Xen opened his eyes and pulled out his journal noting Aramil's thoughts on mana. Xen then made a small notation referencing his theory on mana and casters. Then focusing on Aramil again Xen thought,
I appreciate you sharing your perspective on mana. My vision guide from the Selesnya conclave presented me with a skewed view of black mana and the swamps. Though that had been the point of the vision at the time. Hearing your view on the matter however is a great help as there is only so much a book can tell you.
Perhaps you still distrust me but know that my intentions are to create a harmony for our expedition. I will do what I must to push us ever forward.
You have seen my actions and my thoughts thanks to your gift. If you believe me distrustful still then I will defer to you in the best interest of our expedition. Do know however that you can count on me.
Heh, then again that comes back to you trusting me if the need ever arose.
Wynn is standing and waiting, and though her magic isn't strong enough to identify the mental conversation, her mind is sharp enough to know that *something* is going on.
"You two have something you want to share?"

Xen grins and replies, "Always, though I think that can wait for when Brigid is not waiting on us. Mainly I wonder if you have ever thought about your mana?"
I understand that you wanted a means to get in on the rp, so don't take this as me harping on you, Charm.
However, I want to note that Aramil sending his thoughts into a person's mind and listening to them think doesn't require mana and gives off no aura. Granted, one can easily see body language change, so it makes sense that someone could sense something happening that way.
However, there's no magical traces of the telepathy, so I ask that everyone remember that when dealing with Aramil's ability.
Aramil didn't miss a beat. When Wynn asked Xen and Aramil what was going on, Aramil turned and said, "Yes, I hope the elven maiden arrives soon, before the entire plane changes back and we've become none the wiser as to what is going on."
For what its worth I was acting on the noticing body language as opposed to being able to magically sense it. She just sees the two of you reacting to what seems to be no stimulus and put 2 and 2 together. Just because she didn't start a blue mage doesn't mean she doesn't have a good brain
Wynn more or less nods at Aramil before addressing Xen's question.
"It's certainly something to think about, yes...you are of the Selesnya Conclave, yes? I had considered joining them...however I feel I'm a better fit where I am currently, in the Azorius Senate."

"They don't. But the Senate isn't limited to making and enforcing the rules...actually, scratch that, that is all they do; but that doesn't mean every mage under their purview is a lawmaker or a jurist." Wynn explained. She had wondered about it herself at one point, but she was thankful that it worked out how it did. She was barely an adult by society's standards, and she didn't much envy the prospect of being cooped up in the doldrums of ennui that was the courthouse at Prahv. At least not now. Maybe after she'd had a long and fruitful adventuring career, she'd be more willing to settle down and resign herself to making and enforcing laws...but not right here or now.
"Anyway, I'm currently officially working as a member of the Azorius Second-Wing, a defensive unit protecting skyscribers. As for you...
You wield blue and black mana, correct? so it would seem you're without a guild..."

Aramil kept his eyes on Wynn, almost as if he was staring a hole through her.
"Interesting. I know little of the Azorius, but from what I have learned, they seem like a powerful group of people. I would like to know anything you can tell me about them."
"Ehh..." There was a feeling that was rubbing the junior senator the wrong way. She couldn't rightly explain it, but she couldn't shake the feeling that something about this wasn't on the level. So she tried the first thing she thought of: deflecting the question, maybe he just shuts up about it...
"I'm really not sure how much I'm officially allowed to say...and I'm sure most of what I could say is stuff you know already..."

