OOG: This quest is for Aggron / Shadow of Nevinyrral, Felpurr / treefrog1976, Yana / ZasZ234, and myself as storyteller only. If anyone posts here who is not one of the aforesaid members, any of the other WPLs of the RPG, or anyone who has my permission to, the post will be reported, and I will be finding the nearest ballistic planetary body to chuck at the offender's character (if applicable). Have a nice day, enjoy your game.
"Nice ta meet ye, Yana," the Dwarf says, and shakes her hand confidently, but gently. "Glad to hear yer interested. Care fer a drink before we get going? We'll be flying out as soon as we're all ready."
Aggron was a little surprised by the girl who had just stepped in front of him--both by the bone bracelets and by her attitude. <Hello, Yana>, he said, a touch of sarcasm in his mind-speech. I'm getting a little tired of not being taken seriously...
Glad you decided to join us, even if our characters are off to a bad start.
Also, checking in.
Aggron notices the change in the girl's tone, and he realizes what it means. She's not rude--she's just nervous and hiding it with bravado. I guess I can go with that...
In a much less caustic tone, he replies to her. <Yes, sorry about that. I guess you don't get many telepathic creatures where you come from. The dwarvish one thought he was going crazy when I talked to him>.
<Anyway, I'm one of the others going on this mission. Name's Aggron; nice to meet you>.
Btw, is that height 5' standing up? I always considerd a thrinax rather large, but Yana would have to look down...
Yes, it's 5' standing up. I wasn't sure about a thrinax's dimensions, and Aggron's quite the mutant anyway, so I just guessed. His smallness seems to have become a character quirk, so I'm just going with it.
For what it's worth, he's fairly bulky--just short
<Yes, we had a few other telepaths where I came from, but most of them were far more powerful than me. All I can do is speak like this>. Aggron shows no visible reaction to Yana's thoughts, although he did move his head a bit to look at the leonin. He's awfully quiet all of a sudden...
I dunno if your character will believe this, but just FYI, Aggron can only speak, not receive, except from another telepath. It seemed a little absurd to me that someone with a thrinax's throat could speak English, is all.
Felpurr quietly examines the newcomer. His feline eyes surreptitiously peer into the poor lighting of Yana's hood, seeing the expression of disgust which is quickly masked. With a twinkle in his eye, he greets the fourth member of their group.
"Greetings, Yana. I do hope that you're not allergic to cat hair. We'll be working closely together for a while."
Felpurr's wide grin is full of teeth, and then he turns to the dwarf.
"What a unique group we seem to be, eh Lars? At least we don't seem to have any Phyrexians... or Simic."

They love and hate to see me walk through the door. I'm the man with the box, one to carry all his Standard cards with him. I've got the commons and uncommons they need. But I've also got my decks. If I walk into FNM, I came to play. And they never know what I'm gonna pull out of my hat next. I may lose more than I win, but it just might be THIS deck that has all the answers that they don't have answers for. They fear the unknown. They fear me. And they never see me coming!
"Aye, this group be an interesting one," Lars says to Felpurr. "And I'm happy that we got none of those Phrexers coming along. Simic, though? Got no problem with them."
Turning back to Yana, he says "I'm sure there'll be lots of valuables. The former owner of this dungeon was an artificer of rather impressive skills, so the valuables will probably be some nicely powerful gadgets and magical gizmos."
"And she does have a valid point. I'm not in the habit of playing fetch and carry. I'm a cat, not a dog." He winks. "I do hope that there's some action involved."

"Partly that, yes," he nods grudgingly, "but that artificer was known fer some weird stuff, and who knows how long it will take fer some of the magics ta wear off. I be interested in the treasure, but I'd be willin' to split it if it means that we can walk outta there ALIVE."

Quick question for RedDwarfian:
How often will this thread update? I don't mean to be rude, and I know mods are people too and have other stuff to do, but it's been two days now.
If you're busy enough that we need to expect biweekly...or weekly...updates for a while, I can deal with that. I'd just like to know now.
EDIT: I just read the inactivity list, and I'm totally in error here. Sorry about that. Good luck with your work.
No apologies needed. I hope to be able to update at least once a day from now on. Sorry for the inconvenience. The final project went rather well, though, and I'm quite happy with the results.
Lars knocks back his drink as well. "Aye, let's get going."
He starts to walk out the bar. "Which do ye all want? Fast and frozen and gettin' there after dark, or we take it slow and we get there tomorrow? I need ta know now so I know whether I'll have to change me clothes."
"Fast and furious works for me. The cold doesn't bother me... much."
He glances at Yana, waiting for her response.

"Alrighty then. I'll get me heavy clothes on before we go."
Lars leads you out of the city, and gives you each an Ornithopter scroll. Before he summons his, he pulls out some thicker clothes out of his pack and throws them on over his chainmail.
"Shall we?" he says, summoning the 'thopter, and climbing on.
Felpurr takes his Ornithopter scroll and summons it.
"Well this will be interesting, to say the least."
He climbs up on the thopter and examines the contraption, tying himself on tightly with a rope.

Lars takes off. You follow him as he gradually accelerates. At a certain point, all you can hear is the wind in your ears as you travel across the plains and into the mountains.
As you go, the sun moves across the sky, and you notice more and more how cold it gets with the wind whipping at you. Before the sun reaches the horizon, you see Lars look over his shoulder and make a motion. You can see him shout something, but all you hear is the wind. He then banks his 'thopter, and goes into a dive towards the side of a mountain.
The cold is doing strange things to Aggron's body. His metal parts are all shrinking slightly, and he's beginning to make a rattling noise as he moves. He's holding together, however, and his mind is as sharp as usual.
He leans toward the banking thopter and tries to reach Lars with his mind-speech, hoping it won't be affected by the distance. 't hear you, but I'm following you down>. With that, he turns his thopter and dives....

Lars steps off his Ornithopter, letting it collapse back into a scroll. You can tell that he's a bit green under the beard. He wobbles for a moment, says "We're here, oop, 'scuse me..." then runs off into the bushes, where you hear him being sick.
Aggron is the second to land. He puts his rescrolled thopter in his pouch, then leans against a boulder, his tail running quickly over his loose joints. Curse this cold...
Aggron looks over at Yana's thopter. <You should probably re-scroll that>, he thought at her. <It'll be useful if we get stuck later, and it might get stolen if you leave it here>.

Felpurr's turns again to Lars.
"And she does have a valid point. I'm not in the habit of playing fetch and carry. I'm a cat, not a dog." He winks. "I do hope that there's some action involved."
Aggron looked around. <Looks like we're all set to go--shall we head out?>
"I agree. Shall we be on our way?"
He looks expectantly at Lars.

"Finally, the ground." he mutters to himself.
