Kam stretched out his hands, and calling upon his connection to the distant plain, he remembered all that had fallen before him. The air filled with lights and souls, compelling everyone to put down their weapons.
Kam thanks the spirits that the goblins stopped thier assault, to buy time for him to figure out a solution. This will only work for so long, He thought to himself, as he planned his next move.
Feeling his connection to the distant plains strengthening yet again, Kam called out for assistance from beyond. Through the portal created, a young man, riding a horse, came forth, drawing his weapon against the horde. He barely looked old enough to fight, but he brought his weapon to bear against the rising goblin army. The hawk circled above Kam's head, waiting for the right moment to strike.
Xiras sends two blasts of air repelling the large moggs charging towards him. THen the others just stopped in their tracks, Kam certainly wields some interesting magics.
Xiras makes a connection to another source of mana, three wisps now encircle his slender figure. Two wisps draw into one of his fans causes it to glow, he makes a slashing motion tearing a rift into the air, a rift with a creature attempts to force its way through.
Six more Goblins of two different types make their way into the clearing. One type carries a flaming Mace, the second is a simply wearing fighting gear. The one carrying Maces take command of the other Goblins and they all attack again.
OOC: There needs to be 2 more Unsummons in your yard
Xiras flicks his fan, sending a blast of air at torch bearing goblin repelling him from the battlefield. However the goblins wearing fighting gear seems so much more daunting now that they were bearing down upon him, he hoped that Kam could do his thing again.
OOC: Of all the times regretting not grabbing Wrath of God...
"More Goblins!" Kam shouted as they broke the clearing, but it seemd the Xiras already had a hand on what was going on. Kam returned to the battle, calling down the lights once again. The lights and souls returned in force, distracting the goblins, averting a beating that Kam would never forget. The lights gave the two a second to breath.
"We might need to think about a stragetic retreat at this moment. That was the last time that I could do that. Got any ideas?" Kam said, turning to Xiras.

Smile your day could be worse, so I did smile and it was worse.
Kam took in a sharp breadth of air as the blast of blue mana hit home. The brief flash that passed through his mind stirred up memories that he hadn't seen in a long time, along with the memories of the past spells that he had just casted. After releasing the beadth that he was holding onto, he turned towards the moonfolk in appreciation.
"Thanks," Kam said genuinely. Perhaps I have misjudged the mage, Kam though, but then quickly dismissed any idle thoughts and returned to the battlefield.
Calling upon another connection to the plains of his homeland, he summoned another young rider, bolstering the ranks of thier steadily growing army. While the second young knight recovered from the journey through the portal, Kam ordered the first knight to the second goblin carrying the mace, rallying the goblins to take up arms.
The Chieftian tries to defend itself, but to no avail. He quickly finds that the Knight's spear is through his gut. The others roar angrily, now with all of their attention towards Kam. They charge after him, blades and fists ready.
Kam smirked, and funneled power through a connection to the long distant plains. The lights and souls returned to the battlefield, distracting the goblins yet again. Kam breathed a sigh of relief as the distraction worked for a third time.
OOC: Assuming nothing else happens, I'm going to go ahead and take my turn.
After the Goblins stopped thier assault, Kam sought another connection with the distant plains, but this time a large tower erupted in the space behind him. All throughout the structure, humans could be seen scurring around, prepping the tower for war. While the humans scurried around, Kam through up another portal, this time a brother to the hawk lept forth from the portal, screeching to join its winged fellow. Finally, Kam ordered the two knights to attack the Goblins that seem to be immune to Xiras' magic.
Xiras smiles as he sees the knight kill the goblin.
"Nice work"
The rift tears wider as the creature struggles through partially emerging from the other side.
Xiras takes the opportunity to make another connection, four wisps of Cyan circle him now.

The Goblin fighters are fell by the Knights' spears. As the Knights fell back the other Goblins roar and hiss. They seems to argue for a moment, pushing and shoving each other around. After they have seemed to reach an agreement they start to hiss and growl at the Mages as they back away from them and into the forest.
Xiras breathes a sigh of relief at the retreat of the goblins, wipes himself clear of the dust from the fall and then does a quick search around to check he didnt drop anything in his fall from the thopter.
"Well that was a rough start, lets hope the rest of the job goes better than that."
Looks around again to gain his bearings, looking for the mountains, their destination, he spots them to the North
"Shall we go then.", he says trekking towards the edge of the clearing.

Kam Exhaled the breadth he was holding onto, suprised the goblins retreated instead of charging head on. After making sure the goblins wern't just suprising them for another attack, he dismissed the creatures he had summoned, after thanking them for the effort they put into the fight. He then turned to Xiras, to make sure he was alright. Seeing the mage dusting himself off, Kam responded.
"Ha. You got that right. At least the adventures here are exciting." Kam said, smiling. "Lets hope that things do go better for the rest of the journey."
Kam turned with Xiras, and headed towards the North. "You're right, lets get going. We dont want to be here too long, in case another goblin party decides to come along. I've had enough of them already."

The duo heads north into the forest. Their travel is peaceful and there are no signs that the Goblins have taken up following them. The soon come across a path in the middle of the woods. It appears to be well traveled by the local inhabitants: Goblins, Orcs and Ogres.
Kam hesitated as they ran upon the well-worn path. His tracking instincts took over, and he took a long look down both directions of the path, making sure that no one was approaching. Once Kam was sure there was not a soul coming, he knelt down and studied the tracks that appeared in the clearing. He identified three distinct set of tracks. One looked similiar to the adversaries they had just faced, the other two Kam had never seen before; but he guessed that the other two belonged to Orcs and Ogres, both creatures mentioned by their employer. He shared this information with Xiras, and then took a look at the directions the path headed.
"These paths are well worn, could be a direct route to where we need to go for the key," Kam said to Xiras, standing up in the process. "However, that could put us in the path of running into more...unfreindly locals."
Kam paused for a second. "Either way, the old man did say the key lies with Orcs in the southernmost range of the mountains." Kam turned along the path heading towards that section of the mountains. "I'm up for getting out of here as soon as possible. What do you think?" He said to Xiras

"Considering I'm worse for wear mainly due to my own clumsiness rather than any action of the locals I say we take the path. Also the path is a relatively safe route, we aren't as likely to stubble in a chasm or the like on the path as we are stumbling through the forest."

Now of the path they move quickly. They soon find themselves at the edge of the forest and staring up into the mountains. As they make their way into the mountains they find themselves at a fork in the road. One way heads to the North-East and the other to the North-West.
Kam stopped at the fork in the road, and took a moment to study the directions that the road headed. Bending down, he also studied the tracks on the ground, noticing where the three seperate tracks were headed, and the frequency of each.
Sooo...I guess I would like a description of both paths and how far I can see down them, as well as where the three distinct set of tracks go, please?

Both paths head up into the mountains and disappear behind ridges about the same point of elevation. The Eastern path has a lot of Goblins tracks and no Ogre ones. The Western one has Ogre track, but no Goblin tracks. Both of them seem to have an equal amount of Orc tracks.
