This time several judges and healers were waiting around the circle for the fighters to report in. All of them were there just in case things got out of hand...
OOG: Report in and give an initiative roll. High roll goes first.
Tilia shrugs seeing all the healers, she smiles, this may be more fun than she had initially anticipated. She looks at her opponent, for the first real good time, she wrinkles her nose and says "Just what sort of beast are you?" With that she prepares for the battle ahead.

Aggron looks hard at the vampire. 'm hardly just a beast anymore. I have plenty of mind, thank you.> Then he notices her expression. <Oh, I do apologize for the smell though. I found an undead mage wandering around the city, and I wanted to help get him integrated into Estark. His body wasn't in very good condition, so...> Aggron shrugged.
Tilia nodded, then smiled as she drew her weapon followed by an orb of dark energy that started floating around her head. She then indicated for her opponent to go ahead with his turn.

Hmmm, she uses the same power-drawing system as I do. First other mage I've seen that way. Aggron draws on his own dark orb, but he crafts its energy into his usual zombie goblin.
OOC: I am not actually 100% sure on whether one has to officially draw their weapon to block with it... though in your characters case I doubt it considering his weapon is his tail...
IC: Tilia simply smiles at the sight of the Goblin, she herself has summoned such a creature in the past, though she is entirely glad those days are over. She draws more of her dark energy into an orb. With this orb, she calls on a small bat, to defend her with. She then indicates for her opponent to take his turn.
The sight of the bat triggers a memory, and Aggron suddenly recalls his first Arena battle. 've lost to those before,> he 'says', gesturing at the bat with his tail. <Hopefully I'll be able to do better this time.>
He gathers the energy from his two dark orbs. Under his hands, the energy spreads and thins to form a silvery statue.
"Interesting... I wonder though, have you ever lost to one of these?" Tilia asks as she summons another dark orb that takes flight around her head, she then focuses on two of the dark orbs as she creates a summoning circle in mid air, and from it comes a much larger, much more intelligent looking bat-like creature. She smiles and then indicates for her opponent to take his turn.
Aggron looks hard at the thrull for a moment, assessing it magically. <No, actually, and I'm not sure I care to,> he replies.
Drawing on his three orbs and his statue. Aggron gathers a large amount of raw mana into his hands. With large gestures, he summons a creature taller than himself, one that appears to float on air. As soon as the creature takes shape, however, it begins to emit a bone-chilling shriek. The thrull claps its wing-claws to its ears, then seems to explode as all its blood freezes and bursts its veins.
"That sounded like it came from house Lat-Nam..." Tilia says, her attention fading from the battle... then she suddenly realizes what had happened in her world, she looks mournfully at the ooze of the thrull. She then frowns "Well now, your going to have to pay for that." Tilia says. She draws some more mana to herself and then calls a very familiar thrull to the field of battle. She then blesses it with 2 dark blessings, increasing its size and power substantially, making it invulnerable to a keening bansher in the way the previous one was. She then indicates for her opponent to take his turn.
Aggron grinned at the sight of the buffed-up thrull. <That's the same trick I first lost to, actually. I think I can do one better now, though.> Aggron gathers his mana once more and forms another, smaller shape. When he finishes, his fist is curled around a sword hilt. In another burst of mana, he tosses the weapon to his goblin, and with surprising agility, the creature grabs it out of the air.

Tilia frowns at the oncoming attack, as she does it lands its blow. "I am going to have to keep that in mind for my future moves." Tilia says. Though she doesn't seem to phased or concerned by this new development. What could be up that causes her to seem so confident it must be wondered.
OOC: going to wait on you to confirm it is my go...

Tilia grins very broadly... then says "You know, you can concede now if you wish." As she draws more mana to herself. She draws the energy from all but one of her orbs of mana into a small concentrated packet of dark energy. She then hurls it straight at the Banshee under Aggron's control. As it flies it leaves a trace tendril touching her and connecting her to the Banshee whose soul suddenly blinks out of existence.
She then says "Go for it." and her thrull barrels forward attempting to smash into Aggron full force.

Aggron thought for a moment, then--
<Screw it. I don't think anyone left in the tournament can beat me. I might as well show off my new spell.>
He gathers mana to him, but instead of forming something with it, it gathers into his feet and in his tail. In a smooth motion, he shimmers through the air onto the thrull's back, then severs its neck and slides back to where he'd been standing. However, he also takes something from Tilia in the process...
<Still think you'll crush me so easily? Goblin, teach her a lesson!>
Played Assassinate on the thrull. While it was on the stack, ExtirpateConsume Spirit.
Then swing with the goblin. I may have after-combat. PM me your satchel too, please.
Tilia feeling her spells ripped from her mind, and seeing her creature become a glorified pile of mush, falls to a knee and screams at the top of her lungs "STOP!!! I concede. Your power is too much for this bracket of the tournament. How you even managed to enroll in this bracket without raising an alarm is beyond me."
EDIT & OOC: this issue is being discussed in the Magic: the RPG Welcome / Discussion thread. Simply put, I do not think this match was very fair, in fact I think this entire tournament was rigged in favor of Aggron due to his having a 500+ gold value of his satchel and near complete satchel point usage for his level. I am almost 90% sure that none of the other mages in this tournament were anywhere NEAR that. As such before he is declared the winner I request that this matter be thoroughly thought out.
Aggron smirks. <Just because you can't beat me, you think I'm too strong? Just keep telling yourself that, little vampire.> Aggron turns to the judge, wondering where to go next.
The judge simply walks over to Aggron and indicates him the victor while saying politely, "Please take up any concerns with the tournament organizers ma'am."
OOC: Aggron wins and receives .5 experience for defeating a mage of equal level.
