He checks his clothing for dried blood and tears then digs through his satchel to see if his house marker, his spells, Tilia's Mirror, and the twisted dagger are all inside, as well as if his collection of gold and festival certificate and voucher had gone missing. "I suppose you get a lot of people coming through here." He says to Jenassi, trying to make conversation as he rifles through his things. "So, tell me the truth. In how bad of shape was I in? Comparatively I mean."
Roger frowned at her, then lifted his head up with a more serious expression. "It must not have been that bad, after all you did say "I Nearly blew it," which means you must have fixed the problem before it took a turn for the worse, and you are still working here, which surely must mean something." He was smiling at her now. Roger took a bag of gold from his bag and dumped its contents into another, then he grabbed his spell gems and put them inside of the now empty gold bag. He then lowered the satchel to the floor. He is still holding onto the gem-filled gold bag, however.
"Ah, well if that's the case you're not entirely at fault. Wait a moment, was this the match with the lizard man? I was watching that match. The way he was moving I thought he was going to pull out a last minute trick to win it too." He stopped to look at her again, she seemed to be zoning out. "Hey, don't beat yourself up about this. Anybody would have made this mistake."
She blushes at his words, hanging her head. "Yeah, I know. He..." she looks like she wants to say something, but she doesn't want to betray a trust. She settles for something else truthful. "He's okay. It's alright."
Roger reached out to her and lifted her head up gently. "Well, it's good he's alright." He told her once she was looking at him again. Then, to dodge the subject he said, "Don't dwell on the past so much. After all, you have a patient lying right in front of you who needs your full attention." Roger spoke with a childish grin on his face.
Roger returned his hand to his side. "Well, I can only assume I'm doing much better. I can still feel a little pain in my abdomen, otherwise I feel fine." He shifted himself in the bed to see how painful it would really be.
"Well, I don't think I'll be going anywhere for a while. I get the feeling that I'll find myself passed out on the floor if I try to stand up." He stopped fidgeting in the bed. "How long do you suppose I'll be in here?"
"Probably a day to be best," she looks at Roger. "I know people like you. If you want to, you could probably leave now. I can't stop you. I wouldn't suggest it, of course, but people never listen to medics."
Roger looks hurt by that remark. "That is not true, I always listen!" He paused for a moment to see if she believed him. Nope. "I really do, but listening and acting are different things. I guess I'm glad you could see through me, it makes it easier to leave. If you have anything you'd like to give to me before I depart I would appreciate it."
She smiles at the comment on listening and acting. She hands him a potion. "This is a pain relief potion. Helps reduce swelling. It more helps accelerate natural healing than directly heals. Take that tomorrow morning, you should feel better."
"Thank you, Janassi, you've been too kind." Roger slid out of bed to a standing position. "Now, as to how I escaped you're watchful eye..." He grabbed his clock, and put it on in a flourish. Then put the potion and his spell bag into his satchel. "I have a little trick for that." With those words Roger concentrated on what little darkness there was in the room, his cloak helped provide much of what he needed. "Now you see me," He pulled the cloak of shadows to his body. "Now you don't." I sure hope this works...
"Goodbye Janassi, and thank you." With that Roger began his escape from the arena hospital.
Roger continued toward the exit, wanting to put as much distance between himself and the Colosseum as possible.
As he left his mind began to wander. I wonder what has befallen my old guild... Perhaps the miss I caused is putting them in too much strain to care about me...
Roger felt that there were better ways to contact him than morbid things like this. He channeled a bit of black mana into the hand, hoping it would shrivel and die.
After a few twists and turns, Roger finds himself in a different arena. The Ogre is here, meditating, surrounded by a ring of burning bodies. The lit corpses turn the area a blood red.

"I've seen worse..." she says. "I nearly blew it on a worse case," she says, and blushes.

She seems to be absorbed in the memory, so she doesn't see what he's doing.

At the mana, it lets go and starts to scurry off down a side alley.
Roger followed the scurrying hand into the alleyway. He supposed that he best get this over with.
