Enrich tossed the report in front of Lilium saying, "What do you have to say for yourself?"
Lilium took up the report and began reading. When she reached the part where Cyouni had described a planar invasion of Grixis zombies her eyes went wide. She dropped the parchment and looked from Cyouni to Enrich worriedly asking, "Did you stop them!?"
Enrich simply gestured to the report with his hand saying, "Finish reading."
Lilium nodded as she took the report back up and continued her read. When she was done she found that Enrich was staring holes into her from across the table. He grated his teeth saying, "Mind telling me how you came upon your first piece of intel and how you just happened to not find out about this invasion happening at the heart of our city!?"
"I swear my order only knew of the invasion happening in Urborg. We don't have agents to watch this side of the plane!" pleaded Lilium as she looked around the room for support.
Enrich let out a long drawn out sigh of exhaustion and stared at the portion of map with Urborg and the markers there. Then looking up from the map, Enrich fixed Cyouni with his gaze and said, "You were found at the portal with the Demon. Why were you in his company?"
Cyouni's already gotten an answer prepared, knowing he would be asked that question. He takes a quick pause to gather his thoughts, and then, not shirking away from the commander's gaze, replies, "It's quite simple. I first encountered this demon a while back, while on a mission for Lord Crovax of House Benalia. On that occasion, it broke free of its seal and possessed the body of one of my teammates, escaping before we could catch it. I've been hunting it ever since."
Enrich nods and then turns to Lilium saying, "This side of the plane, eh?"
Lilium is caught off guard by the attention being brought back to her and trips over her first few words saying, "Uh, well, my order... We're not from Dominaria. We used to follow an ancient walker over a millennium ago. In time our order fell under the rule of Sharuum, ruler of Esper. We come from a plane broken into five shards. Few of the inhabitants realize this, all of them think their shard is a whole plane. This is not true, each shard is missing two key colors of mana. Recent events concerning my home plane of Alara have brought invasion plans to our attention. Some force in Grixis is driving the horde of undead into a frenzy, preparing them to spill out into every plane spreading their plague of un-death."
Enrich nodded as he took in all Lilium was saying, Jacob for his part was scribbling furiously behind Cyouni trying to keep a record of the conversation.
Enrich then looked Lilium in the eyes asking, "Are you a walker yourself then?"
"No, I am not. I am merely a messenger." replied Lilium.
Enrich pressed her, further questioning, "How did you come to our plane then?"
Lilium struggled to answer but finally relaxed deciding on full disclosure saying, "Through an ancient Portal Array set up by our original master. It's located in some ruins found in a place I believe you call Fors Basin."
Enrich reacted to the name saying, "That's where our rogue angel went..."
"Rogue!?" questioned Lilium. "He moves against us even here!"
"Who?"
"The dragon walker, the being behind Grixis' activity." replied Lilium in an exhausted tone. "I was only able to leave a lone sentinel behind, it will be no match for an angel let alone one under the control of the dragon walker. We have to secure the array!"
Enrich frowned and contemplated his options. Finally he sighed looking to Gully and Cyouni saying, "I'm sorry you two, but it looks as though we will be in need of your services again. I have a few men who can accompany you and Lilium. I wish I could send more support but our forces are spread thin as is what with the Urborg invasion, and having to hunt down the Rakdos maniacs trying to sacrifice this city. This of course assumes you will accept the mission."
Never! Joking of course. You don't have to follow through on this follow up quest. You could excuse yourself to let your character rest and train.
I'm also assuming you were wanting Cyouni to join an actual Guild right? If it was a matter of gaining the second color we could always wrap a personal quest into another allowing Cyouni to learn as he goes. Send me a PM with what you were wanting to do training wise, let's see if we can figure something out.
I wish I could, but it'd go against character. He knows that the portal's pretty much his fault, and he wouldn't be the type to leave that problem sitting around. He'd be just as screwed as anyone else if something goes wrong in Estark. Think of it sort of as a survival thing.
"Thank you, both of you." He looks them over for a second before saying, "I'll need a night to figure out the logistics of this next mission. Return in the dawn to escort Lilium to the site, after you've had a chance to rest. You are free to stay in the Sunhome tonight unless you wish to retire elsewhere for the evening."
Enrich reaches under his side of the table and lifts a locked chest onto the table setting it down softly. Working the lock he pops it open and pulls out two bundles of gold coins. He tosses one to Cyouni and the other to Gully.
He smiles saying, "You've earned that reward. Now rest well tonight, for tomorrow we work!"
Jacob then ushered the two out of the room leaving Enrich to speak with Lilium. Jacob then guided them down to the third floor of the Sunhome showing the two to guest quarters that they could make use of. Saying his farewells he left the two alone.
Each bundle contains 150 gold coins. I award Cyouni 11 experience for: time on quest, battles, quest objectives, character objective, and role-playing. I award Gully 8 experience for: time on quest, battles, quest objective, and role-playing.
Closing thread return to the Boros Sunhome guild hall to pick up the next part of the quest. Since both of you are WPLs you'll be able to post any further role playing in this thread or you can continue in the Sunhome thread in Ravnica.

Ah, half-truths. How I love them.

Will I ever get enough time to get access to a second colour?
