<Don't even try it.> Aggron's magical energy has not dissipated, not even a little. With sharp jerks of his hands, he casts a spell that infuses itself in his limbs, granting him unnatural and terrifying speed. He leaps onto the golem's back, shredding its control mechanisms and breaking the enchantments that keep it animated.
Aggron has ten mana from last fight, so I have a lot of choices here. I'm assuming the creature is tapped and is treated like a creature rather than like a mage, so I'm going for an Assassinate here. If those conditions are not correct, I will edit.
OOC: Yeah i just need to know whats going on here because well Gear as we know is a long term planner. And now i need to figure out what is in my satchel as i've not used it for so dam long.

The golem was quickly shredded into scraps of etherium from Aggron's spell leaving Dannin to fall to the ground coughing as he rubbed his bruised throat. After a few moments of coughing and catching his breath, Dannin spun on Aggron and shouted angrily, "You didn't have to destroy it! That was a delicate piece of artifice! Didn't you here the inquiry it made? It was trying to determine if I was an intruder! And... and... you went and destroyed it..."
Dannin looked worried as he was connecting the dots saying, "It was asking if I was an intruder..."
Dannin turned to Gear fear in his eyes as he asked, "Didn't you say there were no more guardian constructs? That constructs inquiry implies that it was a guardian. A guardian to this fascinating find..."
The anger rose in Dannin's throat again as he threw a glance at Aggron...
Gear: Dannin I said that last I knew there were no more guardian constructs although those dam things had a tendency to put themselves back together over and over again. It was quite annoying if i say so myself. And more importantly I'd suggest you calm yourself for now. Our friend here did no evil and more importantly the golems parts are still here for study.

Aggron gives Gear a quick look. He's not sure what to make of this new mage yet, but he already likes him better than Dannin. <You cried for help. I'm a black mage, with some green in me. I don't deal with artifice by restraining it. Plus, this is an automated piece of machinery, not an intelligent one. Trying to stop it is an exercise in futility.>
Gear: Well thats easy enough, I guess from a non technical standpoint. I brought you hear to see if we could study and/or activate this planar gate and whatever artifice is around and thats exactly what I think we should aim for. Much easier in theory than practice. Oh understanding the game could be especially important since our friend here referenced something about a demon he needed to take care of. Oh but one thing Dannin Gears voice becomes quite stern all of a sudden don't touch those panels over there unless you are absolutely sure because last time I did I had quite the rapid brush with death before the portal flickered

Dannin nodded as he pulled out his leather-bound journal and made a quick sketch of the wall lined with the circles representing individual portals. Walking over to where Aggron had appeared he said, "I'll mark this one as our, Grixis was it, portal?"
Dannin's question was oriented towards Aggron but he did glance to Gear in case the cat recalled correctly.
<Yes, I think so. I came in from Ravnica, but Lou definitely went to Grixis.> Aggron has a fair amount to think about now. He moves off against one wall, sits, and begins to meditate, trying to feel the mana around him and recall that serenity he associates with green mana. He knew what his plan would be if he was fighting Lou, but now...
Aggron's mind pushes out feeling several sources of mana. Far above him he can feel the strong presence of forest mana akin to a sea. Encompassing the lab though was a net of black mana along with two other forms he couldn't quite identify...
-----
Dannin nods and moves down the row of portals until he gets to one marked by jet, pearl, and sapphire gems. In front of this portal was the assortment of artifice the golem had been collecting. Curious Dannin began poking around to see what all had been collected while calling out to Gear asking, "What do you think that golem was doing with all of this artifice?
While I am thinking about it, when I do rewards at the end of this quest remind me to take into account Aggron's previous two quests, the search and the battle.
Gear: I Don't rightly know. Last time they were grabbing old artifice to feed into some type of ground system that mashed up that machinery and stuff. And those golems didn't talk either. Let me take a look around maybe it was piling the stuff somewhere?
With the light on Gear now begins to take a more thorough look over the lab including looking up at the planar map on the ceiling.
Gear: Hey Dannin I also remembered look up that map might be more interesting to you than quite a bit in here.

