffins wing towards the mountain that Talnin had pointed out earlier, more of the mountain range becomes visible. Far into the distance, one particularly large mountain peak is covered in frost.
The griffins settle down on the crag, giving the mages a chance to look around. No goblin "settlements" as such, but there looks to be a massive campsite close to the border. There also look to be numerous cave entrances in the surrounding mountains.
Talnin appreciatively scratches the neck of the griffin he rode on as he turns to check on his two travelling companions.
"That camp over there," Talnin says softly and turning his head in its direction, "looks really big. What do you two make of it? Do you think they could be those bandits that the rider warned us about?"
Why didn't I think to ask Greel where on this plane he'd be dropping us off? Talnin wonders to himself as he rubs his arms to offset the chilliness of the mountain. Still, he can't help but be impressed - it is the first time Talnin's been to another plane, and the highest peaks of his homeland are literally hills compared to these.
I'm so sorry guys, I completely forgot about this x_x.
Eavath hopped down off his Griffin with his companions and very lightly leaned against it. He looked towards the settlement and listened quietly to Uldran. He nodded his head and said, "I think I'm with Uldran on this one. It would definitely be wiser to go around this campsite of sorts."
He looked at the different cave openings and said, "I'm not the one to just randomly venture into a cave, but what do you two think of trying to go through one of those?" he then pointed to the opening that was closest to them
I'm so sorry guys, I completely forgot about this x_x.
It's okay, just don't let it happen again.
Uldran ponders for a minute, then shakes his head. "I fear there really is no other way about this, we need to start somewhere. And there really isn't a way for us to find out what we are walking into. I think we should head in there, but cautiously."
"What about you Talnin?"
Uldran then turns to the cave, waiting for Talnin's answer.
"I've always wanted to go spelunking. The rider back there mentioned goblins working for that Godo guy. I wouldn't be surprised if we met some of them in these caves, and I guess this one's as good as any a place to start looking."
"Sorry guys," Talnin says to his griffins as he begins to unsummon them. Then, turning to Uldran and Eavath he adds "if that camp is a bandit camp, it's probably not the best idea to be flying around."
Talnin turns and follows Uldran towards the cave he pointed out.
Eavath nodded when his companions both agreed it was probably best to go into the caves. He followed Uldran and Talnin towards the caves, getting ready for whatever would happen to show up.
He asked them both, "What do you think we'll find in here?"
"Well, we might as well not standing here debating about stuff all day. I saw we check this one out. Maybe it'll take us to where we need to go.." Eavath stepped around his two companions and went to the mouth of the closest cave to them. He peered in, hoping to see something, or maybe even hear something, to give him a clue there was something there.
OoC: Not sure how to work the dice, winging it here:
"Not sure about his cat eyes, but my vampire eyes are quite good in darkness. It's the light that bothers me." Uldran says as he retreats a bit deeper into his hood. "That being said, I can't currently see anything in that cave...", trailing off.
"Well, I don't know about you guys, but all I see is a tunnel that seems to be going down. Guess there's only one way to go! We'll just take a quick lookaround, and if there's nothing here, we can try some other cave."
Talnin moves cautiously down the tunnel, wishing that he felt as confident as he sounded just then.
As he makes his way down the tunnel, he examines his surroundings carefully, looking at the walls and ground for anything unusual, or for signs that the cave is inhabited.
Uldran pulls off his hood as they enter the cave. Relief...
"I agree, all that I can see is this tunnel, and not much else." Even Uldran's vampire eyes could not make much out in the cave. "Talnin, let me take the lead. I will be able to peer further into the darkness. Being ambushed is not exactly something I am fond of."
Uldran pulls out a crystal vial, drinks it quickly, and puts it back into his cloak. He then takes the lead, eyes glaring forward into the black.

And where are you going? Towards the mountains in general?

"My guess is that camp is indeed the bandits that were brought up earlier. It is probably in our interests to avoid them. At all costs I would say."
Although, this didn't make Uldran any happier, knowing that they would have no help in delving through the myriad of caves in the area.

Talnin fails to suppress a grin as he pictures Uldran replying to Eavath's question with: "lunch".
"I would wager that we will find some sort of goblin, but I'm not going to be that surprised should we happen to wander into something else as well."
Uldran then shakes his head distressingly, "Although, the odds of finding the right goblin are very small..."

"I don't suppose your cat eyes see things better in the dark, huh?" Talnin asks after Eavath.
So close to what he and his companions assume is a war camp of Godo, Talnin frequently glances behind him.
No sound comes from within, and the only thing that can be seen inside the cave is a wide tunnel sloping downwards.
"Well, I don't know about you guys, but all I see is a tunnel that seems to be going down. Guess there's only one way to go! We'll just take a quick lookaround, and if there's nothing here, we can try some other cave."
