Tezzeret frowned at Aramil's ability to muster more mana for spells. Then with a laugh he cast the now familiar counterspell once more saying, "No more delays!"
That's when Aramil slammed through Tezzeret's defenses that Jace had set in place. A memory triggered in Tezzeret's mind off of the vision of Vedalken attacking Aramil.
Tezzeret had been in a dark room examining blank metal sheets cursing the name of the Seekers. Four figures attacked Tezzeret mirroring the four Vedalken attacking Aramil. The four sliced into Tezzeret bringing him to the edge of death's door, just as the four before Aramil were about to do the same to him.
But something inside of Tezzeret refused to die. He was too angry to die at their hands. He refused to die, no he would not die there not like this. A pain wracked Tezzeret's body as energy burst through every cell of his being. A primal scream of pain echoed in the chamber as the Vedalken continued tearing into Tezzeret.
And then there was a blissful sense of weightlessness. A momentary silence and calm, followed by his howling screams in a wasteland...
Aramil was knocked out of the memory and back into reality as the first of the Vedalken cut into him. Jace had severed his connection not wanting to experience the death. Now Aramil felt alone in what seemed to be the last seconds of his life.
Slowly the Vedalken seemed to press into Aramil edging closer to his death. Then the Elemental stirred.
Is this how you plan to let things end? To be an oath-breaker!?
Aramil could see Jace looking away from the Vedalken, turning to leave while Tezzeret looked on in satisfaction...
"Give me strength old friend. I need help to hold on."
Aramil grabbed the blade slipping into his body and winced at the pain. Still, he had a mission to do, and he was not going to fail. He refused to fail.
Desperately, Aramil cast his consciousness out as a beacon, summoning a fellow agent or a necrosage to receive the intel he was sent to retrieve.
"You have not won yet." Aramil said as he summoned all of his strength to hold the vedalken's blades from slipping into his body.
"Oh God, please get here quickly." Aramil thought to himself, the first moment of weakness he experienced since arriving in Estark.
Aramil glared at Tezzeret as he tried to hold onto his life, shaking and sweating from the shear pain flowing through him.
Time froze as the Elemental sensed Aramil's moment of weakness.
You're really giving up!? You promised to return me to my Aramil. You promised to become a powerful mage! You promised to defeat these bastards! YOU SWORE NEVER TO BE WEAK AGAIN! NEVER TO BE POWERLESS TO DEFEND WHAT YOU CARE ABOUT!
Storm's voice became a calm rumble,
There is no one to pass on your discoveries to. You asked for Circu's trust in this matter. You are alone with your discoveries. For the first time in the history of Ravnica the Dimir will be blind to the threat they face. If you die then all knowledge of the Infinite Consortium spanning multiple planes dies with you!
Who will come to the aid of your fellow guild-mates?
Storm brought an image of Jeremy's toothy grin to the front of Aramil's mind. How can he hope to defend himself against someone you were powerless to even defend against?!
Storm showed an image of Jeremy's lifeless body laying at the feet of Tezzeret and Jace.
Storm then conjured an image of Ravnica's sewers burning while the other Guilds remained oblivious to the tenth guild's demise.
You've given up! You've decided to be an oath-breaker! What right do you have to ask for my help!
Aramil's vision of the real world felt blurred as he felt the blades slicing into him slowly draining his life away. The only thing that seemed in focus was Tezzeret's triumphant sneer.
Aramil held on for dear life, shaking as his body tried to give out on him.
"You are right. I cannot fall here. Not now. I must stop them."
Aramil took a defiant step, and the blades that had punctured him slipped in deeper.
Aramil's body lurched from the pain, begging him to just lay down and die.
Aramil took another step.
Aramil tried to raise his blade to strike at the vedalken that had him impaled but his hands went numb and he dropped the blade. Aramil almost fell at that moment, but he kept standing.
"I cannot let down my brotherhood. I must fight."
Aramil took another step, and stared at the sneering visage of Tezzeret, the rest of his world going blank. Defiantly, Aramil summoned forth everything he had in him, and tried to mindwalk directly into Tezzeret's consciousness.
Yes! shouted Storm as Aramil's body gave out but the mind continued on. Aramil could sense Storm rising like a gathering storm, echoing Aramil's determination. An ebbing of power flowed out from Aramil as he walked into the depths of Tezzeret's mind.
There, in Tezzeret's core, Aramil sensed something strange and new. His best interpretation would be that of a condensed ball of magic connected to infinite lines spreading outward.
An echo of a second heart beat pulses from within Aramil.
Aramil's will was becoming a mighty force pushing aside Tezzeret's defenses, Storm becoming a hurricane in turn. Aramil associated the memory of Tezzeret's first walk through the Blind Eternities with this ball of energy in the man's core.
Another echo, a stronger pulse this time.
Tezzeret's feelings during that memory echoed Aramil's right now, a familiar yet alien sensation spreading out from his core.
A screaming pulse bursting forth, his heartbeat the echo now.
Aramil's body trembled on the Vedalken's weapons as unbelievable pain and power surged out from his core, pulling him in what felt like every direction at once.
As Aramil took hold of the pain and power he heard Storm say, That's more like my Aramil. Now live!
That's the first flaring of Aramil's spark. Continue with your interpretation of the rest of the spark flaring process. Aramil now has enough power to make a grandiose exit stage left when he does his first walking into the Blind Eternities.
Aramil's body lurched, and suddenly his vision was clear. He looked up as Tezzeret, and for a brief moment, stared into Tezzeret's eyes.
Aramil then smiled.
In an instant, the meager wisps of wind circling Aramil burst into a typhoon, tearing the summons and artifacts assembled asunder. Aramil's eyes, mouth, and ears burst with a brilliant blue light as Storm's essence threatened to escape his form. Brilliant azure and lavender bolts wrapped all around Aramil, slowly and surely consuming and tearing away his form as he walked towards his fellow neowalkers.
The winds pulsating and increased in intensity with every step Aramil took towards Jace and Tezzeret. Aramil got in Tezzeret's face, his entire form almost completely engulfed in energy and lightning, and he said, "I will return to you, Tezzeret. I will make you pay for every transgression you dare to take against my brotherhood."
Then, Aramil exploded in a torrent of wind and lighting, sending a shockwave of colossal proportions away from his old location.
Both Tezzeret and Jace were sent flying from the roof top in the wake of Aramil's awakening. Both landed hard on the street below, Jace breaking his arm. Grunting the two picked themselves up and looked at the point where Aramil had vanished.
Jace asked through clenched teeth, "Should we follow?"
Tezzeret glared at the vacant spot reliving the last words Aramil spoke to him saying, "No, he walked away blindly for the first time. There's no telling where he will end up. Meet back at the--"
Tezzeret flinched squeezing his eyes shut in pain as a psionic backlash of pain hit him from the sudden vacancy Aramil had left.
Jace looked at Tezzeret with concern asking, "Are you okay?"
Tezzeret responded by slapping Jace across the face with his etherium arm saying, "Damnit, Beleren. You were supposed to defend against his attacks! Report back at the main headquarters for the Consortium. I'll deal with your shortcomings then!"
With that, Tezzeret tapped into his artifacts gathering the necessary mana and walked off this plane. Jace rubbed his cheek with his good arm and began gathering the necessary mana. Soon he walked away himself, following Tezzeret...
