Gear found himself waiting over an hour at the front gate of Lat-Nam before he saw the clerk. At least Gear had a small flicker of hope that it was the clerk. That is until the clerk tripped over his robes spilling the parchments and inks in his hands onto the paved ground along with the contents of his travel pack.
A soft curse escaped from the clerk's mouth as he rubbed his sore knees. Then seeing Gear in his cat form, the clerk said, "Oh! Uh... Hi! I'm your clerk for the expedition..."
As his voice trailed off he quickly went about gathering the spilled supplies.
Gear sighs. This is going to be a long trip. Doing what he can to help Gear grabs an odd quill or two and drops it with the rest of the the clerks supplies. While doing so though, he calls for his mechanical bunny and has it drop a small silver sphere in front of Gear.
Gear: Also take this it will let you understand me normally. Place it either near or in your ear it will do the rest. This way i don't have to consistently call for one of my constructs unless of course you speak fluent cat.
Gear laughs to himself at the last comment. He's only met one or two individuals that could speak cat and needless to say it was amusing.

The clerk looked hesitant to stick the silver sphere in his ear. But he shrugged and stuck it in anyway seeing as Barrin had told him to follow Gear's commands on this expedition. Then as he continued to pick up the quills gathered by Gear he asked, "Barrin did tell me that I'll be your assistant for this expedition. He also told me that I was to be discreet with whatever we discover. What he didn't tell me was where exactly we were going. All I know is a general direction to some forests that I was unaware of having anything that warranted an expedition..."
OOC: Sorry life has been complicated to say the least.
Happy that he no longer needs his rabbit he dismisses it and begins to talk normally.
Gear: You will be surprised at the things that you can find in some forests. Especially if what i found has gone undisturbed this whole time. I will explain in greater detail what we are going for after we get moving out of the city. What I have found could mean a great deal to the progress of things.
With that Gear awaits the clerk patiently to set off.

The clerk leads the cat out into the courtyard of House Lat-Nam, he pulls out a scroll and what looks like a sort of mana battery. He channels a minuscule amount of energy into the scroll, and in unfolds into a primitive ornithopter. It's a fairly large one, with sufficient room for himself, Gear, and a bit of equipment.
Gear begins to relay the details of the direction they must head keeping in mind to indicate that the path that they are taking is for the most part directly traceable from the city of Estark. He also notes that the forestry itself will probably lead the way as he noted that when he had left the ruins. Luckily a cat never forgets especially one with a mind like a machine.
Gear: And after the forest breaks we will find the ruins. I only hope that that alarm i heard when we left does not hold an ill omen for our arrival.
With that Gear begins to tap his metal leg slowly against the surface of the ornithopter in almost a nervous manner. Needless to say Gear is expecting one hell of a journey.

Gear: Well its my curiosity that brought me there. After leaving Estark some time ago I decided to search about to see if I could find some old artifice worth researching. I then happened across some very peculiar liquid metal and well as my arm is proof curiosity got the best of me. A black out period soon followed. Shortly thereafter I awoke in the cabin of some hunters that told me of the ruins and the possibility of finding more of the metal. If it is capable of doing this to my arm i can only wonder what else it could do. The rest was exploration.

Gear: Oh where are my manners I'm Gear by the way. As for fitting in at Lat-Nam that would be interesting if it weren't for my different perspective about artifice and magic. So tell me Danin what exactly did the housemaster tell you about where we are going or were ruins the best he gave you.

Gear: Well then since you are with me there really isn't anything I shouldn't tell you. The ruins we are heading to are most likely the remnants of a planeswalkers lab. The things inside of it are needless to say very interesting and the interplanar travel device is unique. They use mana and therefor this is why i needed someone capable of doing so to as I myself don't. I could try to explain more but without seeing it yourself much of what I would say would be quite lacking.

"Ah... I don't channel much mana myself, but I do have several mana batteries and powerstones with me," he says. "Those should suffice."
After an hour's worth of flight, the thopter begins a search pattern over a forested area. It's another twenty minutes before a bright flash of light erupts in the near distance. Gear can't be sure, but it looks approximately like where the ruins are. Or, at least, where they were.
Gear: What in the hell was that. Head there. I'm fairly sure that's where the ruins were. I hope they are still there. It would be just my luck find a unexplored lab and then leave to get help only to have it destroyed.
Gear sounds somewhat concerned. What he found was quite special and if he hadn't needed help he would never have left.

I was waiting for something else to happen. It hasn't. I shall move this forward, nonetheless.
Danin nods, and wheels the thopter around towards where the light had been. There is no smoke rising from where the blast had been.
As they get closer, they see an odd sight: A human mage, what looks like a white mage, is in magical combat with an angel. The angel is surrounded by the wrecked remains of some of the familiar titans, spiders, and the shrapnel of some winged apparatuses. The angel looks definitely the worse for wear.
OOC: I suspected as much. But keeping me in the loop is sometimes a good thing. Alright question now as i'd rather not push forward without at least having some sense of whats going on. Am i waiting on Sylver or not? I know thats who you have in front of me but our meshing confuses me. I will act basically though.
Gear is confused now this doesn't quite make as much sense as he had hoped for. He had figured it was just some of the constructs from before but a mage and an angel. Now this is getting interesting.
Gear: Danin I suspect that we should be careful here. This battle is not ours and i don't want to be dragged into it. But just be on guard should that wreckage begin to move again. I've already killed those things a few times already i really don't want to have to kill those constructs again.

"Alright," Danin says, and wheels the 'thopter into a kind of holding pattern, circling around the area, observing the continuing fight.
Gear can see the human glance at her right hand, and say something to the angel. The right hand appears to be clad in some kind of gauntlet... or, as Gear notes that he can see the woman's clothes through her arm, possibly more of that metal.
OOC: You've never responded am I or am I not waiting on Sylver?
Gear continues his observation of the battle now especially interested in the presence of that familiar metal that now makes up his arm. Somewhere in the back of his mind the clockwork that is his thought process begins to move. Again the metal and then there is this angel. He needs to have some idea of whats going on but until the combatants do something he won't know for sure.

The paladin below sends her hawk in, who scratches up the angel.
The angel shifts her gaze, and a flash of purple light shines through the angel's hair, looking almost directly at the 'thopter. She then summons a knight mounted on a griffin.
OOG: You may if you wish. It might be construed as threatening, however.
IG: Danin nods rather emphatically, and swings the 'thopter around, starting to spiral in for a landing, keeping a good distance away from the ensuing battle.

"Ready to go?"
Gear: I'm ready when you are. And here I thought we were going to walk.
He settles into the thopter. "Where is it, roughly?"