"Right." Aramil said. "There are organizations in this world that value secrecy and hiding agendas. I happen to know the Senate isn't one of them. An individual judge may want their skeletons to remain in their closet, but it isn't a reflection of the whole.
So, tell me. What do you have to hide?"
Wynn could tell that with his last few words, Aramil had completely fixed his gaze upon her. His eyes refused to blink as he waited for her response.
When faced with this sort of thing, most trained senate mages would continue to clam up, cite NDA's or various laws as to why they couldn't say anything more on the subject. A veteran mage may even tell a tale so elaborate that even attempting to pierce the illusion of the laws they claim to be protected by falls under the purview of other laws, weaving together to create a web of bureaucratic standstill.
Wynn Aeros, however, is not like most Senate mages in that sense. She still has something that most other senators have long since discarded: a temper. And the combination of Aramil's ruthless questioning and piercing stare has made the girl's temper boil over into what would prove to be an explosive and incendiary diatribe. Her whole personality snapped, her eyes alight with flames of anger and her voice loud and particularly venomous.
"Are you that much of an idiot? Seriously, are you so stupid as to think that one, I would tell you what I know just to satisfy your idle curiosity when it's obvious that you've got something more up your sleeve; two, you think I'm dumb enough to not see that you're obviously trying to collect information from me to do God knows what; and three, even if the above two weren't true, that I would tell you anything remotely sensitive, seeing as you're supposedly the person who sent some crazy pyromaniac ***** to blow up another house for no damned reason whatsoever? Let me set the record straight. I don't trust you, and it's not just because you use black mana, don't think for a second that I'm going on some holier-than-thou rant, you've insulted my intelligence enough for one day thank you very much. I don't trust you because you insist on asking about things that not only are irrelevant, but go against everything logical and reasonable. I don't have anything to hide, except things that the very safety of me, my house, my guild, and any other number of potential targets you have lined up for that planeswalking whore of yours, depend on! So excuse me if I'm a bit hesitant to give you everything I know about them, if for no other reason than to try and stop you from using whatever military might you might have planned as the Arm of the Lord...I frankly don't give a damn. But you're not going to pump me for information like a damn criminal, I should be doing that to you. So shut the hell up, drop this now, and pray that when we get back I have the good graces to not have your sorry ass locked up until the end of the goddamned world. ARE WE CLEAR?"
Wynn's body was shaking after her tirade, partially numb from the surge of her fiery temper, and partially just winded after having another part of her deliver such a long speech. Her breaths were heavy and ragged, as she broke eye contact with the other mage and stormed away. She'd likely be back...but still pissed when and if she did...

Aramil stared laughing like crazy. Watching Wynn explode was like watching a pixie spontaneously combust.
He turned to Xen, and through great effort and few deep deep breaths, "You know, when you go to ask her about how she feels her mana, you may want to watch out. You'll need a great block of time and plenty of that delightful herb Selesnya use to ward off headaches."
He closed his eyes and shook his head while continuing. "Did it ever occur to you that, before you jumped into a juvenile tirade, that I simply wanted knowledge of the organization out of curiosity or a desire to seek their services? Really, you make your guildmates proud with your representation of them."
When he opened his eyes, however, all sense of jovial indifference had completely left Aramil's visage.
"I will tell you this, though, Azorius. I don't care if you trust me or not, you will show me respect. Threaten me again, and I will make you eat every single one of your words."
Then, Wynn would see and hear Aramil saying his next line, but it was almost as if someone had made a camp in the back of her skull and was screaming the exact same thing.
Wynn did her best to ignore Aramil as she was sulking away. She wanted nothing to do with him at the moment. But when she heard his voice echoing in her mind...that was over the line. She wheeled around, a metal staff in hand with a tapered point at the end that she was pointing at the other mage, using the crystal on the business end as a sword handle. Again her demeanor changed, gone was the fire and passion in her eyes, replaced with icy cold orbs that fixed their sights on the fool who had dared enter her mind. Supplanting her rage and anger was a sense of cold, calculating ruthlessness. She spoke again, this time with an edge in her tone, a sense of spreading darkness in her soft yet powerful voice.
"You will NOT do that again, unless you wish to be kept in a stasis cell for a few millenia, watching the world and everything you have ever known wither away and succumb to the ravages of time. There's more than enough evidence already for me to have you locked up, perhaps if I'm feeling benevolent I might even check up once or twice to see if your case is moving. Of course, there are always a few scum who fall through the cracks, ones who end up never getting their day in court, stuck in stasis for eternity..." She let that thought sink in for a second before proceeding.
"Respect is something that needs to be earned, and any thoughts of respect for you went out the window when you violated my mind. There is nothing I can give you, because there's nothing I trust you with.
If you wanted knowledge of services or what we do, you could have asked that. You would have asked that. If you had a rational question, I would have responded. But you were just looking for information and you thought I would be an easy mark. That tells me you're up to no good, and whatever half-cocked plan you had in mind best stop now before you get yourself killed, or worse. And let me make this clear: If you threaten me again, I swear to god I will rain down unholy hell until you wish you had never been born." There's a small smirk on her face, as if daring him to call the girl's supposed bluff...along with making him wonder if she'd actually do it. Which was imminently possible.

