It's useless, you're in no condition to fight.
Gathering shadows around him once again, he calls forth another specter.
He turns to the man with the blade and sees him clearly for the first time. That's an unusual mask.. He's nearly dead. He won't be preying on anyone in his state.

The swordsman was about to ignore Faust's guidance and charge again. That was until Falin grinned wildly summoning a fifth island and tapping into it's power to conjure a strange floating fish.
The swordsman turned Faust pleading, "Help me kill this monster! He's already killed five along this road!"
Falin cackled with glee saying, "You'll be my sixth!"
The barely standing Falin seemed to have forgotten about Faust and was completely focused on the swordsman...
Faust realises there is no use trying to talk to this madman. You will not kill any longer.
Quickly, while the mage's attention is on the swordsman, he sends his winged demons to finish him off, letting them feed to their heart's delight.
Falin strikes out violently with his creature to kill at least one of the specters. However his wounds are heavy as Faust's second creature strikes him down.
As Falin falls to his knees, blood burbling out of his mouth, he utters one last sentence, "My... bount-"
A cough and splatter of blood cuts his final words short as he lands, his chest thumping the ground hard and his glazed eyes looking at the silver masked swordsman.
The swordsman didn't even give Falin another look as he sheathed his blade and approached Faust while removing his mask saying, "Thank you for the help. The mad man would surely have killed me like he had the others had you not come along."
Faust averts his eyes from the mage's corpse. Even though he knows the man's death will save many lives, he is still disturbed by it.
He turns to the swordsman, who doesn't seem fazed at all by what had happened. Just glad I was here in time, although it looked like you were fine on your own.
Dismissing his creatures and ties to the swamps, he asks, So whats your story?
"Freelance merc traveling from Estark to Ravnica. I saw this man slay five other travelers without provocation. They roughed him up but I wasn't sure I could take him at the time. I decided I would follow this mage so I could report him to the authorities in Ravnica, let the Boros deal with him. Unfortunately my horse made a loud noise giving away my position and forcing me into a fight with the maniac." The man looked down at Falin's corpse and spat in it's direction before looking gratefully back to Faust saying, "It may have looked like I had the situation under control, but I'm fairly certain that beast he summoned would have done me in before I could finish him on my own. Thank you."
Faust nods his head at the mercenary. Was just in the right place at the right time.
He glances up at the sky, taking note of the growing darkness. He wonders if he can make it to Dars before it becomes too dark. I should get going.
The swordsman nods as he turns from Faust and bends down to search Falin's corpse. A gust of wind blows through the area sending a piece of parchment from Falin's satchel flying on the wind past Faust's face...
Give me a 20 sided roll if Faust tries to get a quick read of the parchment that is getting blown away.
All that Faust could catch before the wind carried the parchment away was a parchment looking similar to his bounty parchment that Jack had given him. There had been a picture of what Faust thought was a full face mask and the word bandit. He hadn't had time to read the rest...
Suspicion grabs a hold of Faust as he glances at the familiar looking parchment. That looks a lot like a bounty, like the one I have...and that picture...am I imagining things?
He doesn't know whether he's being paranoid, or if he should listen to his instincts, screaming at him of the masked swordsman's true identity.
Then a thought flashed into his head.
You know I've been thinking.
He says out loud, turning to look at the swordsman. I got told that a bandit was seen roaming these parts. I thought that that man,
he points at the mage's corpse was the bandit, but his victims still had all their belongings. Now I think differently.
He looks the swordsman, ransacking the corpse, straight in the eyes from under his hood. You have any ideas?
Faust makes a move to grab him, holding his Cross with his other hand to gather the power of the swamps around him. I need you to stop preying on these travellers.
"Oy, oy! This is the first traveler I've preyed on, and he deserved it. You heard him admit to those murders." barked the swordsman as he used his shoulder to push Faust off of him.
Empty your pockets.
He commands, continuing to stare at the man with cold eyes. He doesn't take his hand off his weapon but he doesn't draw on any more mana either.
Faust sighs. He had hoped that this could be resolved without any complications. Now it looks llike he'll have to do things the hard way.
He gathers mana once again, making a brief pact with outside forces before conjuring the familiar winged demon to life.
He instructs the creature to block the man's path to his horse. Give up everything that you've stolen.
I don't think that's the only thing you've stolen. There were plenty of people that that madman killed, each one ripe for pickings by an experienced bandit.
He conjures more swamp to existence, and another beast to join the first, in case the bandit tries to fight.

The swordsman spits angrily at Faust saying, "I think you're just another damn mage preying on those who are powerless against your art. You have his satchel and no proof that I've stolen anything else. Let me pass!"
Faust looks around for the piece of parchment he had seen. Just show me your pockets. If you haven't stolen anything then you have nothing to worry about.
Faust's eyes quickly caught sight of the parchment laying in the mud behind him. Then he heard the thundering of hooves as the swordsman took off towards Ravnica, using Faust's momentary inattention as a means to expand his lead...
