"Aramil? Are you alright? I'm sorry, I shouldn't have had you clean the rails." Once Roger got to the bottom he went over to his partner to see if he was alright.
Fortunately, Aramil manages to catch himself on a rung. Unfortunately, he fell several rungs before he managed to grab hold, and he wrenched his shoulders with the sudden stop (Aramil takes 1 damage). However, he is now much closer to the bottom, and, after another half minute or so, he touches down at the bottom.

Never forget: there's always someone bigger, better and stronger than you.
Someone once asked me why, when I talk about House Dimir, I don't put the word "the" in front of it.
At the time, I had no answer, but it just came to me.
Do we put the word "the" in front of God?

Aramil stretched his arms and rolled his shoulders, trying to work through the pain of the fall. "I'll be fine," he said, "and don't start apologizing for me making my mistakes. It's a sign of weakness, and one that is not befitting of someone that Lord Korlash spoke of so highly."
After several moments, the pain eased, and Aramil relaxed a bit. "Now," he said, "which way to the door?"
The troubles I go through to be nice and this is my thanks? "You know, you can go quite far in life with the proper... you know what? Nevermind. Just don't break your arm, I don't want to carry you back up."
Roger continued down the ladder and arrived down by Aramil shortly after. The smell of death was everywhere, "smells like home." Roger let out a grunt, "I hate home."
The two find themselves in a short stone hallway. At the far end is a metal door. Just before the metal door and in the right wall is a wooden door.

"Which door should we open" Roger said, at a whisper. He started to move toward the wooden door, "Wood seems out of place down here. One moment please. I'm going to fade into the shadows." Roger fell back into the darkest corner he could find and enveloped himself in darkness. He could feel the shadows of black mana and the taint of the death forming a void around him. When he finally was lost from sight he tried his luck at opening the wooden door.
OOC This is all assuming it is dark enough in the hallway to become invisible.
Roger opens the door to find a small room on the other side. The left wall is perfectly smooth, the right has a buttress separating the near part from the far part. There is a metal attachment on the left wall with a spoked wheel on it and chains heading up out of it. Also, the smell of waste is much stronger with the door open.

Roger peered into the room with the wooden door and looked to see where the chain went up, out of the walls, to. He tried to be conscience of where Aramil was, not that he could return the favor.
There is more ambient mana on the other side of the metal door than Aramil has felt.
Ever.
About half of it is blue.
The chains go straight up and into the ceiling

After seeing nothing of interest in the room behind the wooden door Roger tried to make his mind open to Aramil. What have you found Aramil? Roger tried to sense what was beyond the doorway. He also looked it over with his crystal.
Beyond the metal door, Roger also senses an absolutely large amount of mana, about half of it blue. He does not resonate with any of the rest, so he knows none of it happens to be black, either. The crystal reveals nothing about the door that cannot be seen already, just a clearer version of a metal door.

"Perhaps a bit of mana might help." Roger tried to channel blue mana into the door. "I'm no blue mage, but most of the blue mages I've met were quite good at figuring things out. Maybe you've got some sort of talent for 'seeing answers' as well. Have you ever tried something like that?"

Obviously frustrated, Aramil draws another mana to himself, and the air around his form starts to spin around him.
"Step back." Aramil said simply.
Without giving Roger too much time to react, Aramil held his hands, palms-up, out in front of him. The spinning air picked up intensity around his palms until a tiny cyclone appeared in each hand. slowly, Aramil brought his hands together, and the two cyclones merged into one mass of spinning air. He held the tiny tempest for several moments, allowing them it to become more and more powerful. Finally, he thrust his arms forward and unleashed the gathered energy against the door, the air slamming into it with the force of a microburst.
Nothing happens. The door doesn't budge, the wall doesn't shake, no crack appears anywhere. The wind splashes around and both Aramil and Roger can feel its passage, but nothing else happens.
