Len looks at the surface of the door, seeing if it would hold suction.
If he could even make suction, that is.
He also checks for any hinges on the door.
"I've got a few ideas..." Len says, "Depends on if we can get something with suction... or if we have something we can wedge in here," he points into the crack around the door.
"Hmmm..." muses Empty Square. "I may be able to use my sonic screwdriver on that crack. Not sure what would happen, though. It might make the crack bigger, it might get the door open, it might do nothing."
"Remember what I said before," says Empty Square. "It's all about sound waves. If this door were made of stone, I could crack it to pieces. That, however, is not the case. Since it's unclear just exactly how this door opens, it's anybody's guess as to what use the sonic screwdriver will have."
Nothing happens to the crack itself, though there is a creaking noise that comes from over the door. Then a loud snap is heard and the door sinks into the floor.

Never forget: there's always someone bigger, better and stronger than you.
Someone once asked me why, when I talk about House Dimir, I don't put the word "the" in front of it.
At the time, I had no answer, but it just came to me.
Do we put the word "the" in front of God?

When Empty Square pulls out the screwdriver, Len's eyes snap to it, watching him work. Something tells him he's seeing something remarkable, and an incredibly powerful artifact, but he can't determine what the heck it's doing.
Len looks up, searching for the source of the sound, then back down at the sinking door. "Looks like that came in handy after all."
Does it look like the door's moving aside and/or opening downwards?
OOC: I apologize, I wasn't clear. The door sank completely into the floor, leaving the doorway beyond open.
IC: Beyond the door is a short hallway. At the other end is a fluctuating orb of blue energy. The orb is still reverberating slightly with the effects of the sonic screwdriver.

"Nice. Empty Square 1, Door 0." Empty Square sees the orb at the end of the hallway. "Hey, Len, look at this," he says, pointing to the orb. "What do you make of it?"
"Hunh..." Len says, looking at the orb. "Not sure, exactly, but since we're looking for some kind of pocket plane, and we're looking for the fan's mark," he points at the marking, then points at the orb, "that looks promising."
He climbs through the door, then looks around, taking in the area.
The hallway beyond is short and relatively narrow. One of you could squeeze by the other, but it'd be a tight fit. The orb is at the far end, approximately twenty feet away. There's a fan symbol on each wall, flanking the orb.

As the pair get closer, the orb expands until the edge of it is just brushing Empty Square's skin. The orb retracts quickly and then a voice resounds through the hallway. "Welcome, wizards! Proceed and proceed with caution. There has been a breach."

OOC: Which means that Len was completely enveloped? Len was in front. EDIT: Editing in Len's reaction to the orb.
The blue energy washes over Len before he can stop himself. It feels... strange... not painful, but strange. He looks at his hands, and the swirls it leaves in the energy as they pass. "Wow..." he whispers.
After the orb retracts, and the mysterious voice sounds, Len looks at Empty Square. "Uh oh..."
OOC: Right. I needed it to touch both of you. If one's in front, that individual gets completely enveloped.

"I think this is the gateway to the plane we've been looking for," says Empty Square. "The energy from that orb made me feel a bit tingly. And that bit about a breach doesn't fill me with confidence." He draws a deep breath. "Well, let's not forget we're in a race with other Houses, so I think we should pass 'into the land of dreams and fantasies' as soon as possible." He looks at Len. "Are you ready?"
The orb feels semisolid and reacts to Empty Square's touch. It ripples out from his touch and then spirals open, revealing a long, blue hall and a door at the far end. The voice speaks again, just as the door opens. "Defenses have been activated, and they might target you as well. Be cautious."

Empty Square sighs. "Wonderful. Now we have to be on the lookout for death rays as well." He turns to Len and points to the door. "After you," he says, grinning.
"Well, at least it's honest," Len says with a half-smile, "Warning, you might be ambushed." Len starts down the corridor, and steps through the door. He's a little more confident, now that he's been 'warned.'
