"I... never had a father. My mother was a dryad, like myself... that's the mystery of our race, and not for me to know until I am older."
She offers the basket to Gully.
"I have seen a man that matches that description pass through here, though it was a long while ago. He was kind to my mother and myself, and said that he had to go... " She stops, trying to remember.

Gully takes another piece of fruit from the basket, drops it into her satchel and follows Aesha. Along the way she looks at the forest around her in wonder.
"I do not take credit for what was lent to me by Gaea, nor for her works." Aesha says both gently and reprovingly, though her tone is quite kind.
"The world... it is not ours. It is given to us but for a moment, and it is our task to take care of what She has lent us, so that the next generation might use it as we have- in wisdom and in honor of the Cycle."

Gully listens closely to Aesha's words as they continue through the forest. She becomes quite for a moment as she mulls over what the Dryad has said in her head.
"Yes. As all things are born, all must die. Those that die are reformed into new life, absorbed by new growth...and it continues. That is the way of nature, child- you cannot fear death, for it is something that one must accustom oneself to."
Aesha raises a greenish eyebrow.
"Such heavy conversation for a child...even one who is a child of Gaea. What of your younger pursuits?"
The area thins out a little- the trees are less densely packed, and ahead lies a long stretch of plains, studded with brush and grasses.
"I cannot go much further- a dryad must remain near her tree, for my life and its life are bound. Go across this plain, over the river, and the forest you seek will be in sight."

I know the Cycle. I know what must happen for life to continue. I don't fear Death, for it is Life's equal.
Gully says in a manner that is more so to her own self then to Aesha. She lets out a heavy sigh before speaking again.
And do not think of me as just a child, for I am more then that. I am a Predator, trained by Gaea's Laws; the law of survival of the strongest. I do want to thank you again for your help and I hope that next time that I see you that it will be from beside my father as we make our way back to Estark.

As the glow dissipates, Gully watches Aesha head back down the path. She lingers there for a moment, continuing to think about Aesha's words of wisdom.

She leads Gully to the ash she was told about, and beneath it lies a basket half-filled with fruit.

Thank you for the food and the information. Do you know where he meant by the heart of the storm?
Aesha smiles.
"You are a strange one... face and form of a little girl, but you've the heart of a lion!"
She takes a piece of the fruit and bites into it idly.
"When you are refreshed, then I will show you the path. It might be dangerous."

Ready.
She stands and stretches.
"Come this way. I cannot go too far from my tree, but I can at least travel a short distance."
Aesha begins heading northwest.

It's about noon, though, and it promises to be a LOT warmer out here, in the open plains, than it is under the shade of the forest.
It's all normal until a voice shouts, "Stop, you. This area is the territory of the Order."
Two heavily armed and armored knights point lances at Gully. It appears that despite the clank of armor, she didn't hear them coming.