Xen immediately stood up and strode between the two raising his hands, one pointed to each of them, in a cautioning manner saying, "Still your tempers! I'm not entirely sure why you two are at each other's throats after only a few words. What ever the reason it needs to stop."
Looking at Aramil, Xen stated flatly, "You pushed her for information that she simply was uncomfortable giving to you. Most likely because she harbors distrust for your actions against Lat-Nam. You would do well to learn patience and when to let issues lie."
Xen's gaze shifted to Wynn as he spoke in a brotherly tone that was supposed to come across as understanding saying, "There's no need for that weapon here. Remember you're here to help Brigid investigate Lorwyn. I don't know what your history with Aramil is. But he seems to have pushed you past your comfort zone. Know that he has been given a second chance by all of the House leaders of Estark. Let him at least try and earn a new reputation and prove that he is reformed. If you treat him like scum and expect him to react like scum then he will more than likely become scum again. If however you give him just one chance, then you have opened the possibility for him to truly change."
Looking from one to the other Xen assures them, "As for respect, that must be earned by both of you."
Locking his gaze on Aramil, Xen said, "Respect is not something that can be demanded. Demanding respect more often than not incites fear and scorning from those you try to gain it from."
Shifting his gaze to Wynn and locking his eyes with her Xen said, "Nor can respect be gained through hot headed actions and a complete lack of patience. How can you hope for respect from him if your first instinct is to distrust him and treat him like scum?"
Then slowly lowering his arms with his palms pushing downward, as if he were trying to push their tempers down, Xen said, "Now please, calm yourselves and talk this out civilly."
I want to make something perfectly clear here, she didn't hear Aramil's voice. I said she hear "a" voice, not "his" voice.
He may be ballsy, but Aramil isn't stupid.
"That bratty little *****!"
Aramil had to hold himself back. Granted, he did well enough, his face showed no emotion as he battled and rebuffed his internal rage.
"I want to cut that venomous tongue out of her head and then wipe her mind of the last five years of her existence!"
Aramil took a deep breath in...
"Wait. My master warned me about this. I have to learn to control myself or I'll be back where I was in Talltrees."
...then let it out in a long exhale. His rage died down to nothing inside him.
"Look, Wynn, that didn't go the way I had planned it. Honestly, I simply was curious about the Azorius because I heard they have work for people with my set of...abilities. Now, as far as me being in your head, I promise, I didn't enter your head. Granted, I have heard of unintentional breaches when a telepath is under extreme duress, but I assure you, I did not just enter your mind intentionally, and I will not endeavor to do so again. I apologize."
Wynn was more shocked at the fact that someone was in her mind and assumed it to be aramil. in the heat of the moment it's not unreasonable.
Wynn took a step back and lowered her weapon, willing its form back to that of a ring. She was breathing heavily, trying to make sense of it all. That wasn't her, that launched that tirade and threatened an eternity of torture on the mage. She would need to figure out how to keep those emotions in check. But that would take time. Right now, they had to work as one, as hard as that may be.
"I apologize as well. I was out of line, it's just that sometimes my emotions can...get the better of me. And I know all too well what magic can do when its caster is put under pressure, it's nearly impossible to predict." She let out a long, weary breath that defied her young age, and continued.
"For the record, I still don't trust you. What you did was a blatantly wrong act, and I'm not sure I can forgive you for it. I will, however, give you the benefit of doubt here. Your actions here will affect what I think of you, not your words. You say you're not the person who blew up House Lat-Nam? We shall see, and after this...I'll revisit what I think of you. Does that seem reasonable to you?"

"By all means, the mistrust is mutual. Still, if we can both back up our threats, we will be a considerable force to be reckoned with in Lorwyn. That is, provided we can find some means of working together rather than against each other."
Aramil turned to Brigid and said, "Now, I hate to say this, but it appears Deraxas won't be making it. Can we proceed?"
Krensae stood off to the side and minded his own business during the whole exchange.Mental notes made..."Standing around is not fixing the place, and the longer we wait perhaps the more permanent it becomes." He turns his gaze over to Brigid.

Xen looks to the others and points out, "The wait is unfortunate but could be more than worth the time lost. Deraxas is from Lorwyn and will be of great help in navigating and potentially discerning changes between what she remembers and this dark version. Perhaps she was merely held up by an unforeseeable encounter. Regardless I think we can spare enough time to wait but for a few more minutes."
Krensae responds mildly, "Brigid would know more recent information about Lorwyn. And I know peoples we can talk to myself. We can keep extending the time, but where will you draw the line?"
