're no threat to us, but they could be a problem for Ravnica if enough of them got through.> Aggron looks at the portal for a long moment before continuing.
<Let's hurry. And don't break all the obelisks just yet.> Swiftly and with brutal precision, Aggron begins slaying zombies at a furious pace.
Play 1x Swamp
Use 3x Skyshroud Ranger to make 2x Forest and 1x Swamp
Discard 1x Nightshade Assassin to Mongrel 1, giving it +1/+1 and turning it white, and madness out the assassin. Reveal 4x Festering Goblin and kill off the Death Baron. Then kill the assassin with the tailblade. Next, discard a second assassin to the other mongrel, also giving it +1/+1 and turning it white, and also madnessing out the second assassin, which returns the first one from the graveyard to the field. Reveal the same four goblins again, twice, killing off the Skeletal Kathari and a Dregscape Zombie. Finally, use my boosted Mongrels to take down the two Zombie Outlanders.
Retracting my ruling from before based off the notation Red used. I am fairly certain he meant for the black swamp symbols by creatures to be indication of those creatures being in a general graveyard. I'm going with that.
Again a familiar wave of zombies spill forth from the portal. This time however a new wave of creatures come forth, these appearing to be horrors from the plane of Grixis oozing with power...
A look of confusion crosses Gully's face as Aggron asks that not all of the obelisks be destroyed. She refocuses as she hears the roars of the new arrivals.
They will be crushed.
She thinks as she has her gloves light up with Mana. She makes another ball of Mana and has it burst into a group of ten beetles. She then gathers the remainder together and sends a wave of it out over her Insect army; the Insects in turn become the size of wolves. She sends four of the to the obelisk where no Zombies are, and another six towards where two Zombies are. The rest she has attack those right in front of her.
28 Insect Tokens Green 1/1 [10 and SS, 18 :symtap:: 4 attacking obelisk 4; 6 attacking obelisk 1; 1 attacking Death Baron, 1 on each Kederekt Creeper, and 1 on each Dregscape Zombie all at the Portal]
The description in game of Gully's actions indicate casting Beacon of Creation and Overrun. That's a total of 9 mana but you've indicated only 5 being tapped, probably just a small error.
There is only one portal and that's in the center at the top of the ziggurat. At the four corners of the ziggurat is an obelisk powering the center portal. These obelisks can be attacked.
Also, shame on you for not having your character up to date in our records. Send me a PM linking to the post when you picked up the spell so we can update the records.
If you've cast the previously two mentioned spells then that leaves you with two spells for the turn cycle which will allow you to send those two groups to attack the specified obelisks, 1 spell per group sent to a different zone.
As soon as those pieces are updated I'll continue with resolving the action.
While we're on the subject, all the zombies at the obelisks are dead.
The symbol blazes again as Cyouni infuses the spirit with mana, enough to almost double its strength.
Touching the tip of the flaming blade to the spirit's scythe, Cyouni draws a portion of the spirit's strength into the sword, tainting the flame black. The spirit's scythe slashes across the obelisk, followed swiftly by the black-flamed sword.
Three of the obelisks quickly crumpled under the combine assault from Cyouni's and Gully's creatures, sending out bursts of black mana towards the center portal causing it to triple in size while fluctuating erratically. All that remained was a lone strained obelisk showing signs of waning power by it's faint and flickering purple light...
Cancel my second action. It's solely the precombat main phase.
Cyouni brings the flaming sword back to a ready position at his side, then turns to look up at Aggron at the top of the obelisk. "Whatever you wanted to do, do it now!"
<It doesn't matter if we close off this portal. Lou will just raise another hell-army and force his way back>.
Aggron already knows his decision. He knew it as soon as he knew this portal went to Grixis.
<There's only one real way to stop him. He'll be a menace to all Dominaria if we don't finish him.>
Aggron's muscles are tensing. He's been waiting for this since he learned about his feral side.
<Sorry, Gully, but I have to do this before I help you into the Golgari. This is bigger than both of us. Plus I have some unfinished business at home.>
Aggron's summons stream behind him; he turns to face the portal.
'll do what I can from the other side. I'll make sure it gets closed there too, and I'll hunt that bastard down and finish him, if I have to chase him over all five shards to do it. I've gotten back without a portal once; I can do it again.>
