The elf led them to the ring and pointed to the two neutral boxes saying, "Both of you start there and perform your rituals before entering the Arena Ring. This is only a practice match so death is strictly prohibited. Seeing as the two of you wish for a practice match there will be no bargaining of spells. Any questions?"

They love and hate to see me walk through the door. I'm the man with the box, one to carry all his Standard cards with him. I've got the commons and uncommons they need. But I've also got my decks. If I walk into FNM, I came to play. And they never know what I'm gonna pull out of my hat next. I may lose more than I win, but it just might be THIS deck that has all the answers that they don't have answers for. They fear the unknown. They fear me. And they never see me coming!
The elf turns his attention to Felpurr saying, "Here at the Arena we have several types of matches. First is the traditional match where both mages can agree to make it a single spell match. In a single spell match one spell is put up for ante from both mages. The victor lays claim to the spell put up for ante."
"Most traditional fights in the Arena however are done without the ante as the mages are seeking simple training and testing of their skills."
"The next type of match is called a death match. These are to the death with both mages signing an Azorious contract binding each other to the death waver. These matches tie your satchels to the contract allowing the opponent to lay claim to your satchel. Victory is won by killing your opponent. These matches almost never happen and require approval from Squee along with the Azorious contract."
"The last type of match is one that warriors partake in. It's a simple melee match akin to our traditional match."
"Something you both need to be aware of is that should we, the judges of the Arena, find that you have no more casting of spells available then we will call the match in favor of your opponent. This applies to the traditional match only."
"I see. Thank you very much for your explanation."
Felpurr turns to Aggron and grins.
"Did we get that contract signed yet for the death match?"
Felpurr laughs out loud.
"Are you ready?"

He summons one of his dark orbs; it looks more substantial in the sunlight than it had in the caverns. He draws on its energy to create one of the rotting goblins.

Aggron considers. <It's kind of messy sometimes, but I can't deny its effectiveness.>
He summons another orb, then bends the mana in a new way. It loses its darkness, gradually becoming metallic. <These new artifacts make it interesting, though.>
Played 1x Swamp, then tapped them both for the Guardian Idol

I have plans for Aggron and the Golgari, actually. He's not aware of them yet though.
Aggron feels the green magic, and is impressed. 's only weakness is its...inability to kill things.>
Aggron grins. <Which death-magic can do very efficiently. Sorry, but tha mana-elf has to go.> Drawing on the energies of his dark magic and the idol, he begins shaping something tall, with wings...
Play a Swamp and a Keening Banshee, targeting the Ranger. haven't figured out good RPing for it yet
Felpurr's eyes begin to get a greenish tint, as he focuses even more mana.
"Quite understandable. But I'll just have to make more."

His hands spread wide, and he begins to draw black mana into them. Instead of shaping it into a figure, as he had the others, it stays circular, but it begins to glow with an eerie light. In its glow, his creatures begin to look strange...
<Now! Attack!> His banshee and the goblin swoop towards Felpurr.

Felpurr's eyes glow even more brightly as the green mana starts to swirl around him, being fed through his new cube.
"I'm afraid this is almost the end, my friend."

I KNEW it. I freaking KNEW it. I started thinking about Overrun right after I'd posted, did the math, and then realized I survive...but only if you didn't have the Naturalize. Then I checked Frankie's, and you'd just gotten a gem that would have been useful in the artifact hole....that cost 50 gold...
Oh well. I misplayed. Nice game! And thanks for posting as much as you did last night.
Aggron looks surprised as the green magic dispels his moon. 't know nature magic could do that...> Then he looks back at Felpurr's creatures--his huge, charging army of creatures...
Aggron actually squeaks in dismay. <Hold! HOLD! I concede! I know when I'm beaten!> He remembers the last time he'd been in the Arena, and he doesn't want to have to limp out again...

Aggron dips his tail in salute to Felpurr. <Thanks. I could've done better, but I made mistakes. You certainly taught me a good lesson about green mages.>
He walks across the sand to shake Felpurr's hand. <Good luck to you as well, in the tournament and with your magic studies.>
"That is true. Even though a green mage can't rain down death and destruction like some other mages, they still can be dangerous. Unfortunately, I must go for now, to return to my house."
Felpurr bids Aggron farewell and leaves the Arena to return to House Shanodia.
