He says as he reaches into a pocket and pulls out four scrolls. He hands two to either Mage.
These are scrolls containing Ornithopters to provide transport to and from Ironclaw. They have been made with flight setting written in so they already know where to go, you just need to get in them and they will do the rest.

Xiras face lights up at the prospect of travelling through the sky again, he eagerly accepts the scrolls pockets one in his satchel and clasps the other tightly in his hand.
"Thank you, we should see you in a few days with your key if all goes according to plan"
Xiras turns and walked into the street outside the tavern and begins to read from the scroll.

Kam saw the contraption appear out of thin air air, and read his scroll as quickly as possible. A second contraption, the exact make as Xiras', appeared next to Kam. He climbed into cockpit.
"Let's get going-we have a key to retrieve"
The Omnithropter started moving, and Kam took off in the machine towards their destination.

The Ornithopters sring to life as the Mages strap themselves in. Their gears start to move and pistons get to pumping. Within moments the Mages find themselves in the skies over Estark. The 'Thopters circle over the city for a moment before surging off to the North-East.
OOC: Moment for you two to RP with each other, if you want to, or I can press on.
OOC: Im up for a bit of role play along the way to the mountains-been awhile since I've actually done any RP to begin with...
Kam took in the view from above, taking in the sight of the entire city from a bird's eye view. It went on for longer than he thought, It seemed different from where he was, almost showing a view of controlled order instead of the chaos on the streets. After the machines made the circle of the city, they surged off towards their destination.
"I guess we never formally introduced ourselves to each other. Name's Kam." Kam shouted, Waiving from his Omnithropter. "I'm new to the area, and just recently joined House Benalia, if that gives you any indication about me. Dont worry though-I have already proven myself a competent mage." Kam added, almost too quickly.
"So how about you? How long have you been here?"

The ornithopter sways from side to side gently avoiding plumes of smoke rising from fireplaces in the city below. Xiras smiles, enjoying the feeling of flying again although the environment is noisier than he would have liked. Suddenly Kam's voice breaks through the monotony of the sound of gears spinning.
Xiras yells back
"I'm Xiras, a relatively new member of the House of the Lat-nam wizards. I haven't been in the city that long, just long enough to finish a single job and get accustomed to the stares of the townsfolk. Speaking of which I haven't caught you staring at my appearance, have you encountered a moonfolk before?
"I was wondering what race you were." Kam replied honestly, over the whines of the machine. "I have never seen or heard of moonfolk before. But living on the outskirts of town for so long, you meet all sorts of people, and some of them are not human. I've seen my fair share creatures in my day, especially with my talents, so I'm not too phased by it. When word spreads you are a mage, it tends to draw people from everywhere looking to 'use' your talent."
Kam sat back a little bit in the Omnithropter, feeling the wind whipping through the exposed cockpit. "But since I haven't seen any moonfolk around, where are you from? You far from home?"

"I come from the plane of Kamigawa and its not surprising that you haven't heard of the moonfolk outside the plane, so yes I am far from home."
Kam studied the moonfolk for a second after seeing him mutter something softly, lost in the wind and the wine of the machinery. Somthing read of pain in his past, and Kam made a mental note about it to ask the moonfolk later.
"I have never heard of Kawigama before, so you are definately far from home." Kam responded. "And I would like to hear more, maybe at a time where we aren't straining ourselves to have a simple conversation." He said, while smiling. "So shall we get started on our adventure, and when we get off these blasted things, continue our conversation?"

They soon find themselves descending into the Mountains. A clearing in the middle of a small forest just to the South of the Mountains appears to be where the 'thopters are going to land. While this wouldn't normally be a problem, it is currently occupied by at least a dozen Goblins.
"Goblins!" Xiras yelled as he notices them. He certainly does want to be strapped into the flying machine when they land, he'll have to move quickly. Knowing this he unfastens the straps restraining him, despite the danger. He quickly draws a wisp of blue mana to himself, and readies his weapons for a fight.

Kam heard Xiras' yell just as the Omnithropter started to descend, indicating the clearing was occupied by a group of small creatures.
"Goblins. Of course." Kam muttered under his breath. "It had to be Goblins of all things."
Kam took a deep breath, and unstrapped himself from the Omnithropter as it descended towards the clearing. He pulled his scythe from his back, and extended the blade into the ready position. As he felt his connection to a distant plain grow, he took a brief look over towards the other adventurer, and did a slight double-take when he saw that Xiras had pulled out a set of Fans, of all things.
This should be interesting Kam thought to himself Lets see how he handles himself in a fight. He turned his attention to the field below.
"You got an idea, or are we just going to hack and slash this thing?" Kam called over to Xiras.
The Mages pull violently against the 'Thopter's controls and try to aim them at the Goblins.

OOC: Ouch...that hurt. but things will go probably about as bad for me...
This is why I prefer wings when flying, Kam thought as he wrestled with the controls. Finally giving up on the situation, Kam decided to abandon the Omnithropter as it got closer to the ground.

Xiras takes the opportunity to produce a blast of air with the second fan repelling one of the larger goblins from the immediate area.
Xiras draws another wisp of cyan mana to himself, now two wisps circle him.
He then wipes the blood from his fan and readies himself for another assault from the goblins.

Kam took a brief look on the battlefield, and saw all the goblins surrounding them in the area. He felt his connection grow with another plains far away, and using his first connection, summoned a large bird out of the aether. The golden hawk screeched at the goblins before returning to the side of Kam. Kam quickly checked up on Xiras' condition, he interposed himself between him and a majority of the smaller goblins.
"If you're sure you can handle them, I'll take care of the little guys." Kam said over his shoulder to Xiras. Then, he turned his attention to approaching horde.
