This time several judges and healers were waiting around the circle for the fighters to report in. All of them were there just in case things got out of hand...
OOG: Report in and give an initiative roll. High roll goes first.
"Seems there's more healers this time around - did I make a bad impression last match?" Xin called out, laughing a little. Seeing his opponent already at the other side of the circle, he walked over the line signaling the edge of the circle and took his rightful place inside the arena. "You ready?" he said to his opponent, cracking his knuckles.
OOC: Yeah, but last I knew you were, what? A black mage? You can afford to go second a lot easier than I can
Xin smiled, clenching his right fist as a light red aura began to ripple around him. "Hope you don't mind me starting this off, then, eh...?" Briefly, his hand flashed and sparked, and then a small ball of lightning jumped from his palm, darting across the floor as it made a beeline for his opponent.
OOC: I wanted a blocker...However, you're quite right about how overpowered Spark Elemental is. That's why...
Taking the shock from the elemental, Cyouni smiles grimly. "I won't be hit by that again." His left hand glowing with dark power, he flings it towards Xin, scouring the elemental from his mind.
(OOC: Speaking of overpowered, Extirpate + limited beginner's satchel = sad panda. Satchel PM sent.)
Xin's teeth gritted as he felt a sharp pain run through his mind, and then it was gone - along with some of his memories.
'I can't afford to get hit by that again,' he thought to himself, taking a step forward as he summoned a tall, ornamented flagpole adorned with a banner of flames.
"Your move. Let's see what other cheap tricks you got up your sleeve, friend."
Xin's face was impassive as he raised a hand towards the center of the arena. His aura flared briefly, then flickered as a lone warrior erupted from the ground, debris scattering.
(OOC: Thanks for remembering about the Marauders' damage; I was just jumping back online before dinner to put that in, but you already took care of that. )
Xin gritted his teeth in annoyance. His solutions to this problem were dwindling fast; he needed a way out of this, and quick.
Summoning more mana from the air around him, he raised his hands to summon another warrior to replace the first. Again, debris scattered every which way, the brunt of it flying towards his opponent.
(OOC: I may have a second main if you decide to let it resolve. I'm playing around a second Extirpate, so I'm obliged to give you the option to respond.)
OOC: Go ahead. I might not even have one...For my part, I'm playing around the Encampment. I'm taking no chances. Even without a second one, the lowest you can take me down to is 3 if I don't get hit by a creature.
Regardless, I will not play another Extirpate this match.
(OOC: The attack will go through; I leave it to you to decide if you'll pump or not. Also, you now have 2 Terrors in your graveyard, not one. Will that be all after your attack?)
Xin shrugs off the bat, swatting it away as it flies home back to its master. Raising his right hand, he summons a second flag next to the first, its banner aflame with red and orange colors.
Still formulating his plan for getting out of this mess, he summons a third warrior to take the place of the other two, ignoring the debris as it falls at his feet.
Taking a deep breath, Xin cracked his knuckles. His face remained impassive, hiding his irritation as he tried to focus on how to get out of this predicament.
A third flagpole joined the first two, flames blazing with red hot fury, but other than that, Xin could do nothing, knowing his opponent had answers to anything he had right now.
That bat had to go, however. Reaching into some of his reserves, he gripped his right hand into a tight fist. Flames roared over the battlefield as a wave of fury engulfed the bat. Even with bestowed strength, it had no chance.
Shrugging his shoulders, Cyouni summons another bat. Reaching into his satchel, he pulls out a gem. As he focuses on it, it expands into a silvery cloak.
Xin growled. The man's words spoke true, and every spell his opponent cast was another nail in his coffin. There wasn't much time left, if there was any at all.
"Maybe not, but I'm not throwing in the towel just yet," he called back to his opponent, his face grim.
A fourth and final flagpole shot up from the ground near the first three, forming a straight line of banners between Xin and his opponent.
Xin heaved a sigh. He had almost nothing left; his spells were almost empty thanks to that trick his opponent played on him earlier. "Looks like it's your move."
Cyouni simply shakes his head, almost as if in regret. "Fine."
Calling more mana to himself, he adds a dark blessing to the bat. With a surge of mana, the cloak settles onto the bat. With a motion of his hand, Cyouni sends it to attack. On the way, its fangs seem to grow sharper.
Xin bit his lip to keep from exclaiming as the fangs bit deep into his arm, but he could do nothing aside from shake off the bat and turn back to his opponent.
"This battle is pointless, now; what spells I have left can't kill you, and all you're doing is toying with me because you know you have this match in the bag."
Xin glared at his opponent. "I hate conceding, but I hate being jerked around more. Enough games; take your win and be done with it."
Without another word, he slid his knife into the inside of his shoe, pulled his cloak around himself more, dismissed the ties to his mana, and walked out of the circle, not even waiting for the judge to call the win in his opponent's favor.
What was the point, anyways? He had better ways to spend his time; finding a way to earn some money was top on his list, now.
(OOC: Conceding just seems to make sense at this point. With OOC knowledge on what your satchel is, I can't get through your removal. Might as well concede now and see about getting into a quest or something. Good luck )
OOG: Report in and give an initiative roll. High roll goes first.
OOC: What is it with my dice luck in the tournament? Eighty-five percent chance of losing...
