Aramil simply stood in silence as Korlash and Chainer explained the mission. After committing their words to memories, he turned to Roger and said, "Alright then, Mister Dredge, let's make haste. Have you been to Ravnica as well? I must admit, I am not particularly well-traveled, but I assure you I am no slouch should we face resistance towards finding the Mirari."
"Yes, I've been there a few times, it's pretty easy to get lost if you don't know you're way around. I'm pretty sure I could lead us straight to the arena, although I've never been inside it."
OOC: Did you ask for it specifically? It's not a "common" request item, so it wouldn't be something he'd think to just give out--even just to give out a copy. Also, I'm not going to require the one day in real life travel time between the cities for a quest.
"Then we bid you farewell and good luck to you both."
OOC2: Is anyone going to take the key?

Never forget: there's always someone bigger, better and stronger than you.
Someone once asked me why, when I talk about House Dimir, I don't put the word "the" in front of it.
At the time, I had no answer, but it just came to me.
Do we put the word "the" in front of God?

"Yes, lets be off." Roger stashed away the key and lead the way out of Shimia into Estark. Then, he lead the two of them out of the city to a place where they could summon mounts. "Do you have anything to ride on? I do, but it's a little bit... undead."
Aramil sighed, "I can't say that I do. My spells almost exclusively deal with wearing down and controlling the mind."
He seemed lost in thought for a moment. "I don't mind anything undead, but we could certainly use something more than an ethereal horse if we plan on moving quickly."
"I agree, and I apologize in advance for the smell."
Roger summoned a pair of Tattered Drakes for them to ride to Ravnica. He climbed aboard his, "I think this should prove to be a short journey on the backs of these... things."
Aramil breathed deep and smiled. He quickly took his place on the back of the fetid drake, and he actually seemed to be right at home. "Lead the way," he said with a grin on his face from ear to ear.
Before Aramil could respond the two drakes were in the air. "It shoudn't be too long of a trip" Roger shouted to his partner. The drakes sped toward the City of Ravnica.
The journey to Ravnica is indeed short and relatively pleasant--if only for the offsetting smell of the drakes. The pair land just inside the city, in the plaza just in front of the arena.

Aramil turned and looked at the bustling city around him. For a few fleeting moments, he almost seemed to be a normal tourist if it weren't for the festering drake he had for a mount.
Finally, Aramil snapped to his senses, and dropped from the drake's back. Turning to Roger he said, "I would love to explore this city and take this wonderful place in, but I fear that our time is limited. Let's go."
And without a second word, Aramil was heading off towards the entrance to the Ravnican Arena.
"We'll have plenty of time to explore after we get the artifact." The two drakes disappeared after they dismounted. "Well, I'll lead you to the arena, the first thing we have to do is get through the gate, since neither of us is in a guild we'll have to get in my way... which, oddly enough, involves just pressing my hand against the entrance." The two of them walked up to the city's entrance.
"Alright, the Arena should be this way." Roger starts to move. "Stay close, there are thieves and more people than I like to be around." The two of them started to fight through the crowd.
Roger turned to his companion, "Seeing as we won't know what we're going against in the future I think we ought to have some sort of game plan, I can hit pretty hard after I build up a bit of mana, do you think you could keep enemies off of me until I get to that point?" He was still walking to the arena.
"I believe I could." Aramil replied. "I specialize in keeping resources from my opponents, and never allowing them to get much of a footing against either me or my allies."
"Wonderful, I just hope we don't get overwhelmed. I can only deal with one thing at a time, but it'll only take one hit." Roger paused for a moment, it appeared that they were standing in front of a very large building, "Looks like we made it, Let's go inside." Up they went, as they climbed the steps into the arena.
"I don't believe we will. If you can access the powers of both black and blue mana, and I am firmly rooted in my own shade of blue, I doubt we will face much that will be capable of stopping us."
Aramil takes a few steps in silence before suddenly blurting out, "Which reminds me, I don't trust you. There must be some way you came to access both blue and black mana, and yet you say you have no knowledge of how you gained that power. I find that incredibly difficult to believe."
Whenever Roger decides to turn to look at Aramil, he will find the mind mage staring holes through him, as if he wasn't looking at Roger at all, but something more distant, something intangible.
Roger did turn, "Fair enough, I don't trust me either. Can you imagine waking up one day to find several weeks have gone past you, you have the ability to cast spells you've never heard of, and you feel like you've been worked over by some sort of lobotomist. Ugh, oh, and having certain ticks. Did you know I've turned invisible before? I'd give anything to find out what happened to me." I hate lying to people like this... However, it looks like he could be a good candidate. I'll have to send someone to meet with him once we return to Estark.
Aramil kept his unblinking stare at Roger for several minutes before a bead of sweat rolled from his brow.
Waves of pain washed over his mind as he recoiled and held a hand to his head. Aramil staggered for a minute and blinked his eyes several times before he managed to gather himself. Once again looking to Roger, Aramil said, "If you hate lying so much, you should try not to do so. Look, I understand if you have your secrets and wish to guard them tightly. However, do not cover them up by lying to me. Tell me when you do not wish to impart your knowledge upon me, but do not act like you do not possess it in the first place. Doing the latter only makes you lose my trust and forces me to watch both you and whatever threat we will come across. Trust me when I say, if I fear your dagger in my back, then that will only make it that much easier for an enemy to overwhelm both of us."
"Wait a minute. You can read my mind?" "*$*$*$*$*$*$*$*$*$*$*$*$*$*$*$*$*$*$*$*$*$*$*$" "I um... Er... Um... Sorry? It's just that... I can't tell you certain things about myself. Trust me I'd love to... but I... Oh, please stop staring at me like I've betrayed you or something I'd never stick a dagger in your back. Murder isn't my thing." "Please stay out of my head."
"Look, you want to gain Shimia's praise by doing this mission correct? Well, I want to do the same thing, so whether or not we can trust each other, which I believe I just blew for both of us, we still are trying to accomplish the same goal here. The other houses are after the same thing, including Lat Nam. You being an ex-member gives you just as much suspicion as me keeping secrets. However, I trust you. It may be irrational, it may be stupid, but I still trust you; and the only way that the two of us are going to bring back the Mirari is if we work together."
Roger extended his arm to him as a peace offering.
Aramil extended his hand and grasped Roger's in his own. "You have demons that plague you, my friend, and no one has to peer into your thoughts to know that. I will not ask further on the matter, and I will return your trust."
Aramil then tugged hard on Rogers arm to bring the warlock/wizard within inches of his body. Whispering in his ear with a quiet, cold, calculating voice low enough that no one else could hear them, Aramil said, "Dishonor what I have given you, and I will show no restraint, no rest in seeking vengeance upon you."
With his last words, Aramil released Roger's hands and smiled at the mage. Returning to his previous voice, he said, "Now, how about we get to finishing this mission, yes?"

Do we put the word "the" in front of God? A Storyteller is not a GM. A GM is God. God is one of the Storyteller's little minions.
Aramil nodded. "Right. Mister Dredge, shall we depart?"
