Cyouni sighs. "It'll take a while at that rate." He gestures, and each of the goblins grow visibly stronger. The glow on his hand fades. "Thanks for the information."
And yes, no incantatrix for you. Or anyone. That class makes puppies cry. Mostly because they are the former Big Bads who have been Baleful Polymorphed into said puppies. By you. Because you're an incantatrix.

I suppose it's true. Though the logistics implied in a human/Great Wyrm Prismatic Dragon pairing makes me shudder.
...Something tells me that even should all arcane casters in the world unite, that the Grease spell would NOT be sufficient.
"Some reward," Kennar grumbles; "Someone is having a laugh at our expense right now. The 'reward' he gives us is to warn us away from the exact place we're trying to get to. Oh well. I guess one good deed doesn't deserve another after all."
Kennar follows Cyouni, secretly not caring much about not getting a reward. But he's got an image to maintain, dammit.
Everything scares me... kitties scare me... squirrels scare me... corpses....corpses bring forth a pletora of confusing feeling which i prefer not to dwell on...:p
Cyouni hears the familiar voice of Lou taunting in his head saying,
Ugh. That sentimentality will get you killed one of these days. You're weaker for your actions. What are you going to do if a mage challenges you!? Those were powerful enchantments you wasted! Would have been far more profitable to provoke the dwarf into attacking you. At least then you would have gained his wealth for the same loss in power.
OOC: Lou just gets everywhere. Like the satchel I sent to you, Murphy? My turn to use it.
Cyouni snorts, but only in his mind. If I had provoked him into attacking me, I'd have lost even more power, leaving me unprepared for that curse ahead. Besides, I've managed without those enchantments before.
Cyouni can hear Lou laughing in his head as the reply came,
One can always rest and restore their power before continuing. You've made the mistake several times of over exerting yourself. I will not have my pet bearing my gifts fall to a weakling again. These small 'sacrifices' could be the difference between victory and defeat.
Besides, if you wanted the more diplomatic path then you should have put the dwarf in your debt. Or at the very least made him think he was deeply in your debt.
Perhaps the problem is in the company you are keeping. This fire elemental you are traveling with is unusually... Civilized. At least for being a fire mage and elemental...
He'll feel a debt for us "repairing" the wagon. Especially since he'll now get to Estark faster. Cyouni's mind-tone is slightly unbalanced, almost as if he's forcing the response.
OOC: As I said, if you ever want it for a NPC, be my guest.
Kennar looks over at Cyouni. "You look like you're walking through fog," he says "Part distracted and part blind."
"We never properly introduced ourselves besides names," Kennar says, sizing up Cyouni. "And since we'll be working together, we should probably at least know each others' fighting styles. Might save someone's life. Fire and lightning are my favored weapons. Which makes sense for a Flamekin, I suppose."
Everything scares me... kitties scare me... squirrels scare me... corpses....corpses bring forth a pletora of confusing feeling which i prefer not to dwell on...:p

Kennar suddenly looks very interestedly at Cyouni. "Death magic," he says, a hint of excitment in his voice. "I've seen it before. I almost got a chance to study it, but..." his voice trails off, and he gets a very dark look on his face. "Nevermind. But it is very interesting to be working with someone who uses black mana instead of fighting against them."
Kennar glances around, but he's not really paying attention. Talking about black mana has dredged up the memories of Oreo slaughtering that woman. He goes silent, the scene replaying again and again in his head.

Kheira nods and bites her lip, asking for its location, and swiftly moving away from this creepy girl--wondering why on this plane Kennar would trust her. She exits the city and departs, summoning a drake to fly ahead, scanning the road for Kennar.