Aggron's vision goes white as he is blinded stepping through the portal. Immediately he knows something is very wrong. He felt the pull that was to be expected with traveling to another plane, yet this pull was not in one direction. Rather he felt the portal trying to pull him in two opposite directions racking him with pain. He had to decide soon, which pull would he follow...?
Give me a four sided roll to find out which direction Aggron is pulled.
Instincts kicked in as Aggron's mana formed into a protective bubble pushing him in only one direction. Within moments Aggron felt the pressure of the portal leave as he was thrown out...
Aggron moves over to another quest leaving Gully and Cyouni alone.
-----
Cyouni and Gully found themselves alone as the portal flickered faintly growing translucent, the fourth obelisk seemed to be losing all of it's power trying to maintain a tenuous connection. One where the horde appeared to no longer be capable of traveling through the portal.
Gully she yells as Aggron passes through the Portal. She stretches her hand out towards the portal as he vanishes from sight. She drops to her knees as she realizes that he is gone; her beetles return to her side and stand ready to defend her. As Cyouni destroys the last obelisk she watches the portal.
The last obelisk crumbled causing the portal to wink out of existence leaving the two mages alone in darkness by a ziggurat littered with corpses from a foreign plane that had decided to invade...
Gully, bathed in the glow of the stones in her gloves, lets out a sigh.
Its over...But, for how long?
She says to herself. She lets all, but the slightest bit of her Mana go, so that her gloves stay lit and stands. She looks to Cyouni with tired, but focused eyes.
Lou is gone...Aggron is gone...This is done.
She says as she moves towards him.
..And so am I..
She added in her head.
The Boros Clerk who sent me and Aggron down here will be waiting. Lets go and tell him what happened, so we can get some rest.
The flaming sword's tip dips until it touches the ground. Cyouni releases his mana, letting the avatar fade away.
The blade's flame returns to a bright orange.
"Yeah," Cyouni responds. "Let's get going." Despite saying that, he remains still at the remains of the last obelisk.
Cyouni follows Gully, his steps steady but devoid of energy. His mind slightly detached from the journey at hand, Cyouni absently notes that it's the same route he and Lou had followed.
Gully and Cyouni find their way through the sewers with ease and are soon met by the Boros clerk who looks past Cyouni expectantly before asking Gully with concern, "Where is your companion and who is this?"
Upon speaking Aggron's name she lowers her head, she seems lost in thought for a moment, but quickly breaks free. Shaking her head she looks to the Clerk again.
Aggron. He followed Lou, a demon from another Plane, into a Portal. Lou was the one causing the problems, and he was trying to make it look as though Rakdos was involved. Cyouni, Aggron and I closed the Portal. I don't know if either Lou or Aggron are alive, or for that matter where they are.
The clerk's face furrows in emotional pain at what he perceives to be a noble sacrifice on the part of Aggron saying, "If you were able to prevent the demon's plans then his sacrifice was not in vain..."
The clerk continued to think about the loss of Aggron as he looked over Gully's shoulder down into the sewers, he had the faintest illusion that maybe just maybe the lizard would come back out...
The clerk thought for a moment before hesitantly telling the 9 year-old, "We should return to the Sunhome fortress and report what has happened here."
The clerk turned to Cyouni saying, "I'm sorry to ask this of you Cyouni, but I will need you to come with us as you are a witness to what happened below the city."
<Let's hurry. And don't break all the obelisks just yet.> Swiftly and with brutal precision, Aggron begins slaying zombies at a furious pace.

Cyouni brings the flaming sword back to a ready position at his side, then turns to look up at Aggron at the top of the obelisk. "Whatever you wanted to do, do it now!"
She says as she watches the Portal flare up.
Aggron stares into the portal for a moment.

Aggron waves, and steps into the portal.

Cyouni and Gully found themselves alone as the portal flickered faintly growing translucent, the fourth obelisk seemed to be losing all of it's power trying to maintain a tenuous connection. One where the horde appeared to no longer be capable of traveling through the portal.
Why? Why did he do that?
...Damn it. It's my fault. The portal was created with my mana.
His steps slow, Cyouni walks to the last remaining obelisk, the spirit trailing behind him.
But I will not allow this portal of mine to claim any more victims.
The scythe and the sword are brought up in one fluid motion.
Time to clean up the mess I made.
The weapons swing down, destroying the last obelisk.
Spend one spell to move all from Obelisk 2 to Obelisk 3, attack Obelisk 3 with Avatar of Woe.
What?! WAIT!!
Gully she yells as Aggron passes through the Portal. She stretches her hand out towards the portal as he vanishes from sight.
