"Dad it's good, you know, all the kids are really great. I wasn't sure when I started last year that this would be for me, but now I'm quite certain. Oh, by the way did you know I'm teaching one of your colleague's sons? The kids name is Markell...can't remeber the parents name though..."
His Dad smiled, "that's wonderful. I've heard from some of the staff there that you're fitting in very well. You know, I went to university with some of your coworkers. It seems like ages ago when we were all out partying and having a good time. To think that my boy is all grown up and working with them... certainly makes me feel like a geezer."
"Haha, Dad don't worry, you ain't that old," Kiego laughed as he walked over closer to his father. It seemed like after university, and after he found a real stable job, the relationship with his parents just increased ten-fold. They no longer saw him as a young, struggling adolescent, and now saw him as a independent adult. The thought brought a smile to Kiego's face.
"Tea" his father said with a robust chuckle, "I'm afraid I don't have the patience to do anything more experimental these days. What are you working on when you're not teaching, Kiego?"
OOC: LOL I'm drinking some now, and btw, I'm going to assume that the government gave him the plant that he was studying in the beginning
"Honestly I don't know...creating lesson plans, grading essays and test, tutoring, it's keeping me all busy. I guess when I do have some time I'm working on this plantI had created in the government labs over the summer...it's really odd"
"That's great" replied his father before shushing his voice so that his mother wouldn't hear them, "and now I have to ask... how is the girl situation? Have you got a steady yet?" Before replying, Kiego couldn't help but laugh at the use of the word 'steady', a word that hadn't been in any vernacular for at least a decade.
OOC: Hey is it okay if I make Kiego bisexual, just for added fun
"Uhh...buh....DAD!" Kiego was caught a little off guard at that coment. Typical parents, obsessed with grandbabies. Kiego hadn't had a serious relationship since university, so this subject was a little sore.
"Haha, if a girl comes around who is really, really fine, I may just make her a rose and bring her to my pleasure dome," Kiego jokingly told his father.
The Dad shook his head, "all you kids these days care about is the pleasure. What ever happened to falling in love?" He winked, "but I suppose these are the days to be wild and free." He coughed slightly, "well... I've had a long day and this old man needs some rest. Sorry to cut our visit short, son, but I'm going to have a nap. Good luck finding a woman, son!"
"It was fine Mom, you know him, he's acting more and more like a old man everyday." Kiego couldn't help but feel maybe this was the reason his parents were neglecting their garden and other duties; they were getting old.
"Well, I wasn't able to get Dad's opinion, but I'm just wondering Mom, what do you think about all that's happened lately? Everyone's so stressed out and busy after the Imortalis speech."
The mom waved her hand abruptly, "let's not talk about all that war, okay? You just need to worry about your school... this is a great chance for you at the academy and you shouldn't be worrying about that kind of thing." Her words were sharp and he knew better than to refute the strong lessons of a mother on edge.
OOC: lol at double entendre
Kiego smiled awkwardly at his Mom, chuckling a little. "Alright Mom, your right I should chill out a bit, I guess I should head out now," and with that he pulled her in for a goodbye hug.
His mother's embrace hadn't changed from his childhood as she hugged him back and kissed his cheek, "have a good rest of the day, son. Make sure you're eating well and sleeping lots!"
Bidding his mother farewell, Kiego left his childhood home, out into the streets of the busy city. The sweet, easy going atmosphere of his parents' house seemed to disintegrate in a flash as the busy, uptight urban craziness engulfed him
Sighing, Kiego made his way towards his own home.
OOC: If there is public transport, Kiego will take it home.
As he walked home, Kiego remembered that he had failed to lock the door to his lab at the academy. Luckily it was on the way home and the detour wouldn't take too long. It was still day out and it would be a long while before it would be unwise to return to the school.
OOC: no transport but things in town are all located relatively close together.
The walk was short and brisk as he passed a few of his fellow teachers entering the academy just ahead of him. One of them was a tall, handsome man only a few years older than he was and the other was a shorter, slender woman. It was quite obvious that the rather attractive pair were flirting heavily as they entered the doors not far ahead.
He gave the couple a quick smile as he entered the academy, searching his pocket for the keys to the lab. Sometimes he thought so much happened at the school without him, but he had only been on the staff for a year and a half, surely in a few years he would be as natural to this place as the student it taught.
When he arrived at the lab, Kiego was startled by a girl who was peeking into the window of the room. She didn't notice him approach as he looked her over. The girl was tall and slim with fair skin, deep brown eyes and long, brown-blonde hair. A green shawl was on her arms, covering a white top and a mid-length cream coloured skirt. She looked young enough to be a student but at the same time carried herself with the elegance of a grown woman. Regardless, Kiego rarely had people visiting his lab after class hours and he had never seen her before in his life.
His curiosity raised a little, he went over to the window and awkwardly knocked on it as if it were a door. He then waved and mouthed the words, Can I help you?
The girl jumped a little bit and turned away, scurrying off down the hallway as her fair skin went a deep shade of red. If Kiego was interested, he could still catch her as she passed by the door in the hallway

"Come one..." coerced his dad, "you can tell your old man. It's okay if you don't have one yet... I just want to know if you're looking."

Kiego ran out of the lab, and tried to catch the girl as she ran in the hallway.
"Hey! Do you need to use the lab or something? Hold on!"