Dannin looks up at the planar map and drops his jaw in astonishment saying, "Is that what I think it is...?"
The question had been directed to no one in general and he wasn't listening for a response as he studied the map intently. There was one point of movement that caught his eyes. Pointing he asked, "What do you suppose that represents?"
Following his finger you can see five triangles consisting of three colors each. All five were slowly rotating in a circle around a multi-hued gem flashing the five colors of mana. Occasionally one of the five triangles would have a tip brush by the central gem before pushing back off into 'orbit' around the central gem. One of the five gems, colored red, blue, and purple, was tending to dip more often than the others...
Aggron's trying to get a fix on the last two sources of mana, but Dannin's excitement breaks his focus. Irritated, he gets up and walks over. He glances briefly at the diagram....then he turns back and looks hard at it.
<Well, that's definitely Grixis,> he says, gesturing at the red-blue-purple triangle. <Those are the colors of mana that are....there....Oh, of course. That's Alara. I cam from here originally,> he gestures at the red-green-purple triangle. <It's a place called Jund, where dragons rule. I've never been to the other three shards, but I know they exist. This triangle is Esper, the shard of artifice and the home of singularly evil blue mages. I don't remember the names of the other two, but they complete the mana cycle of Alara. But I have no idea what that gem in the center represents. Alara is supposed to be far away from anything where the colors of mana work in harmony....>
<Grixis is....almost as bad as Esper, actually. There's almost nothing alive there; the undead rule over it completely. The only ones still living are small bands of survivors and powerful necromancers who control whole hordes of undead. The demon I'm chasing is one such necromancer, but he's not content with ruling a chunk of Grixis; he wants to invade the plane of Dominaria as well. I have to close the portal he's using to go between.>
Aggron pauses and looks around. <So....where, exactly, are we? I can tell this is some kind of planar lab, but what plane are we actually on? We were distracted earlier when I asked.>
"Oh, we're in an underground lab beneath some ruins in the Fors Basin forests, still on the plane of Dominaria." replied Dannin.
Dannin's gaze flashed across the portal where the construct had been piling artifice. An idea began to form in his head as he spoke aloud, "That far portal leads to Grixis supposedly... The map above shows five shards circling a center gem... You named the blue, white, and black shard as Esper and this portal has the same color scheme..."
Dannin walks over to the far portal Aggron had come out and called back, "And this one has the Grixis shard color scheme... Do you think that construct was trying to transport all of those artifice to Esper?"
<That may be it. But....if that's the case...> Aggron looks at the map once more, thinking hard. <That means this gem represents Dominaria, right? Our plane? Which is why it's multicolored. And that suggests that Alara is somehow moving....closer to us. I don't know much about planar physics, but this looks like Alara is awfully close to us here. Easy to jump to.>
<This could be very, very bad. This plane is not ready for Alara. Our mages could probably handle it, but the commonfolk? I saw what happened once when that demon got loose. And he's not even the worst thing there.>
<Someone needs to know about this. Even if I'm wrong, this is too great a risk to take. We need one of the higher-up mages, someone who has some real political clout, to know about this.>
Dannin nodded his head in agreement saying, "That could be the case here. But I can't help but notice that the center gem being circled by those five shards is smaller than any one of those shards."
Dannin's gaze sweeps across the planar ceiling map where he spots several larger gems and stones as big as all five shards together. He looks back to Aggron saying, "If those five shards are circling our plane than we have a great deal to fear by their shear size overwhelming our plane. This may not be the case though as our own ancient records indicate Dominaria being one of the larger known planes in the multiverse, at least according to recorded accounts of 'Walkers."
Dannin thinks a bit more saying, "If we're not that gem then that's an indication of some sort of planar phenomenon occurring in the multiverse around those shards. A potential reason for this demon of yours heading there?"
<Maybe....> But then Aggron shakes his head. 't know enough to say either way. All I really know about him is that he's a monster who enjoys suffering, and he's gone after me personally a couple times. He's also native to Grixis, if I understand correctly. But if there is some planar phenomenon happening near Alara, all the more reason for me to go there. Stuff like that attracts planeswalkers, and I've been looking for them as well.>
Dannin looks back to the Grixis portal and then back to Aggron saying, "I'm sure of it. The only problem is finding a power source to activate the portal."
Gear: Well as i mentioned before those control pads over there and over there tap into the underground power source that is drawn to this place. Only they seem to be currently either low on power as they draw life force or they require one skilled enough in the use of mana to activate them.

Gear: Dannin you arn't suggesting what I think you are. If you think that I'm foolish enough to even touch one of those pads over there without some thought we will seriously need to have a discussion. Now if you are suggesting something else that only involves channeling the energy I use explain how you expect me to apply it because I don't really follow.
