There were many cans of an array of things: beans, potatoes, rice. This was, after all, the guest kitchen and she had no idea how often he actually had guests. She figured that if she were looking for something akin to the splendorous food she had yesterday, the main kitchen was to be a safer bet.
There was a can of small preserved sausage in a can underneath a small sink. The kitchen was rather minuscule but she could tell by the appliances and the decorations that it took a good amount of money to make it. It dawned on her how generous her host had been, given that he didn't have to do any of this for her.
The girl looks at the sausage with a frown. But she takes that out, and then the rice she eventually finds. She starts cooking it up, looking around. "Rather odd that he's giving so much..."
The girl takes her beans and rice and eats slowly, enjoying every bite. Then she sits back and considers. What should she do? She has no idea how long he's going to be gone... She then gets up, washes her plate, and leaves the room. Looking around. Then checking the door she hadn't searched yet.
The second room was a small but elegant bathroom with a bright white shower in the corner. It was stocked with soap and shampoo that she could smell from where she was standing and it filled her nostrils with a pleasant, soothing scent. She realized, with some chagrin, that she had never really tried to bathe herself with the new suit on.
The girl looks down at herself and frowns. Well, it was said that having to... Er... 'evacuate' would handle itself. So maybe soap? She starts to run a shower. Hopefully.
For a few moments, the suit did nothing until Cerwen's body started wanting to feel the water on her skin. Slowly, the suit crept back, dragging along her body and creating sensations that were at times uncomfortable and at times rather pleasuring. Before long, the suit had retreated to nothing but a single strip of the durable 'fabric' on the back of her neck.
The shower did well to keep Cerwen's hopes up. At least the suit wouldn't be that much of a pain. She dried herself off, if the suit didn't handle it for her, and then went exploring again. Heading downstairs to see what she can see.
The suit could have dried her off but the feel of a soft towel on her body was relaxing and familiar. Downstairs was as luxurious as she remembered from the previous night and she couldn't help but smile as she saw that Lafreur had opened every door on the floor for her, letting her know that she was free to go anywhere.
The girl looks around for a moment, poking here and there. Mostly looking for anything particularly interesting in the rooms while she waits for her gracious host to return.
One of the rooms was incredibly fascinating. A cursory glance revealed a small room with a desk in the centre but upon second look she realized that it was a massive library. Unlike the books she owned, these were in immaculate shape with crisp bindings. They went from floor to ceiling and surrounded the entire room.
The girl started hunting through, specifically over that desk. Her host is a bit too... Clean for her, and she's curious if he has a dark history for her to learn about.
The desk was unrevealing aside from a few business letters from one of the other owners of the store and a receipt from the bank. Cerwen's eyes bulged as she read the statement, showing that his account balance was several digits longer than any she had seen before.
Cerwen nods a little. It's a lot, but it's what she expected. Sort of. She'd expected him to be quite well off. She continues rifling through drawers. He can't be this perfect...
More unrevealing things were found; an outdated map, some old bank statements, lore letters, a book full of notes and finally... a journal. Cerwen's heart beat quickly when she found his ledger but was sorely disappointed when she realized it had been bound with several locks.
There was every title imaginable ranging from every genre of fiction to carefully laid out and organized books of non-fiction. As she perused the library, she could see how meticulously they had been cleaned and peeked at the titles; legendary beasts, growth in nature, ever shaping terraforming and in the fiction section she laughed at one of the stories, the story of the invisible man.
It turned out to be a fictional story and a rather bizarre one at that. The first paragraph read;
{Voyeur: A person who enjoys watching the sexual acts of others.}
Tom was an ordinary man, one who had a wife and kids and a close relationship with his best friend. What was extraordinary, however, was that he was a light adept and could disappear. Of course, people knew his predilection for vanishing at parties but they did not know where he went afterwards.
The room was vast and expansive, filled with books that looked rather antique and others that looked like they had never been opened (like the one she just put back). To look at them all would have taken ages, but Cerwen didn't have much to do today. Still, the house was large and would take some time exploring.
