Joey nods in agreement. We should head towards the main square first.
In a town this size, everyone knows everyone else, so we should be able to get some information on those two from earlier.
"Either that or we will get swarmed by the Town Militia on our way to get information. Either way its about as good as a plan as we have going for us at this point, so lets go." Aura says as she makes her way towards the Town Square expecting Joey to follow her.

"As the size of an explosion increases, the number of social situations it is incapable of solving approaches zero." -- Varsuvius, Order of the Stick
The town's square is quite small, especially in comparison to Estark. The small town was just starting to wake up. Venders shuffle about, preparing their stands and carts for a new day of sales. The tavern kicking out the last few drunks from the night before and welcoming new customers. Among those entering the tavern are a couple men wearing similar red and white tunics to the two the faced off against earlier. as they enter they laugh at a couple of the drunks who have been kicked out and picked over but cut purses.
Joey looks around as they arrive in the square.
A quick look around reveals more men in what seems to be the uniform of the militia - red and white tunics.
Signaling to Aura, Joey says "Those men over there in the tavern.
We should follow them for now and see if we can find out who they're working for."
"We already know who they are working for, Breela and Markas told us. One Thoian. The question is how we will manage to get into the Tavern without getting attacked by a swarm of the Militia now that two of them have seen us, and escaped to tell the tale." Aura explains in a whisper meant only for Joey's ears.

"Well we could just walk in...
We only fought with those two earlier, I don't think they would be in any hurry to report that they lost a fight to two outsiders.
Our first priority is finding out where their base is.
Most likely they have Markas' and Breela's son working in their main base.
We can figure out how to get him out and what to do from there afterward."
"I hope your correct. Well then let us attempt to find out where their main base is located." Aura says, though she hesitates to actually walk straight into the Tavern itself.

"No point waiting around then." Joey says, as he walks confidently towards the Tavern.
Stepping inside the tavern, Joey takes a quick look around, before selecting a table in a corner, close to where the two militia were sitting.
catiously though not particularly slowly, Aura follows Joey into the Tavern and sits down at the same table that he sat at. Though she does her best to look unassuming in the Tavern.

The Militia men don't even look up as the Mages make their way into the Tavern. As Aura and Joey watch them they seem to be engaged simple talk while breaking their nightly fast. Soon a tavern girl makes her way over to them.
What will it be?
She says as she walks up. She looks at the two of them for a moment.
Aren't you two a little young to be here? Meh..Don't worry about it. What are you going to have?
"Coffee if you have it, Pale ale if you don't"
Joey asks the girl. Oh and whatever you're serving for breakfast as well.
Joey adds, as he listens to the Miltia men chatting amongst themselves.
She replies and walks away to get their order. She is leaves two more men belonging to the Militia walk into the Tavern. The chest and sleeves on one of the men's tunics is splattered with blood and the other has daggers in sheathes on his belt. They walk over to the table where the first two are seated and begin talking to them in hushed tones.
OOC: d20 listen check to catch what they are saying. 12 to hear some, 15 for most and 17+ for all.
Joey shifts slightly in his seat, trying to see if the new arrivals were the ones who they fought this morning.
Trying not to be to noticeable, Joey strains to make out what they are saying
Aura doesn't look up, but she does attempt to listen in on their conversation more attentively than she had been prior to the entry of the two additions to the militia's group.

Aura watches as they exit the tavern and then once they were out of earshot range says "Well it's a good thing those two didn't recognize us, else things could have gotten a bit dicey here. We will want to make our way back to Markas and Breela's home to prevent any untoward actions the Militia may take towards their home in their absence. Else the couple and their son may be looking for a new home when this is all said and done."

Well, they now know we exist so we will have to be careful from now on.
They sounded like they were going to consult with Thoian first, so they're probably heading towards their main camp.
If we follow them, we should be able to find Markas and Breela's son.
Joey drains his cup, as he stands up, ready to follow the militia.
Once we know where they're headed, we could probably set up an ambush, and stop them from getting word of us to Thoian.
"That assumes we can get between them and Thoian. I doubt that will be possible. However your point of following them has merit." Aura says as she too finishes her cup of tea and stands ready to allow Joey to lead the way.

The soon they turn into an alleyway to the right and into the back of the town's largest building. The building is marked with a large golden cross staked in front of it. Its walls have been white washed recently and its stain glass windows are something to behold.
"Hiding in plain sight...
This must be the reason everyone is too afraid to do anything, they're constantly being watched."
Joey waits a moment after the men enter the building before checking to see if there were any guards stationed outside the building. "What do you think we should do?
We could try sneak in and find their son and make sure he's safe before we do anything else."
